    For 1947 sounds nice to me ! And you never know what you will find, as far as already recorded music when you buy used wire recordings. Thanks for posting.

    Wire recorders did a decent job. Had a webster chicago model 80 for several years and very happy with it.

    Out of curiosity, what could be done to rescue the recording in case the wire broke? Was it fixable in any way?

    This is amazing: it seems like it shouldn't work as a format! Aside from the general speed fluctuations what is causing the occasional bursts of flutter?

    • @andystaffyman3711
      @andystaffyman3711  Месяц назад +1

      Yes it is a rubber wheel that drives it and as it is about 75 years old it's a bit perished but I doubt it was much better when it was new 😀 lol

    I'd say you can!!! Did it take much restoration work to achieve this? Also, does the wire cause wear on the recording/playback head?

    Excellent mate. What did you use to record from? This is clearly playing through a speaker to mic but I wonder what a direct audio feed sounds like? Is that possible?

    • @andystaffyman3711
      @andystaffyman3711  Месяц назад +1

      That is direct into radio socket via phone

      @@andystaffyman3711 nice 👍. I meant to hear playback, to hear the clarity of the recording.

      @@GramophonicReevolution it hasn't got a line out bud . So it's just comeing from integral speaker from its little valve amp
