Mariam, thank you so much for sharing your story and encouraging others. God was definitely speaking to you. Teni is speaking in English and Yoruba. The Yoruba lyrics also say that "I rejoiced with others when good things happened to them, but now I too can finally rejoice. At last, my day of rejoicing has come." All the best to you and congratulations on finishing your program. God bless!
I am so grateful to read this testimony, I celebrate your wins. May your continually be a showcase of God's greatness, many will ask you to show them This Great God who is in charge of life 🙏🏾💕 Love from Nigeria 🇳🇬

As someone who landed the soul of America in 2019 with no family and friends, to come study away from your family for the first time this song made me pull through it was difficult. Still listening to it in 2024 and packed full with all the nostalgia from 2019. But I succeeded completed my degree program working with a good job and now a legal resident. Thanks Teni😢😢
You make me a proud ondo man.. Nothing like appreciating your roots.. Olu maintain, lord of Ajasa were the last prominent ondo people that try putting us on the map.. Wo shey Omo ye mi
Jubril Esan actually dont forget Danny young, chinko Ekun is from ondo state as well Ikare Akoko precisely and small Doctor as well..and so on...not olu or Ajasa alone are representing ondo state...
In 2019, I heard this song! At the time, I was in a cross road not knowing where to turn or which direction to head to as my life felt stucked! I wanted to transition to a different career and I was really doubting myself but then I heard this song and it was all I needed. A lot of people were discouraging me but I knew what I felt in my heart, and I had no doubt God placed that dream and vision for a purpose! Fast forward to 2024, I changed careers and went to study nursing and now I’m on my way to pursuing my Medical degree to be a Medical Doctor! Believe in yourself and don’t let anyone discourage you, the only limitation is the mind!
oww my god... is that the happiest song ever created.... this is more than a song to me.... from an indian guy i will say soul sound is more than any language.... touched me so much... and thanks the artist to give this world something the world really needed

Yes I'm 4:12 I'm successful in this one life I've got yes im....
This is the Ondo dialect. I'll attempt to translate. Uyo Meyo lehun osan o kan mi o ee roughly translates to: The joy I'm feeling over great(wonderful) things that concern(pertain to) me.
Well done! For aptness, you could say 'The joy I'm feeling or my joyfulness over great things have finally happened to me. To paraphrase, 'Being joyful over good things, that is success, has been rewarded in life. Lovely, lovely song. I love Teni.
I am from the Caribbean St.Vincent and the Grenadines and her voice is chilling. There is something so beautiful when Africans sing songs in their respective natural tongue. Amazing song to add to "case" thats already in my listing.
Why make me cry Teni...mom and dad I appreciate guy's for bring me to this world. Lord make her grow more to give us more motivational song to keep our hustle going.
First time I heard this was on your grad video you put on instagram. Hoped you'd make a single of it some day and here it is, still gives the chills just like the short skit you did that day. You are a blessing to our time. Keep shining girl.
"Everybody is born a winner..... If you workhard you can climb the mountain top" Thank you for this Teni!!!!!!! This song sure brings tears of joy anytime I listen to it.

I from Madagascar 🇲🇬, I discovered this song in my random spotify playlist and my tears came up from the first note and as soon as I heard her voice... Since then I have been listening to it over and over again at least 10 times a day. This song touched the deepest part of my soul.

Who is here August 2019? My testimony goes, a year ago I was in labor and using my headphone to listen to good music while going through the childbirth process. Teni! Uyo Meyo came on and my spirit and soul lifted. I had no idea what the meaning of the song was at the time, I broke down in tears when I heard "Don't let them tell you, you can't. Just keep on pushing on..." My water broke and our son was delivered safely, no intervention. Teni, you are God sent.
I have never in my life listen to a song repeatedly for FOUR HOURS (4 good hours unstoppable). A complete song that involves the mix of culture, great lyrics, outstanding composition, emotion, motivation e.t.c. I can't be proud of you enough, I know my late grandmother will be proud of you in the grave. How I wish you could give us a remix fit King Sunny Ade, or Asha, or Beautiful Nubia. Teniola wa dai gboo omo loogun.
"Wan ro pe ótan shugbon olórun so pe oku Wan ro pe ótan shugbon olórun so pe oku eeeeeh" 👆Theses lines melt my soul, when all thinks all is over, God show himself in his mighty power and proof who he is as the divine.
From Ghana and I don't understand a word here except that I saw a lil translation somewhere on Instagram today, something to do with celebrating with others. But you got in me a fan from Ghana already. Go higher Teni. By the way I saw u sing this song with the cavemen from one of your Instagram posts and wanted to quench my thirst, that brought me here
Wow. There's something about language. Nigerian artists embraced their local languages plus hard work and excellent production. This is why they are excelling. Did anybody noticed she eulogised her dad towards the end? Some message can never be passed across except in the local language. Meanwhile this is on repeat till God knows when. ' ha won l'pe tan sugbon oluwa s'ope pku...'
Though I don’t understand anything, this got me looking back my life and imagining where i am going Teni Mwari vakuwedzere ( May God bless you Teni) Love from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼

We who dont understand the language, but a drawn to listen to it over and over again. It is possible , maybe its in our DNA our generational history, where we are connected.
I came here after Kingdom's Performance on Nigerian Idols... I'm sorry if u not spiritual but Teni carries an anointing in her life... All her songs they go straight to the heart and SOUL ,DAAAMMNNN
osayande esosa david I have played this song more than 10 times today. Am from Rwanda, I don’t understand anything she is saying. The song is so in tune with my soul 👌👌
Her vibrato voice is very soulful. I'm grateful for the new wave of Nigerian musicians. Teni the entertainer, Odunsi the engine, Tay iwar, Johnny Drille, Falana, A'rese, Nonso Amadi .... Then old artists recruiting into the new wave i.e Simi.
Teni, Teni....Listening to this song with tears... I wish i understand Yoruba.. Even if i don't i can feel this song down to my soul.. Your Voice is a blast.. 2019 I know you will do wonders.. Is not easy but you gonna grind through... God will see you through.. #SkyLevel...

I never comment on RUclips but today, I will make an exception.
For three years, I fought to get a scholarship to study in my dream university in my dream country to do my dream master. I had no money to study, NONE!
I would work my butt off doing internships that I was either not paid for or very little paid for. I had no social life and almost no friends.
But I knew that this was a little sacrifice compared to what I would have if I was admitted to the university. And I was granted the scholarship!!
The day before I travelled to pursue my master , I lost my brother. I was devasted. I cried and asked God “Why are you doing this to me? Why now? Why?”.
I was desperate and I thought I would never make it. My dream was starting with a nightmare.
Yet, I did not give up.
Yesterday, I submitted my dissertation. This morning when I woke up, I discovered this song.
It is as if God was talking to me. I have been crying since then.
Believe people, believe! Believe in yourself, being in your strength and believe that if you put your heart into something, God will facilitate.
Love from Mali 🇲🇱
Mariam, thank you so much for sharing your story and encouraging others. God was definitely speaking to you. Teni is speaking in English and Yoruba. The Yoruba lyrics also say that "I rejoiced with others when good things happened to them, but now I too can finally rejoice. At last, my day of rejoicing has come." All the best to you and congratulations on finishing your program. God bless!
I'm so proud of you to see this wallah especially from our maliba

As someone who landed the soul of America in 2019 with no family and friends, to come study away from your family for the first time this song made me pull through it was difficult. Still listening to it in 2024 and packed full with all the nostalgia from 2019. But I succeeded completed my degree program working with a good job and now a legal resident. Thanks Teni😢😢

Beautiful
Thanks for the interpretation. No wonder I wonder I was so attached to the song.
This is the Ondo dialect. I'll attempt to translate. Uyo Meyo lehun osan o kan mi o ee roughly translates to: The joy I'm feeling over great(wonderful) things that concern(pertain to) me.
Thank you so much
Well done! For aptness, you could say 'The joy I'm feeling or my joyfulness over great things have finally happened to me. To paraphrase, 'Being joyful over good things, that is success, has been rewarded in life. Lovely, lovely song. I love Teni.
You tried but it really means: As I rejoice over people's good news, now it's my turn to share my good news.

Hallelujah

From Ghana and I don't understand a word here except that I saw a lil translation somewhere on Instagram today, something to do with celebrating with others. But you got in me a fan from Ghana already. Go higher Teni. By the way I saw u sing this song with the cavemen from one of your Instagram posts and wanted to quench my thirst, that brought me here
The song is power packed. Please read through comments. Some people have translated parts of it. It is much more that you know.
Yesso, She hailed her late Dad, a Great Army General and elite educationist.
Though I don’t understand anything, this got me looking back my life and imagining where i am going
