Sublime. This is the original version, written and recorded by Tony Joe White. Tim McGraw popularized it in his 1997 record. McGraw’s version is too mellow. Tony’s voice is profound and touching.
This is one of the most beautiful, touching, songs I have ever heard . I was watching That Nashville Music, from 1977, on RFD TV, and I had never heard it before. Not only did this song touch me deeply, I could tell the person singing it was emotionally involved with this song. After reading the program description, I found out it was Tony Joe White. I immediately searched for this song, and found out who he was. This is a once in a lifetime song. I am sorry to read, Mr. White has passed from this life, to the next. May God bless you, Mr. White , and hopefully someday, if I am worthy of entering the Kingdom of Heaven, I might be fortunate enough, to see, and hear you, play this amazing, beautiful song.
