@@zrzirox1605 I have a better theory about that, I think Gogeta actually erased the evil from Broly, but, the point is, Broly was never an pure evil guy, and it's most because of his father, its not his fault So thats why he still takes the damage from the move, because it erased the little "evil" that was inside Broly's heart

There is a theory wherethe reason Gogeta smiles after every fight is because he enjoyed and appreciated his short lived life.
That and the main reason behind him smiling was that he was able to save the boy inside Janemba who was consumed by evil.
