You don’t listen to this song.... you feel it
Fucking badass.. one of my favorite artists and I can't tell if I pissed the fuck off that he's not absolutely HUGE or if I'm happy that he's still kind of a hidden treasure. I just hope he's doing well and making a nice living at least because he's as soulful as anyone that's ever been super successful and famous. He's one of my very favorite players/singers/songwriters... he can do it all.. just brilliant!!!
hey Patrick, Amazon music algorithm put me on them shoes and i love this song, it reaches down somewhere and rings true
Exactly how I found him, and this song. It resonates with our past. First listen hit me over the head like a ton of bricks. So much emotion came out of nowhere. Thank you!
The first dates I had with my now wife were at that bar in Kent to watch Pat. Good times man.
I may never have found it without Pandora.
Yep, what a gem!
For me, too 🙂
Found it today thanks to pandora
Love this song !
Spotify radio mixes likely Black Keys is where this got to me and I was hooked from the first listen. Then I kept noticing almost every time a song comes on I'm really liking and check to see the artist it's Patrick Sweaney. This guy is awesome and I just found he's set to play in my hometown in about month and I am psyched!
Also I absolutely love the taped on pickups on that acoustic!
Man I wish this guy would come near Greenville SC.
Actual performance starts at 4:18 .
"You're welcome."
Thanks ❤️
That is musical magic
I was looking for matt Sweeney. Thoes shoes came on sounds like a classic
I was introduced to this song on a local, small town, terrestrial radio station that's scheduled to fold up in a few weeks or so because of things like Spotify and Pandora. It's still in their rotation as of now and it just played for possibly the last time. That little small town radio station was my algorithm. Gonna be sad to see it go.
All worship the algorithm I fuckin listened to that full album it got me through a bad breakup when I was low AF. I was high AF on heroin then, I’m seven years sober now. Still fuckin continues to jam.
wow! all wood and strings drenched with soul!
Favorite current blues musician. Keep on keeping on, Patrick, can't wait to see you again in Lancaster!
Thanks Spotify! Can't get enough of this song.
Love the honesty what a GREAT story!
Found this gem on pandora by chance. 10 seconds in.... WOW!
Seen him in concert last week in columbus ohio at rumba cafe...one of the best live performances ive seen!!
So excited to have Patrick at our venue Rustic Barn Pub in Troy,Ny on 11/7/16
some singers grab you, some music grabs you, some lyrics grab you-this absolutely punches you in the face!!
this is the real deal-thank you and your gifts to my ears. there is still hope for talented musicians after all....
I was a kid when black keys were my shit.
I became a man after listening to Patrick Sweany... Much love to black keys but Patrick had me at sleeping bag.
A 5 year old comment referring to childhood Black Keys enthusiasm.
Christ im getting old
@@tequilawhiskey yeah that comment had my mind blown as if I was watching a Vsauce video about Time
Super cool performance!
I BLAST them SHOES everytime it comes on!!!! GREAT PIECE!
If I may share my opinion....this song is one of Sweeneys best. I don't know if he actually wrote the lyrics, but they definitely speak volumes to me in this life. I have listened to every version of this song that is out there. But thee best version I've ever had the pleasure of listening to is the one that is SLOWED DOWN. In my opinion, this song is played too fast. It needs to slow its roll. You need to understand every word he sings because it's an iconic message this song is trying to convey.
Which version is that please?
@@dennisdimartino3177 the slowed version is called the 420 remix of 'them shoes', and it's amazing.
@@dennisdimartino3177 it's the (screwed) (mizzle 420 420 Remix). The artwork is a pic of a skeleton with an afro, smoking a Doobie. You can't miss it!
Did you check it out yet?
I found ya on RUclips, and it was "Them Shoes" that got me started, but man I'm a old guy, and you gotta good old time blues soul. I think I've listened to about every song they've got of you on RUclips, and I dig them all. Come on down to Santa Cruz man. 🎼🍽👣
Hope you're doing well and still discovering music friend
NPR World Café is where I discovered this gem
Love this !!! Patrick I'm sorry I just discovered you my brother ! But I've got a whole play list of you and black keys! Yall killed it together! And still killing it apart!
I really find it hard to believe i could pick up that exact same guitar and make it sound shitty. This dude rules.
Love that small-bodied guild guitar
I found him thru Pandora. Been a big fan ever since.
This is going to sound weird, but for a second, I think you took on the shape of a unicorn.
Lmfao. Hella found this song on Pandora a couple years ago.
Thx scotty👓🎞
Interesting story, awesome song.
The interview is interesting, but for those you who have already seen it and want to skip to the song: 4:17
Found this on Amazon music.. trailing Black Keys and White stripes😊
PLEASE COME TO ARDMORE OKLAHOMA!!
Thanks figgy. 😏
found this on my blind melon radio station on Pandora
Galaxie is my favorite blind melon
lol I even discovered him on sportify
You are badass
This would be even more kickass if played on a 12 string!!!!
Yea, I liked that!
He's a Pandora rock star
Pandora brought me here 😸
found him on XM Queens of the Stoneage channel
could anyone tell me more about that little box he has as a bass drum?? i;m guessing it's just a normal box with a pickup installed and plugged in to an amp/mixer
Queens of the Stone Age Channel on Pandora brought me here.
Wicked Smart
i know it’s a bit late now, but the album name is incorrect, it’s “every hour is a dollar gone”
fuking awesome song
Goddamn. 👍
What's the box his foot is on? It's got cables attached but I dont see any activation switch or peddle. Just a stomp box he attaches to his peddleboard maybe?
Yea Black Keys on Pandora for me too...
How blues relates to crossroads demons and this music streaming app called Pandora (as in Pandora's Box..)
idk idk
Too many conspiracy vids on here lmao
Just found him because of Pandora
I have a song about shoes I wrote when I was 20 too
What is his kick drum? Is it a mic taped into a box?
And what guild is he playing?
What's in the box
Pandoras studio version is great audio.
Who the hell was using the peddle? Wasn’t him. Just think it was odd for that to be added in so much
Longmire put you on the map!..jk great song!
The guitar jam near the end was impressive but it throws off the somber nature of the song.
Listen to the original, electric version.
it has a Led Zeppelin vibe
I am literally cringing at this STUPID comment......
Sounds like a whisky or bourbon commercial
Thanks @ScottyMar10
