- This is my coal bin that I designed and built. I call it my AAGF Coal bin system. AAGF stands for Auger Assisted gravity Fed. When I push a button in the basement, the auger moves coal from the bin, dumps it into a 4" pipe and it slides down into the hopper on the back of my coal stove. The stove burns rice coal.
That is totally awesome!
Clever!
SWEEEET setup, brother! Ingenious!! 👍😎👍
Jim, looking in from England - great video and love your very neat work.

Very nice job and we very much enjoyed your video!
What a nice setup - good design.
That was terrific!
Congratulations! That’s super cool! Love the set up!
What a great idea. Can you post more on the bin construction and auger you bought?
Sweet setup! Good job.
Very cool!!! Looks great too!!
Good system dude easy and it works perfect !
Pretty nifty setup there!
That's awesome! Nice job!!
very nice setup
I like it,great job.
awesome job my friend !!!
Great job fella
Great job!!
Nice!! One MAJOR thing is you wanna keep the lid on your hopper while the stove is running otherwise you can get a hopper fire, sounds crazy but it can be major issue if you dont use your lid
Awesome job well executed I'd like to have a setup like that. I have a coal combustion year I started burning rice coal to start with trial run about 2 weeks... i ended up burning stoker coal... very good heat
Awesome job
Nice system.
Thats pretty slick
I love it sweet job dude.
Excellent set up! I'm really looking into ideas to build my own as well as I'm thinking of going over to coal next winter. I'm getting too old to find 7 to 8 cords of wood every winter and this past winter did it! Its 28 degrees outside and its April 3rd! Is it spring yet or what! Anyway, I ran out of wood a few weeks ago and have been throwing coal in my wood stove. It works fine and I check the grate every day. Works so well, upgrading next year for sure!
Nice job !
Very nice!
Very very impressed!!!!
It looks pretty good, and I can tell you are very proud of it too. would you mind posting a parts list.
Well played
Excellent!!!
After reading all the comments and noticing Jim doesn't respond to anyone's questions, let alone simply "like" check the comments, I must assume his coal furnace burned the house down, along with Jim. May he R.I.P.
Impressive.
Nice job Jim! I would like to have more information on the design and parts. It doesn't look like you are answering people's questions here. I hope you will respond to mine. Thanks
I am jealous! There is no way a truck could get anywhere on my property for a delivery though :( back to luggin' in my 50lbs bags...
very nice
Badass
Do coal stoves not have combustible clearance requirements like wood stoves have? Seems like that pipe would be against code
Nice !
badass!
How does the truck dump high up in the bin?
very smart
Jim 1 more. You burn Rice.I have a VC Vigilant,It says burn rice/Pea but I find when I load it,The coal falls through the greats..So I burn Nut or Stove.Thank you
Four 6x6 wood beams, sorry those don’t look like what you said, 4 by 6 is more correct, none the less truly good thinking here.
What if the coal is wet yet? How long does it take to dry
I worked with him years ago ,
Where did you get the auger assembly? I hate to build one from scratch.
verry smart i cant engineer much but if i could i could make some cool stuff
How often do you have to refill the hopper on the coal stove? How many pounds of coal do burn in the winter? Great system. Thanks.
Is your coal oil treated for dust containment?
Amazing job, where do you buy the auger?
Awesome. Did you build it yourself, and how much did you spend?
Also, did you custom make that Auger or did you purchase it premade from somewhere? If so, can you share the vendor please. Thanks.
excelent system. I always wanted somthing like this for my stove. My coal bin is in my basement and i want to connect a auger like this to deliver the coal up one floor to where my stove is located. where did you get the auger?
what kind of stove???
Jim Very close to what I want to do. Where can I get the auger and motor?
+GINO TRIFELLI i would like to know that also
goo idea but anyway you must load that bin with your showel
What do you do with your ashes?
dump them
....ok
Where do you live that there is still coal delivery?
What is rice coal?
I ain't young but I've never heard of using coal to heat your house in modern times.
Christopher Guy rice is a very clean burning coal a simple google search will tell you everything you need to know.
Macungie is in Pennsylvania. Near Allentown, Pa, and yes coal is everywhere around here.
You're obviously not from Pa. You can buy coal for about $100 a ton here. Depending on the size of your house that could last you a winter.
dump them
LIKE TOTALLY AWSOME, BUT EXPLAIN THE DUCT WORK TO HEATING THE HOUSE WERES THE BLOWER
