Hey you visit finland helsinki tampere
Wow I like icland
Iceland is great for seafood! Cheap lobsters and clams when I was there years ago. Loved your trip to mye home country Norway! :)
Welcome to your home country, you guys and it's so amazing exploring the world with you, yeah!
Thanks! 🙌
They are new people. Stronger people.
can't wait for the UK videos to start back up! enjoy your time back home :)
Welcome back home! I really enjoyed your vlog! Can't wait for the next one! You guys are awesome! Your hard work is really well appreciated! Thank you!
This video made me miss WOW Air all over again!
Brit here. I went to NYC last year and couldn't believe how incredibly rude the staff were at JFK. At immigration there were about 20 gates open for US citizens who cleared in under 30 minutes. When they cleared, instead of the staff then letting us through, they closed all but two of the booths and we had to wait THREE HOURS to get through security. The woman I saw didn't speak but just pointed at things, said nothing at all about what she was doing and really, really took her time doing it. It was almost comically slow. She was definitely doing it deliberately. Then we had to pass through another check where some guy (a soldier I think) said "Show me your papers". I had no idea what he wanted so hesitated for a moment and he shouted (a proper shout) at me "NO! NOT THAT! I WANT THAT!" pointing at one of the bits of paper the security woman had given me. I lifted up my hand to give it to him and he snatched it from me, looked at it and then held it out for me to take back. He didn't say another word.
All in all was over four and a half hours from landing until we were finally in a cab and heading to our hotel. So much for the plans we had for that first afternoon. By the time we got to Manhattan and checked in to the hotel, all we could do was crash out.
I absolutely *loved* New York but that initial introduction was without a doubt the worst I have ever been treated anywhere and a terrible welcome.
Definitely one of the most inhospitable places in the world under the current regime. Why anybody would want to visit there, unless through necessity, is beyond me when there are so many beautiful and welcoming places to visit in the world.
I'm sorry you were treated so poorly, there is no excuse for that.
My daughter flew from Birmingham Airport via Air Lingus and had a stop over at Dublin Airport before flying out to the US. She underwent all the US preclearance immigration checks from there. When she landed at San Francisco Airport, she just went straight for her checked in luggage then out of the airport to the parking area to meet her dad. She told me that the queue at the immigration was unbelievable and was so grateful she did not have to go all through that as the one in Dublin is definitely quicker and not as over the top strict. Probably worth going through Dublin when going to the US. Saves a lot of hassles. Dublin Aiport is one of the handful airports that offers a precelarance facility. Check out the US preclearance guide at Dublin Airport: www.dublinairport.com/at-the-airport/passenger-information/us-preclearance-facility
Yep, I'm from Dublin, the pre-clearance is a life saver. You can also do it in Shannon. I have been to the US several times. Fly through on the US side when you go from Dublin and Shannon. A nightmare from any other European country. Staff in JFK win the most obnoxious gits of the year prize.
joythornz that’s actually a very good tip 👍 I would think twice otherwise before visiting US at the moment..
We just booked a flight to England from our home town Vancouver yesterday that stops in Iceland. On the way home we have a 26 hour layover so it was nice to see this video pop up today. I am loving your adventures.
Awesome job guys looks really good!!
BOOMLAND! You gotta go there and show the viewers!
If you come back to England you should visit Kent! (Especially Rochester with the medieval cathedral and castle, Dover & Canterbury!) Safe travels & looking forward to your next adventure!
If you go to Canterbury and visit the ruins of the little square castle there, yes you can squeeze past the grill in the spiral staircase to get onto the walls to watch the sunset, yes it's a romantic location and no, you shouldn't. Someone comes round and locks the main gate at sunset. Sure, you can squeeze out past that, too, but it's not fun.
Aww, you guys look happy to be home! I was in the Keflavik airport over the summer en route to Berlin and was really nice seeing it again in the video :) Bon voyage and happy trails from Montreal.
Have fun back home guys 💕
Cripes Eric - I hope it wasn’t rubber gloves time for you in Icelandic security!!
Really enjoying your channel. Perfect blend of culture, sightseeing and fun. And so polished. Awesome stuff.
Yay! I agree: FINALLY, a direct flight out of St. Louis! Long overdue. . . Great video!
I had to pause and say I'm happy you guys are flying with Wow air. We just found tickets from Europe to Chicago and are scared to take the plunge because we've never heard of them. Hope everything goes well for you so we know what to do about our own flights 😬
Welcome back to the states! Glad that your flight was not too bad! =)
hello how are u
5:51 good footage of wow air and how their flights were, they are now no more as a airline company.
they were like a bus line, everything was minimal , but the jets were just fine.
My flight to and from Reykjavik was 2.5-3 hours each way tops; I couldn't imagine a long haul flight of 11 hours.
I always wanted to visit the US . But! The horror stories I have heard. Of the TSA and the US police put an end to that.
Im a brit, it isnt great, rude staff and unwelcoming, however, once out of the airport everyone i met was lovely so i would recommend going.
I've read plenty of stories about the police there: forums.xkcd.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=84861
I've heard quite a few about the TSA too.
Given where I went on holiday a few years ago: i1372.photobucket.com/albums/ag332/DiscoverPersia18Nov2014/PA281172greenlit_zps14341062.jpg
... I'll stick to other countries, I think. I've been to the US a few times already, anyway.
If ur white ur good
Hey there!! I adore you two!
I'm originally from Nashville😍 I now live in Naples, Florida due to my husband's job. I think y'all are fabulous. Been following you guys for a long time-I absolutely love the UK. My family history began at the Isle of Man...❤️
Welcome home guys. Hope that you get in touch when you get to the North East. I sent you a contact.
You guys should come back to Reykjavik from Feb 7-10! It's the winter lights festival! My wife and I are going and doing a tour to see the aurora borealis. It would be fun!
We just might! Seeing the northern lights is still high up on our bucket list 👌
That would be cool! If you go, it would be neat to meet you. My wife and I both love your channel! Happy travels!
Can’t wait for when you do finally the ring road. Seen loads of videos of people doing it but I’d like you get your guys perspective on it. Think you’d do a great job editing it too
You guys should use Kara and Nate's common-known strategy and book the window and aisle seat so that you most likely get the whole row!
Come back! We miss you in the UK
Wow! All this time watching ya'll and didnt know you lived right down the road from me. Welcome home.
Iceland is incredible i love it. I was so lucky to see the northern lights whilst there
You guys showed me exactly what I'm going to expect from a WowAir flight! I'm going to be hanging out in Iceland for 11 hours and then off to Gatwick in March! Thank you oodles for taking us with you on your journeys!! Saying HI from cold old Michigan! Safe travels!
Bet you’re glad to be home, I’m going to miss you guys & your travels x
Oh, my. I may be a bit three sheets to the wind writing this, but that whole video was awesome (as Eric would say). Keep on truckin', (thanks to Robert Crumb). Robert.
Welcome back to your homeland, all the best 😊

Awesome that you guys finally got to try the new WOW Air route to STL. 😎👍
Yes!!! We’ve had the same experience coming back to the US. I’m always caught off guard with the “welcome” home. We just got Global Entry though so I’m hoping that helps.
Enjoy your time with your family. I am looking forward to your Nashville vlogs.
As a brit, sadly have to agree, such a miserable welcome into the US. Look forward to seeing you guys back over here soon 👍
"Land of the free" lol
Curb your enthusiasm is legendary 🙌🏻
We just arrived in Nashville from our home in UK - would be great if we bumped into you guys
Another excellent video.
Awesome video!
You Guys are special, more please.
I passed through Iceland on the way to Chicago a couple of weeks ago with WOW air. I missed everything the airport had to offer on the way out and back. On the way out I thought I had an hour so spent it at the gate, turns out it was two! On the way back due to flights running late I had just fifteen minutes before the gate closed. Thankfully I was about 100 feet away when they made the final call. Can't wait to see your videos from the States :)
What is the immigration process in iceland? I am also taking a connecting flight
@@smende3 If you are just taking a connecting flight you shouldn't need any special immigration papers/documents. You are passing through and not 'entering the country'.
Thank you!!!
Convenient flight yes.. unless you come visit us first! 😀🇨🇦 Super fun vlog guys! - Trevor
Oh we'll definitely get up to your neck of the woods soon 👌 we'll keep you all posted!
Delightful Travellers the same as abandoned by ah b CT result of the most important
2.2 lb to kg...
Allison ~30 lbs
Eric ~24.5 lbs
There's stiff competition between entering USA through JFK vs entering Canada through Vancouver...
Both of the C&BP played 20 questions whilst 'grumpy'...
If TSA or security or customs want to make a point, I wish they'd just make it and not be rude. I hate their job, so I guess they do too.
That's why we need a REAL investigation of 9-11, so we all know who & how they did it. That way we don't have to distrust EVERYONE.
The truth will set us free!
Yes,I encountered a frisk,coming into Barbados.
As u say-wow ! Like super tight security....
Hope ur both ok...and I’m sure happy to be home for now.
No place like home eh? Best wishes sent ☺️🙏🏻
Welcome back!!! I'm going to Italy in about a week and I will be flying through Wow Air from LA, stopover in Reykjavik, and then another stopover in Frankfurt, Germany! What did you guys think of it?
How was the immigration process in Iceland?
Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty good
MrGdong to be the best of all
Fish being fishy is bad, but beef being beefy is good.
Just about to embark on Glasgow - Melbourne flight. Duration 25 Hours 15 minutes, which is better than outbound which was 27 hours and 35 minutes. Come see us some time!
What an awesome journey!!
Before you select a seat on an aircrafr, check out seat guru. They have seat plans for all major airlines.
It tells you every type of aircraft and every seats advantages and disadvantagex, like a missing window. ✈
Love you guys !!!!! Love following you on your adventures.... be safe a happy 🌬🌬🌬🌬
This video was pretty, pretty good
This comment was pretty... pretty... pretty good 😂
I live in St. Louis and just today I read that Wow Air will stop their flights through Lambert (St. Louis) so I’m sad that you guys won’t be able to use it anymore especially with your glowing reviews.
Wonderful vlog. I hope you go to Greece, Italy, or even Turkey one day- just a hint! Anyone who can make dried fish sound tasty has my vote for "Best Vloggers"!.
Good morning
You two are so cute together. Keep the vids coming y’all!
As a European I travel with Iceland Air as much as I can.
If only they'd fly direct Winnipeg!
do come back to the philippines and explore the north.
All that travel and you've never been taken aside before? I swear it happens to me everytime I travel..
A video idea would be to compile a list of quirks different airports have to prepare people like you need a plastic bag (or a euro) for your liquids in Cologne. Some that I have noticed are if you have a layover in Paris on the way to the US you will have to go through security again and if you have a layover in Dublin on the way to the US you will go through customs in Dublin not when you reach the US. Also, I went from Singapore and had a layover in Tokyo and I had to go through security again there as well. I feel like there needs to be some sort a list out there for people so that they're prepared and make sure to have a longer layover at a destination that might take longer due to having to go through security again.
Icelandair flies non stop into Denver as well.
Another Brit here. Yup, one learns to be very wary when entering the US. My first experience was at Boston as a single 17 year old. I'm sure they thought I was trying to go to the US to work or something. And I've had the full treatment when trying to leave JFK. Those guys can be quite rude. Certainly, never, ever, have a camera rolling.
When you guys eventually are allowed to go to Cuba, then you'll be blown away by the airport procedures at Havana. When I went, the guy stamping the passports was smoking a massive cigar! It was awesome.
I’ve visited the US 6 times now. The rudest and uncaring people have been in the service industries. Everyone else was so friendly and welcoming. Will be back for trip 7 in a couple of years. Thx for sharing, guys.
Ha! I have to agree and as a fellow American it’s embarrassing that security is so rude AND disorganised!😞
Wow! Airlines just announced that they're closing their service in STL now, because they said the amount of business was "disappointing." 🤷
Really enjoy your videos well done.
Good morningggggggg
*Nice Vlog*
Glad to know you are from the midwest. I'm am just up 55 in Rochester Illinois.
enjoy your time at home.
Sorry to be a downer, but WOW announced today that they're pulling service to St. Louis, Cincinnati and Cleveland from Reykjavik Keflavik, as well as making DFW and JFK service seasonal. They did, however, increase service to Vancouver B.C. during summer and added Orlando to their network beginning December 18.
Welcome back to the states!!!
Iceland oddly enough doesn't seem to be that cold in the winter. I sometimes look at the temperatures comparing it to Canada, and Canada is definitely colder lol. But nice to see you guys back in US!
Iceland's in the edge of a warm current that peels out of the Gulf of Mexico and drifts up round Scotland and the northern end of Norway. That brings in some extra warmth. Also, Iceland and the UK are surrounded by water in general and water's got a lot of specific heat capacity so warms up and cools down more slowly given the same heat input / loss rate. If you check the weather for Edmonton, Alberta, and for Leeds, England, you'll see -16°C to -7°C in January and +12°C to +23°C in July in the landlocked one and +2°C to +7°C in January and +13°C to +21°C in July and August for the one surrounded by ocean. If you go the other way, you get Omsk, -22 to -13 in January and +14 to +25 in July.
I was in Iceland 18 months ago just a day or two after they had experienced a record 1 day snowfall of 50cms (nearly 2 feet) but within 4 days it had almost all gone.
I asked why it melted so quickly and it was patiently explained to me (I was probably the 20th to ask the question that week) that the island is geologically very young (a 15M year old toddler) and still actively growing. This results in the famous volcanic activity (remember Eyjafjallajokull?) and virtually unlimited geo-thermal energy. Effectively the island has underfloor heating so although the snow melts a little from the top under a watery sun it really thaws from the bottom up.
Canada is not only a huge country on a huge continent, without the warming effect of the Gulf Stream that keeps the climates of Iceland and our UK so much less severe, but it also has no "underfloor heating". Beautiful country though, and full of really nice people - I have yet to meet a Canadian I did not like.
Nice Vid Possum's : )
I'm feeling Prettyyy Prettyyyyyyyyyyy Pretty good😉
I'm following you from Egypt but I want to know where you are from 🙂🇪🇬
Welcome home.
You're from St. Louis.......... OK, well that explains a LOT, especially for the dude!!!!!!
meaning?
At a number of Canadian airports I've been, those plastic bags are free as well. Perhaps I should stock up with those bags just in case!
Look so tired and cold
Sadly wow is shutting down it’s STL - Iceland direct flight. But Chicago will still be running so pretty close.
barbi in Nashville? Don't forget the pineapple, Allison
I watched 2 long movies on my last flight 🤗
Welcome back home hope to see some videos as you guys are resting.......how long will you be in USA???
Cold in Iceland? Who knew? You think they would give you some sort of clue as to the weather there.
Whats the best food you have discovered on your travels and what would you consider as being the least appealing foodstuffs?
It's not ok that the staff is rude but it's amazing that they take so many precations, that don't happen in my country
huiiii
Love the vlog as always guys! Random question - but do you have some kind of holder that you use to mount your camera when you're driving or is it just balanced on the dash?
Come on down to ATL!
You do not recognise kilos after all the time you spend in Europe? Easy way to remember is:-
Two and a quarter pounds of jam
Make about a kilogramme
I have to work it out the other way as I do not really understand pounds and ounces, though some of my older French relatives still call 500g "un livre" which translates as "a pound" in English (both for weight and currency).
My understanding as to Iceland being a hub has to do with two engine planes. True?
ERIC!! You said "bomb residue" I'm amazed that you weren't pounced on and taken to Guantanamo
😄💣
Weird - everyone seems to have had a terrible experience with customs entering the US. When I left Heathrow I made a mistake about having my bag checked and tagged properly (inadvertently missed the correct queue somehow). While I was in the departure lounge my name was called over the speaker and a woman made me take everything out of my backpack and asked me where I had stayed in London, why I was there and who packed my bag. All the while there were two soldiers on either side of her with automatic weapons eyeballing me. Made me really uncomfortable. When I got to San Francisco the customs official asked a few quick questions, smiled and said "Welcome home, have a nice day!".
Wow cool I didn’t know you were married!!! Cute!!
In 1995 I took my 74 year old mum to Nashville for a treat as she was feeling down. Neither of us had flown before. At this time AA had a direct flight from London to Nashville so we went with them. When they came round with the customs form Mum was asleep so I filled it in. When we got to Nashville an official came round and asked if the answers on the form were correct and I told him they were. He went away and Mum asked what he wanted. I explained that he was asking if we had any prohibited items such as cigarettes, booze, meat or fruit. At this point Mum gave a start and said that there were two apples left in the bowl so she had put them in her bag and forgotten them. They were still there. I had visions of a big fine or even being deported.
When we got to the desk the same man was there so I explained straight away what had happened. We produced two wrinkled apples from the bag and gave them to him. He said that I had had my chance to declare them, gave me a strong lecture on the perils of importing fruit and dropped them in a bin. Fortunately he let us off without any further action. I’d like to say that Mum had learnt her lesson but the next year she had a couple of pieces of KFC in her bag. However I had learnt my lesson and declared them. They let us keep them.
So not all Customs officials are rude and unfriendly.
Didn't WOW airlines go under?
I want to go to Iceland badly 😀😀😀😎😎😎
