Katrin's time was the 181st best time. The strategy was really poor. But she's awesome and her combined scores, even with the 20.5 debacle was good enough for 25th place for the entire Open. Congrats to Sara for her 1st place 2020 Open victory!
People judging her strategy is kind of funny. Maybe comparing with other athletes is not indeed the best, but for her might be. Everybody knows how much Katrin struggles with RMU, and I'm pretty sure that she and her coach know what's best at the moment...
She's an absolute beast and I'm a HUGE fan, but I have to say her muscle ups definitely need some work, mostly the kipping portion. Looks to me like she loses s lot of momentum by letting the legs separate.
Are there any rules concerning the locking of arms at the top position of the muscle up? Her arms appear to be at an angle and she doesn't fully extend/lock her arms? I don't know the rules, but they look incomplete?
This seems like a terrible strategy. I guess it was good enough to lock up a qualifying spot, but standing around between sets of MUs is just silly. Also, that wide lock out seems pretty shady to me. I think the idea is that you lock out and can hold yourself up on the rings at the top... because her hands go wide when you locks her elbows, she is basically already falling down for the next rep... Could she pause at the moment of lock out and hold her weight? I doubt it. Not sure how the standard will be interpreted, but I'd be concerned if I was her... bout 1/2 of those reps look pretty shaky.
Hi Heather, you probably know that Ben Bergeron is k a t r i n s coach. When I say I taught him everything that's kind of a joke from the fifties that old people use. But I am his aunt and just love to brag about that. Lol :-)
Strategy seems flawed. Katrin could have gone quicker if she did wallball sets in between one of her 10 breaks on muscle ups. It was silly watching her break so many times and stare at the rings.
High rep muscle ups are her weakness which is why she needed to break soo much. She struggles to lock out the the dip and wall balls tax your triceps and hence will makes the lock out that much harder. That was the best strategy for her
@@sasha2794 I gotta agree with Blake on this one. I understand the thought process, But I would to have liked to see her toss a few wall balls instead of standing around or a few cal row, even if it was just 5 WB that woulda got rid of 50 instead of rechalking and shaking her arms out just to jump up and do 3 more MU. but OH well. she's fit as hell and going to the games anyways!
I agree, this is a workout where you don't have to do anything in any specific order. You should never be standing around waiting for fatigue to go away because there's other movements to be done.
So we all know Ben Bergeron failed the drug test in CrossFit so I wonder if he takes that knowledge and trains his athletes on how not to fail their drug test
This woman is looking more like a man everytime i see her. Sad because i can see she was good looking but this is what happens when you take too much steroids.

Great music and amazing effort.
Wallball is her strength! We love you Katrin!! Goooooo!

That's true I think the same thing
Good job Katrin.
All you coaches in this thread please post you video and display "Your" strategy!
Wall Balls were SICK! 120? Lordy!
Great performance Kat.

All good with me. She did good. Elbow extension is there.
I can see how well this sgrategy works.
I feel this is not the best strategy. Too much transition ...
Awesome job, if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything!
I thought my legs hurt after doing my wall balls..Hell my legs hurt more after watching her do hers!
How good!
Where do i get this music?

nice eye to catch that the rings had moved over the course of the WOD
No doubt.
why did she switch rings?!
D Douglas first set slipped and was uneven.
Morgan: I'm the fittest judge on Earth.
me: True that!
I taught my nephew, Benji-san everything he knows...
Ha. For real?
