I truly applaud Santa Monica for what they did with Odin. Almost every video I see someone always says “I don’t understand what the problem is with given Odin what he wants, he seems pretty reasonable”. The first thing he does in the game is try to threaten and manipulate Kratos but when he doesn’t fall for it, sicks Thor on him to then manipulate his son. This is the same man who killed his father for power and killed all the giants because they wouldn’t give him what he wanted and he couldn’t manipulate them. Yeah, definitely give that guy literally infinite knowledge of everything. He’s a true master manipulator when people blatantly ignore everything he did and thinks he’s trustworthy. Also it’s not ambiguous because they said every realm would fall except Asgard.
3:20 You guys are absolutely killing it. I keep coming back to your old videos over and over again because no one does it like you two. Keep killing it boys
I pretty much agree with your list! I would move Gna and Hrolf down more because they pissed me off but I agree with everything else. I personally found a lot of the bosses ridiculously easy as I did all the side stuff I could before continuing with the main story, so I was beefed up. Heimdall suffered the most from this however I still enjoyed his fight. Great list guys! Love your vids 🖤
Probably my favorite boss is the monster that fights you while being partially stuck in another realm idk but something about that concept is so badass
Great video, Guys! Again, I haven't played the game, but I like hearing your thoughts on the bosses. Generally, I'm more of a fan of mechanically-rich battles than spectacle fights (I've never been a fan of QTEs), but, occasionally, there are exceptions (Giygas from Earthbound and Omega Flowery from Undertale ranking highly among those). Anyway, I'm enjoying your content as always and look forward to your future uploads!
I really do wish this game understood the quality over quantity concept. I would vastly have preferred 5-10 amazing big epic fights over so many boring ones. Even the first God of War has only 3 bosses but they are super memorable for me. Thor really did carry the game for me with his fights and story. Crazy how the last 3 God of War games best fights are usually agreed to be the first (Ascension, 4, and Ragnarok).
tbh i just think they should’ve put less effort into side content maybe and more into the main stuff. also the main story could shed a couple hours in the atreus parts maybe??
8:25 holy shit that was a horrible mimir impression, worse than the one Atreus tried to do. idk what accent that was but it sure as shit wasnt scottish 😂 good video tho 👍
Small suggestion. Be cool to hear both your opinions for each pick. Just cut back your dialouge times for each other. I know i can't be the only One who wants to hear yall opinions
definitely were a couple of emotional moments cuz of the music. probably the parts that hit me hardest were kratos almost touching the light of alfheim again, the wolves going into the sky to chase the moon or whatever, and kratos comforting atreus before sleeping for the last battle
My Personal Ranking of the Bosses from God of War Ragnarok: 20)Enemy Reskin Bosses 19)Ancients 18)Phantoms 17)Huntresses 16)Bjorn 15)Trolls 14)Grýla 13)Dragons 12)Drakes 11)Dreki 10)Hrist & Mist 9)Gná 8)Berserkers 7)Vanadis 6)King Hrólf Kraki 5)Odin 4)Heimdall 3)Nídhögg 2)Garm 1)Thor
27:20 this beats out Poseidon from god of war 3? Poseidon fight was a complete marvel and is still memorable to this day. I simply cant say that for the thor fight in the opening.
@CCscrew then it's clear you didn't play the game as much since he really packs a punch on the higher difficulties, and most of his attacks are really hard to dodge, like I died 10 times in the Gaia hand phase
Dio: Oh ? A Ragnorok ranking Jack & Alex ? Instead of a sekiro boss ranking you are ranking this game of the year 2022 worthy game instead the masterpiece of sekiro that won game of the year award in the previous game awards eventhough you ranked all souls games like a child being picky at a candy store which flavour is the best and yet you chose Ragnorok ?! Sorry just making a jojo reference but I liked this ranking and loved the game itself and elden ring. Just noticed no sekiro ranking since you ranked all souls games eventhough I'm well aware sekiro plays a bit different then the souls games and bloodborne but still I'm interested in seeing a Sekiro ranking. Just saying. Keep it up the good work with the rankings Jack & Alex :)
imo the first Phantom fights are the worst thing in the game (well, aside from Atreus' fighting mechanics lmao). Attacking a goddamned SPHERE for god knows how long, just to break totems afterwards? It just.... suck!
i frame/roll dodges are just objectively bad game design. it’s the reason why elden ring boss design sucks so much. it’s weird seeing alex defend it so hard.
The Odin take was the most brain dead one. The mask gives him a "final form" 💀 what are you fucking 5. Not ever boss is gonna have a gory finisher. Mechanically the boss is great and imo pretty intense. Guess u were playing on easy or overleveled? cuz he was one out of the 2 main story bosses that actually was able to kill me. I think his fight was up there with the best
@@Cytonox Damn never saw this. I came at u pretty hard lmao. I stand by my point tho. Odin gaining a "final form" defeats the purpose of the masks endless possibilities, it's answers remaining a mystery that Arteus prevents Odin from solving is so much more impactful. Odin lost as soon as he ran out of people to manipulate, and the final phases are just his last desperate flailing attempts to kill you. It works with the character, and the boss is mechanically well done and fits narratively. I'm sorry if you were let down but...this game was obviously going for a different ending than god of war 3's outcome. If you love the gory fast paced thrill ride through the Greek pantheon more that's all fine and dandy but I think it's really funny how developers said over and over how they were changing god of war to fit the new pantheon, giving the franchise new life in a new story/gameplay format...and people like you are still over here on some "Dude why didn't he enter his god mode phase🤓" type shit.

thanks for the suggestion bro, i think id be down to do that eventually we never thought of that haha
@@Cytonox For sure man Keep up the great work
You guys forget the soundtrack as well. When Thor and kratos throw their weapons and create that lightning tree, the music kicks in harder
alex here, to be honest i don’t remember a single song from the soundtrack. just didn’t really stand out all that much or was too quiet to notice
definitely were a couple of emotional moments cuz of the music. probably the parts that hit me hardest were kratos almost touching the light of alfheim again, the wolves going into the sky to chase the moon or whatever, and kratos comforting atreus before sleeping for the last battle

poseidon was both of our least favorite fight in god of war 3, lol. we made a video on it if you’re curious why
Poseidon is so overrated, he literally has 2 or 3 extremely telegraphed attacks and that's it. Sure there's it's a cool spectacle but a pathetic boss.
@CCscrew then it's clear you didn't play the game as much since he really packs a punch on the higher difficulties, and most of his attacks are really hard to dodge, like I died 10 times in the Gaia hand phase
In 2018 Kratos fell from a dragon onto the temple bridge and his sheild didnt break how does it break so easily ?
Fimbulwinter weakens magic and gear
@@jellyjohn7881 looooool thanks for that

Did you pronounce it ARCH-type? Archetype.
Boston fights are better than 2018 but still kinda lame compared to the older trilogy
i frame/roll dodges are just objectively bad game design. it’s the reason why elden ring boss design sucks so much. it’s weird seeing alex defend it so hard.
So you hated the bosses because you don’t know how to doge roll?
I agree that odins fight was disappointing and the ending
nah cap
Travelers are really fun… u’r just bad.
Plus gna at number 9 is ridiculous
my mistake i should have taken your opinion into consideration it wont happen again sir
after my first deth seem easier to beat the boss.
Tell that to Hrolf lmao
