    Hi Juliet, it's Chris Broom here, thank you so much for your kind words about "We're Off To See The Show"! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it! Wonderful performances all round! In answer to your queries, yes, this will be a full ensemble number in the show itself. This isn't the opening number as some people have suggested, it's the fourth song in, but is the first full ensemble number. Your musical instincts are spot on as always, the ensemble will be in 4 part harmony where you suggest! All the best, Chris

    • @stuartwhyte4959
      @stuartwhyte4959 8 дней назад +5

      He hasn’t said or implied anything about Martha. She is only 15 as you so often are at pains to point out. She has a minimum of 18 months left in formal education. She would have to continue her education whilst in the show. If you know Chloe Agnew of Celtic Woman she had to continue her education whilst touring. Apart from Lucy no other casting has been announced. Will Callan is joining another touring musical shortly until the end of June this year.

      Chris Broom, you and Lucy have done amazing, almost miraculous, things over the last several years! For those of us who will be unable to attend the “Rosie” musical in London, and even for those who will, I respectfully ask you to consider collaborating with the theater management to film and make the musical available on DVD eventually. It would be such a wonderful blessing! Thank you and our angelic Lucy for all you’ve created!

      Chris, congratulations on all your songs for "Rosie" and the new prize winner, "Don't Walk Away." I was a theater/film critic for 35 years in the US and saw the big Broadway hits and I think "Rosie," even in this age of Sondheim, would do very well here (and if Samuel French published it, it would become a staple for colleges and secondary schools). The songs are lovely - often memorable - and Lucy and Will top notch talent. So I hope you get to tour the show in England or open in the West End soon. Your mentoring of Lucy has been beneficial to both of you!

    Thank you, Juliet, for another insightful analysis of this fun first song in Rosie the Musical. On 22 October 2024, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, many of us gathered to hear Lucy’s West End debut in London. It was a magical evening. The first part of the performance was Lucy singing tunes from musicals, films, and standards along with others singing songs and Martha singing a duet that earned a standing ovation. After a short intermission, the rest of the show was from Rosie. This was the first song after the Overture.
    Lucy was brilliant that evening. Hopefully, upcoming releases will reveal how phenomenal she was. I am an amateur musician and my daughter considered being a voice major. We did not hear anything but perfect pitch all evening. No straining, difficulty hitting a note, sliding into, or anything. A flawless 2.5 hour concert. Absolutely phenomenal.

      @stuartwhyte4959 8 дней назад +2

      Trent, you’ve got the order confused as the songs were sung in chronological order with the narrative in between each. As Chris Broom says this is the fourth song in the show and the first full ensemble item.

    Oh, What Fun! God, I miss performing! I always felt my aliveness at the fullest when on stage. Lucy has lots of stage experience, and it shows. She will be great, I have no doubt. And yes, it shows with that last head nod--exclamation point! You were also right on point concerning Martha, too. Like many performers, I spent several years in later career as a teacher/director/conductor (You know, just to help make the rent. Sure.). I would love to get my hands on Martha; convince her that her elbows are not really nailed to her ribcage ; and "Get your head up, my darling, let the audience see your beautiful face and eyes!" These are typical self conscious reactions of inexperience. This is easily cured merely by being on stage night after night, when you finally realize that the audience is actually on your side.
    However, I read in another post that Martha's appearance may not be assured, and they could be correct. I spent a couple of years in my early career studying in London, and I can tell you that the British Actors Equity Union is tough. Martha is still only 15 yo. She must have parental signatures on all contracts; she, of necessity, would have to move to London and live with parental oversight, and the company would be required to furnish full time mentoring to continue her schooling. I would hate to see dear Martha miss out on a massive life-changing experience, but it could happen. What a huge disappointment that could be.
    Then again, who really knows at this point what Martha herself feels about this? See, I've already got her whole life planned out! That's my grandfather's genes coming out. I confess only to you, Juliette, how protective I have felt toward both Lucy and Martha since first meeting Lucy in "Hallelujah " months ago. I want to warn them about the snakes-in-the-grass and the sharks circling the waters. Is this unhealthy? I don't know. I just don't know how I would handle it if either of them were ever hurt in any way.
    Oh my! Oh my! How did I get here from the fun of "Off to See the Show".
    Gotta stop this.
    OK, Juliette, I just got a coffee refill, all better now. You asked about an uptempo number for Lucy. I think I found one for you. It's an older cut when she was 15. I just discovered recently. "10,000 Hours". It is in her catalog, but way down the list. Uptempo and definitely upbeat. And you can see that she is having a great time singing it. She even smiles a bit. She is so danged CUTE!! I think you would love "10,000 Hours". Also "Over the Rainbow " which makes me cry every time I hear it. (Side note:: my friends have always teased me that "Gare cries at bridge dedications") I will let you go now, Juliette. Thank you so much.
    My granddaughter lives about 3 hours away. I think I may go see her tomorrow. Bye.
    Gare.

    Thank you for that reaction. It's fabulous. The song is magnificent (thanks Chris Broom), the 4 artists are incredible, Lucy is impressive, at ease as no one, a perfect voice as always, and Martha, who let's not forget is only 15, touches me enormously and proves that she deserves her place and that she is there. I really love it! I can't wait to see this fabulous musical Rosie. Lucy's perfection has been mentioned since her first TV appearance by Will I Am, she has never left this perfection in 70 videos, 5 albums, and from the first to the last second of each of her concerts, and even as an actress, she is perfect. Every day for over 3 years, she has impressed me.

    Thank you so much for your reaction! All the “Rosie” songs were showcased during the second half of Lucy’s concert. They were done in chronological order for the musical with narration between each song. You were given an appreciation and meaning of the song and how it held relevance to the play. There were many Lucy solo’s as well as duets with Will. Each performance surpassed the previous video’s that had been released. As far as I know, Martha has no plans to be in the musical.

    I really enjoyed this performance with all of it's energy. The person I take my hat off to most though is Martha. All are wonderful, but the others make a living from performing, I can't imagine how Martha at 14 must have felt on the stage of one of London's most prestigious theatres in front of a huge audience - thrilling yes, but frankly it would have terrified me at that age.

This takes me back to the night of the concert .It was a magnificent concert .What can you say about this song ? another masterpiece by Chris Broom .And this was a great performance by all .Lucy of course excelled and Martha did a great job as you say she looked a little nervous unlike her big sister who takes it all in her stride.I don´t think Martha will be in the actual show.I have heard that Will is.I think there will be more songs released over the next few months which ones we will have to wait and see with any luck they may release them all.Thanks for your continued support for Lucy & Matha.

    For the ones new about "Rosie the musical":
    Rosie was written by Chris Broom, the owner of Cavendish records , which signed Lucy...long ago.
    Rosie is based on the true life of Rosie Boote, a poor girl , becoming a successful singer in London and meeting a powerful English Lord. Finnaly she will marry him against the will of the English nobility and the king himself. The real Rosie passed away in 1957.👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰♥️♥️♥️

    Thanks Juliet for the speedy react to this lively tune which seems to be an advertisement for ROSIE and yes a lively upbeat song compared to several recent songs by Lucy that were not up beat. And kudos to Martha who at the time was just short of her 15th birthday, (Nov 4). This is the first Martha has had anything to do publically with Rosie, nothing has been said about her participating in the show, maybe this is that announcement ??? Kudos to Martha for stepping out from Lucy's shadow and casting her own shadow and cast she did, quite a performance for someone her age, I say YEAH, GO Martha !!!! Thanks for the react.

    Both the guys have been appearing in Les Miserables, in the West End, Will as Marius and the other guy was Jean Valjean, I believe.
