U might be fighting tears but yr soul shines thru. Wonderful you've found music that can have such an impact & leave u with a peaceful feeling & a soothed soul.
The greatest vocal performance I have ever heard is Pavarotti singing "Una Furtiva Lacrima". it is here on RUclips. Look for a pic of him in a brown vest. Brings me to tears ever time i watch it. Thank You for reacting to Pavarotti!
My grandfather on my mother's side died when she was 13. One of the stories I have heard about him is that he would spend his last nickle if he had to, to go listen to opera. This kind of music has brought men stronger than you or I to a mass of tears.
Enrico Caruso made grown men Cry after every Opera! He started this type of singing & was the first blockbuster from the Golden Age! His voice was even more powerful than Pavarotti who knows he's the best! The song " Caruso " is a dedication to him Caruso was also the greatest actor w8 his singing
@Marie Whitbread it was supposed to say 'about' Caruso lol.... uhhggg talk-to-text!😫 Before he died Lucio Dalla came to Capri and sang Caruso for us during one of our big festivals... I always prefer Lucio Dalla's version. An interesting side note - in addition to his performance in Capri, I bumped into him once in Rome in the late 80s. I was walking around the corner going one way and he was running around the corner coming the other way... running away from paparazzi chasing him with their cameras! I didn't even know who it was until after the fact... It was like a hit and run! I said to by fiance Massimo "what a jerk, he didn't even stop to apologize" and Massimo replied "Tesura, that was Lucio Dalla and I think he's got bigger problems right now"😂 I said, oh.... I thought he looked familiar Lol 😂😂😂
My father would play this song when I was growing up. He recently survived the Covid Virus, and is 82 years old. He can barely breath but he is still here. I thank God he is still here and getting better. You, young man, are lovely...from the daughter of immigrant Italians.
You are such a treasure. I am so lucky to have stumbled upon your site. I saw Pavarotti sing many times, and each time was a revelation. I am an old man now, but seeing you, I know the future is in good hands!
The writer of this song, Lucio Dalla (from Bologna, northern Italy), wrote this while staying in one of the rooms where Enrico Caruso, former famous tenor (From Neaples, southern Italy), spent the final days of his life. Caruso was 48-years-old when he died, and a few years before Caruso died, he married Dorothy Park Benjamin who was 20 years younger. They had a baby girl they named Gloria. Lucio Dalla wrote this song while imagining how Caruso, who knew he was dying, would have said goodbye to his young wife - the love of his life. curiosity: in sicilian dialect the word caruso means (ragazzo) boy.
brother I love your reactions .. The emotions I see from are so true ... I'm like you love Pavarotti and get the same feeling ... Keep reacting, keep enjoying life and get your grandparents to react with you on Pavarotti that would be cool ... Try Pavarotti ft Elton john wild horses lovely song .. Stay safe, stay strong brother from 🇬🇧✌
James, you finally listened to Caruso! I was waiting for you to do that since I discovered your channel, where you listened to him singing Nessum Dorma, and I watch that video soooo many times! Also, this song is so beautiful, that when Pavarotti songs it, it almost hurts, so please don't fight your tears. Keep plugging baway, friend. Much love and God bless.
He was the best modern tenor, period. I love the fact that you react to more of him, because most people only do "Nessun Dorma". If you really love his voice, go and check any od these: Vesti la giuba, Miserere, La donna e mobile, Una Furtiva lacrima, Volare. He was also know for singing with other genres, check this same song with him and Lucio Dalla, or his song Miss Sarajevo with Bono from U2. He made a lot a lot of music.

I love that you love Luciano Pavarotti. It is the miracle of music, isn't it? And it is the miracle of the beautiful this man was blessed with. You should get an album of his most famous pieces...he was really incredible. Keep up the great reactions! God Bless You!
Knowing the story of the lyrics..I cannot stop to cry...the immagine of Caruso, beside the gulf of Sorrento..with his wife..telling her he’s dying..while she cries...singing “I love you so much”...that’s it’s out of my possibilities to control my emotions..Amazing Lucio Dalla, the song writer, and amazing Luciano Pavarotti..
This is one of my favorite pieces from him! And with the English subtitle you can finally understand something! ;-) When I listen to him, tears come to my eyes again and again because it's so beautiful how he sings!
I m italian and is absolutely amazing how Luciano is able to manage some words in strictly napoletan dialect despite he is from Modena........GOAT!!!!!!
This is about the greatest tenor ever before Pavarotti- Enrico Caruso coming to America. Italians sing opera tunes like they were pop tunes- because they were back in the day. You have a beautiful aura around you!
@Marie Whitbread It's my understanding that "Te voglio bene" is reserved for family members and close friends; whereas one would say "Ti amo" to a spouse.
Don't fight the tears my man. Let them fall as you take in some of the most beautiful music ever written and the finest tenor of our time. This is what music is supposed to do. Move you this way. You're not the only one that feels those tears well up over this.
WE are all richer for having enjoying classical music. You are deeper and feel more than people who can't appreciate this type of music.I discovered Pavarotti when I was 18 and no one else could understand my passion for his voice. I feel sorry for them for they will never feel as we do or as deeply as we do. Love your reactions. Truly!!!
My Mom was always a huge opera fan and we used to kid her about it but as I grew I have grown to greatly appreciate it as well. I’m glad you do too. You should check out Renee Fleming.
It's the power of art, baby. Musical, visual, tactile, whatever it is, it can touch us regardless of where we come from. It's so important every variety of it available.
Absolutely Beautiful!!! So many emotions, such Passion, so healing right down to your soul !!❤❤ ❤❤ Never tire of watching you fall in love with this music!!! Love to meet your Grandparents, they must be very very special!
When your reaction video popped up I was happy you choosed Pavarotti again. Your channel is the best because your reactions are honest from the heart. It is also a joy to see that Pavarotti touches your soul every time. The same happens to me.
If you don't know, Caruso (whom the song is about) was an Italian tenor opera singer who performed in America. He was one of the best. Before our time, but I think you can find very old recordings of him when the record player was new tech.
I absolutely love your genuine reactions. I was brought up listening to lots of musical genres, including opera, and so it was something that I knew from an early age. That doesn't diminish the way I feel every time I hear Pavarotti sing. He had a magical way of imparting the emotion behind the lyrics, even for people who don't understand the language he is singing. If a man sang to me the way Pavarotti did, good lord, I'd be his for life. lol
I am in tears, it happens to me every time I hear him sing. He shows SO MUCH emotion in his eyes and face when he sings. Love your reaction my friend. You are an old soul and I will never tire of watching your reactions to any song that you listen to. Stay strong, safe and well
this song actually depicts the last days of Enrico Caruso, one of the greatest tenors, very much acclaimed in the US (here the reference of the nights in America, where his career was booming). It was written by Lucio Dalla, another cornerstone of the italian music, 65 years after Caruso's death in the very hotel where the tenor died, an hotel with a wonderful view on the gulf of Naples. The woman in this song should be Dorothy Park Benjamin, a former student of the tenor and the last of his many lovers, with which he had a daughter, Gloria. The tenor, quite sick at that time, probably knew he would not last long (and that's why the reference to the death in this song) although young, he was only 48.
Bro. I been listening to pavaroti since I was 14. Imm 44 now he hits everyone's souls all music is good but classical is where it began and ultimately I think that we all feel something in our hearts when we hear classical music. I have known full-blown metalheads little closet Opera fans stay strong and keep learning about music bro we all love you man
U said u clearly, It's something so beautiful that it can't be expressed in words and makes your heart ache because of it. I guess somethings are best left unsaid" -red Shawshank redemption, it touches your heart soul and spirit makes you feel free. Great reaction. Pavarotti can break any person down. Crying with you too.
I was brought up on Opera from a toddler by my parents. I lost my beloved dad two years ago, listening to opera brings me so close to him, it heals me. You have blown me away Jb❤️
What a beautiful soul you have, I thank God right now for this technology that we could connect in this little way, over something so beautiful and fragile in this up is down world. You got a big heart, I can see, and it's still tender, not hardened by life that does all it can to turn men's hearts into stone. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Cheers.
I've seen a lot of reaction videos ...they are new to me ....but you have just the best .....your face gives everything away ...beautiful....more please
"Vesti La Giubba" and "Non! Pagliacci Non-Son!" with English subtitles, both posted by Mata Tosti. These two songs are from an actual opera, and you will see some of the opera. Pavarotti is playing a professional clown who has just learned that his wife Clementine is cheating on him. But he must go on and perform for his audience, despite his broken heart. I know you will love it! OH! I would love to see your grandparent's reaction!! Please do it, you will have the video forever!
beautiful music ...b universal language no need to understand words...everyone sings in heaven ... god sang the creation into being....lovely to see, and share your heart with us
So glad you feel able to share you feelings reacting to the greatest, cleanest, soul searching rendition of Caruso you will ever hear. That we are blessed to have shared this world with Pavarotti and are able to listen to his legacy is a joy, a gift and an experience that touches the soul. You know that now.
It’s 8.30 am in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 and I just go on YT to see what’s happening and this vid was in my feed ., so I’m Playing it., what a eay to start the day !! This is my absolute favourite song that Pavarotti sings, the story is true and he sings it with such passion! RIP Mr Pavarotti,, thank you ‘
My folks had a cat they named Lucci. He was adopted on the side of the interstate and lived until he he was twenty. Bless you brother and thanks for your content.
Dear brother. I'm white. Why do I say that? I'm 62. Live in Holland. Musician and played in many bands. Black and/or white. Your reflection of what happened to you listening 'Caruso' is so mighty pure. So sincere. You do not have to quit anything. Stay the one you are. Let it come to you. JC had to suffer once and was and is there for us. And so you are. And so are others. May your live be blessed forever. Day in and day out. And when you go idem dito. Big hug and I will crusch you.
Hang in there, James. I love your reactions. You are a tenderhearted, genuine person that has been through a lot in your life. You bring joy to many people, which is my goal as a reactor as well. Pavarotti is a legend, possibly the best tenor to ever walk the planet. And he sang with such heart and emotion. Please do bring your grandparents on to react to it. That would be awesome. God bless you and your channel, friend.
I just found your channel and please continue making this type of content. It’s alright if you pause the video... listening to your thoughts is why we’re here. 💜
If you liked this you should try Jussi Björling, Pavarotti has said that he was a huge inspiration for him and that he himself is a mere mortal in comparison to Jussi and that whenever he would sing a song for the first time he'd picture himself how Jussi would sing it and then try to do it as close to that as possible.
Hi James, Jonathan Antoine sings this too. You should check it out. Actually Charlotte and Jonathan sang this at the BGT semi finals you should give that a shot too. Don't understand all this blocking, you think the artists would feel proud that people want to show how much they appreciate their music.
@Marie Whitbread Wow, don't you sound like a lovely warm human being. You should watch Jonathan being interviewed , you could learn a thing or two about how to be humble. I assume that is why Placido Domingo had this "rank amateur "on as a guest then. I suppose Rollando Villazon doesn't know what he is talking about either then when he met Jonathan to give him a "masterclass" and called him astonishing and amazing and he wouldn't change a thing. You know, it costs nothing to be nice, it will give you far more satisfaction in the long run. So please, in the kindest possible way may I suggest you get back in your box until you learn some manners.
I see your musical growth journey, and I see myself reflected on it. Arts are the real form of the individualism. The shivers in the spine caused by all these masterpieces have no price, right? I love your choices and how you navigate each song, you are probably one of the most genuine and pleasant reactions channel to see around. All my gratitude and best wishes!
I like to think that when an artist moves you that intensely, he or she is in tune with your soul, and you with theirs. These life "particles" are floating around us. They are the voices of our ancestors and all of creation. They never die. Pavarotti found you James, and you found him. It was meant to be. Reach out for all the particles you can, for as long as you can. There's wisdom in them. 🌻
There are a number of fabulous tenors from the 20th century, each with a slightly different tonal quality, which would make them suited to different roles. But none has quite the "ping" in his voice that Pavarotti did. No one I'd rather hear singing traditional Italian songs like this!
Dude, I'm a recent subscriber of yours and I have seen a few of your reactions. You are really "true". If you are ever here in Rome, Italy, during the summer, I'll hook you up with open air opera tickets. And afterwards, we'll have a beer. ;)
Please stay tuned, your videos are so inspiring because you are so authentical right from the bottom of your hart! Do not quit and just go on. Not only for you as well as for others who watch your videos.
Just make sure to save your videos, so they don't get lost if something dumb happens. Even though there's so much material out there you could probably easily make up for it, lol! Remember to check out "The Killers", maybe spaceman, mr.brightside, or all these things I've done...you don't have to upload your reaction if you don't want to, but I think you might enjoy them. Your reactions are great, keep it up!
DON'T QUIT! I love your kind and beautiful heart (and your face too). Hugs.
U might be fighting tears but yr soul shines thru. Wonderful you've found music that can have such an impact & leave u with a peaceful feeling & a soothed soul.
Amen!!!

You have a beautiful soul, my brother...
There will never be another Pavarotti. There are other masterful singers but they don't move me the way he does. This is heaven.

@Marie Whitbread It's my understanding that "Te voglio bene" is reserved for family members and close friends; whereas one would say "Ti amo" to a spouse.
@Marie Whitbread Yes, Neapolitan is an Italian dialect; but, truth be known, all languages are collections of dialects.
@@desperateambrose5373 like Welsh, they are musical languages

There is a very beautiful version of this song by Lara Fabian, a fantastic singer. You’ll love her.

I had been waiting for you to react to this song!!! ❤️❤️💯💯🙏 Pavarotti is simply the best 😍
Beautiful words, beautiful reaction.
Awsome awsome voice, one of my favorite singers
I was as moved by your reaction as I was by Pavarotti's performance.
Your soul brother is so very very old
Older than you may ever know
If you are touched by this...
God knows where WE are from?...
Dude, I'm a recent subscriber of yours and I have seen a few of your reactions.
You are really "true".
If you are ever here in Rome, Italy, during the summer, I'll hook you up with open air opera tickets.
And afterwards, we'll have a beer. ;)
So glad for your life! What a joy to share music with you!
Hang in there. You have a beautiful soul, it shines through.
Wow, that was absolutely breathtaking!! Thank you for introducing me to this piece!
Quote: "If this is what heaven sounds like please take me there now." I can only say amen to that.

Peace be with you brotha. I agree his voice sounds like Heaven sent. I absolutely love watching your reactions and especially reactions to him.
Your words and responses are priceless!
Check out Lara Fabian singing this. Also, her singing Je Suis Malade - (I am SICK)
Hes singing about the greatest Opera singer of them All! Enrico Caruso!
How great that you showed the lyrics in English. This is one of my favorite songs of his, even though I didn't understand the words.
The Killers!! I hope he does as well.
You need to react to more Classical Music! I Love you're reactions!
Pls don't quit. Pls, you are such a beautiful person !❤
