Wow this is the only video that actually told me to manage my anxiety and emotions and mental health basically instead of just wearing my night guard! Thank you!
One of the best videos I've watched on how to stop grinding your teeth naturally. Reminds me of the wim hof method. Have you heard of him? so yea I guess breathing exercises have loads of benefits. Now I really have to discipline myself in doing this.
Thank you I just figured this out was having temple pain, headache in morning, and I would find myself clinching my jaws, my dentist also told me. I’m home sick, just lost my dog and this coronavirus is crazy, I had to be tested and waiting and this week has been stressful. Thank you so much for this I caught myself 4 times clenching my jaw today, it’s crazy.
Thx for vid. As someone who dealt with anxiety make sure you’re right with God and look into supplements. Many people are low on vit D. Now if only I can stop grinding.
I've taught myself to stop clenching during day, but over years it has worsened at night. 99.9% molars are now crowned and I've cracked several crowns too. I always wear a night guard and break through even the thicker flexible ones in a month or two. Face and neck aches causing headaches I wake up with every morning and only Imitrex makes them better. Neck muscles and traps are extremely tight. So wish I could stop clenching.
Hey there… hope you’re doing well! I was wondering if you found any way to manage this issue?? I’m in a similar boat. I don’t think I’m overly stressed and I can stop myself from clenching during the day. But at night is a different story and it’s really starting to hurt my jaw and teeth
@@zemotika It's due to years of serious anxiety, bad marriages, childhood awfulness. I'm now trying to fix the root cause. I was prescribed benzodiazepines for nearly three decades, always as directed. Upon learning they are never to be taken over 2-4 weeks, I told my doctor I wanted to stop taking them and she said, "Okay, STOP." No mention of a need to taper. So I stopped cold turkey (which i later discovered one should never do with benzos) and I nearly died in the first six months of withdrawal. Am still damaged but brain is starting to improve after 42 months off. So my advice is DONT TAKE BENZOS AT ALL. Gabapentin is somewhat helpful but only take low dose and for no more than a month or two; it's also hard on brain. Best advice is working on the actual source of your anxiety...EMDR for chronic trauma. Rx drugs are no answer at all. Doctors are untrained about side effects of most meds. Good luck to you. 🙏
It's hard not to clench my jaw even if I'm actively trying not to. For some reason I really like the physical sensation of grinding my teeth together and feeling the "softness" of my teeth, if that makes sense.
I recently started getting tingling nerve sensations around my eyebrow and temple/ear area. I was hoping it was TMJ but my coronoid process is above my condyle bone as part of my earlier bone development (which is not how most people are d]structured anatomically) and possibly from ongoing wear and tear from chewing food and grinding at night. I used a bite plane for my teeth but the specialist says it doesn’t help this issue and is too hard and thick. So my only hope right now is using vitamin d and calcium etc to hope the condyle bone hardens and doesn’t reduce any more. It is quite distressing. I hope anyone else with this issue will check out their X-rays from the dentist and see an oral pathologist if they get similar symptoms.
My mom’s jaw was locked when she was young because of this but now im doing it and i also kept on biting my gums. Blood came out and i was scared to grind my teeth and clench my jaw.

It’s not gonna stop right away. I’ve been trying to stop my bruxism recently and although I make constant conscious effort to relax my jaw, there is still lingering pain as joints and muscles are affected as well. I also noticed that I still ‘slip’ once in a while and clench my jaws tight when I am super focused or start stressing again.

Yes I’m familiar with Wim Hof. Different than the type of breathing I teach but still great stuff.

what does a clenched jaw look like? How do I know if it’s clenched versus a normal resting position
With relaxed jaw your molars probably aren’t touching at all, or just barely touching with no pressure. Just resting
I'm gonna try wearing my mouth guard during the day too, especially since I work from home 95% of the time.
I wonder if CBD could help.
