    Dave - thanks so much. I had precisely this problem with my Delta SA180 and was getting no help anywhere until I found your video. Not only did you explain everything well and show clearly how to do it, your production values (particularly good focus and lighting on close-up shots) were refreshingly high. Can't thank you enough.

    Good knowledge to have. I'm still at the "flipped over belt sander clamped to the bench" stage, but its time to start searching for gently used stuff.
    Thanks for making these. Gives knowledge and motivation.

    You've already convinced me to get a 4" angle grinder( been putting that off for too long)from your previous video. I think I will keep my eyes peeled for a used belt sander too. Whether you are making knives or doing other projects, both are great to have around when needed. I must say, you are really good at explaining how to do stuff. Thanks.

    Dave! I have a cheap harbor freight belt sander similar to the one in this video. I was going to junk it because the belt kept coming loose but you got me hyped up run to the garage almost midnight and fixed it! wasn't the same problem but thanks for the motivation, saved me a few bucks.

    Thanks for the video! I have a different Delta with the bracket in a different location, but your video pointed me in the right direction. The bracket on mine is much more difficult to remove from machine, but I was able to loosen it and bend it in place, and it's tracking much better now. Cheers.

    I was just given an SA 180 with this tracking issue ...but severe. Severe listing to port at best. The machine has been in a golf repair shop for 20 years and is still running good except this and a really really deep cleaning required. I’m gonna bet this is just what it needs. Thanks very much, I subscribed as a small thank you. I will follow up with my results. Free 1x42 combo and a free fix? Heh heh... better go buy a lottery ticket next.

      That piece is quite soft and it doesn't stick to a magnet.....so its some horrible pot metal or its aluminum.

      I'm very pleased that its helped you out! Evidently a LOT of us have had this problem.

    That is funny because the building trades teacher had done the exact same fix when I was in high school not only that had us taking apart a lot of the power tools as a way to maintain them oil moters and clean them up everyday after shop was done
    Cracked me up one day came to class and he had one of them sears fiberglass bass boats he was fixing a hole in with epoxy resin fiberglass which is how I learned how to do epoxy resin fiberglass work and learned how it was so much better than polyester resins
    From what I hear they quit all of those VICA programs and all I can say is BIG MISTAKE to take away some kids real life education like that which cannot be replaced by any other classes
    Building trades also counted as math class credits and yes there was a whole lot of math involved when building them houses we built

    • @Bushradical
      @Bushradical  5 лет назад +2

      I totally agree. I took building trades my senior year and learned a lot. Ive built 4 houses and 3 cabins and used a ton of math.

    • @RayBlackburn
      @RayBlackburn 5 лет назад +1

      I won fourth place in state speed skill in my senior year and was vice pres of the class then after i graduated no one wanted to hire me because of a reason no one would guess in a million years
      I was not an illegal alien living in Texas LOL
      So I moved on joined the Navy and went to school for electrical engineering which paid off better and had more opportunities when I got out of the Navy then later studied mechanical engineering and became an HVACR technician
      Some friends ask how I did it and I would say, i know it is hard to believe but at one time the only way to get knowledge was from a library full of books and there was no such thing as an internet LOL
      I use to find books college kids threw away at UT texas in Austin and was hard to believe at one time I had a giant library of books I had found in dumpsters on every subject available when I had a house in Austin
      I guess they call it home schooling now days but I can almost bet parents who send their kids to school and pay for those books had no ideal they threw the books away after they left school LOL

    • @Bushradical
      @Bushradical  5 лет назад +2

      No joke...thats the difference between someone who wants knowledge and someone who wants to go to college....because everyone else is doing it.

    • @RayBlackburn
      @RayBlackburn 5 лет назад +1

      Watch out for that and study HVACR systems yourself as a way not to have incompetent people work on your heating and A/C units
      I was in charge of new hires at one place so i made a test for them to fill out true/false
      On the question, Superheat is when a furnace overheats to the point it starts burning up in a superheated state True/False
      All 30 applicants answered True and some saying they had 15 years experience in the fields and college HVACR diplomas LOL
      It is worse than anyone really knows out there and people are getting ripped off left and right when they call for HVAC service with the biggest problem being none of the techs can fix a thing so they lie to the customer and tell them their system cannot be fixed and needs to be replaced no matter what is wrong
      I ran so many second opinion calls (thousands) where I found only a wire loose or a bad capacitor or simple fixes where the customer showed me the last company condemned it and told them they need a new system installed to fix it

    • @donaldhofman296
      @donaldhofman296 5 лет назад +2

      It is the same in all industries! I was a mechanic for years in a shop! I took a job at a different company and I quit within 3 months! They were so shady selling used parts instead of new, and charging for new! I helped put them out of business! The worst thing was my uncle worked for them, and he didnt say anything about it, but mabe he didn't know about it!

    Hey question- I need to replace the v belt amd obviously it’s Discontinued- is there a generic replacement? I was going to contact grizzly or someone who makes the identical unit but want to be up and running. The fix you showed here worked great FYI - wow strong spring is right. The machine was given to me and I finally got around to getting consumables for it to find its missing the v belt... 🤦‍♂️
    thanks brother.

    • @Bushradical

      I think all the models that look the same would be made in the same factory and labeled for the buyers......I think all of these machines are made in Taiwan. I would go for it

    • @baldwindigital
      @baldwindigital 3 года назад

      @@Bushradical Thanks for the fast reply... yeah it looks like the shop for and grizzly units are 1:1 identical unless I’m missing something.
      I’ve got it apart and am gonna do the string trick to get a basic guesstimate on belt length in case I can find one at like Napa or autozone locally while I’m at it.

    • @baldwindigital
      @baldwindigital 3 года назад

      @@Bushradical so a Napa 3L 190 works... could have used a 20 I suppose, didn’t want to go back. Glad there is adjustment in the mounting of both the motor and the swingarm. I was able to slip it on with a screwdriver so I suppose it’s not too tight hopefully 🙏
      10 bucks to Napa and up and running. Had to take it pretty much apart to get the v belt on but she’s back together now. Thanks!

    • @baldwindigital
      @baldwindigital 3 года назад

      @@Bushradical also note your roller came off MUCH easier than mine. I had to get it all undone then rest the roller against the swing arm and persuade it out with a socket extension and a 2# blacksmith hammer. Dude was missing the retaining bolt and the 14mm nut as well...no idea how it stayed on there.

    What the hell are all of you talking about?!?!? Are you all HIGH?!?!? Where could all this praise of this man's great tutorial be coming from?!?! I defy any one of you who claimed to have gotten such a great enlightenment of a learning experience to explain exactly HOW. There were NO closeups so such praise is completely unfounded. When the title of a videoclip begins with the two words, "HOW TO...", one naturally assumes such a clip will not just be a video of some dude tinkering in his workshop but one that at least comes close to living up to what is stated in the title. The sander I acquired are missing the switch as well as the run capacitor. One who doesn't know any better likely would assume they were about to view a "tutorial" and not a video clip that some dude seems to have made because he gets off on watching himself and hearing his own voice. Sorry bro...your intentions were righteous most certainly and you are due the credit for figuring out how to even post a video on youtube. Couple of vital closeups would have made a huge difference.
