It's not even new... I remember the second intifada (2000-2005)- There were a lot of Palestinian su*cide bombers in Israel in restaurants, buses, nightclubs, hotels, universities, and more (it happened when I was little and my parents made the mistake of leaving the TV on pretty much all the time, which I'll be honest, wasn't the smartest idea). I remember being extremely terrified.

Yes I saw this, they were leaving elderly or infirm people as bait.
Yep, they not only do that to increase casualties, but they also do it as bait for booby traps. Sometimes they will rig explosives to go off, and sometimes they will make have their terrorists waiting to ambush the IDF when they try to get the civilians out. They even dress them up sometimes to look like hostages, or leave recordings of Hebrew speaking or write messages on the walls in Hebrew to make the IDF think there are hostages in the building.
That's actually what happened when those three escaped hostages were mistakenly killed a few months ago. There had been all kinds of traps in the area, so the soldiers thought it was an ambush when the hostages came out asking for help. It was incredibly sad. They were so close to being saved.
Much respect for the IDF and the people of Israel....you can do no more.
