I really dug the Angel Rat album and Outer Limits. a few of my friends thought they sold out or sold into commercial success and lost their way. who wants a band to put out the same record every time. Slayer is pretty consistent at that but who doesn't love Slayer. Macro-solutions to Mega-problems! Who God?! Whose Dog?!
Definitely one of my favorite bands, I really love the E-Force era, feel like it's really overlooked. Kaiju movies are dope, got into them because of Oxygen Destroyer, great band.
This is probably a hot take, but some of my favorite voivod releases are post society and the wake. Daniel Mongrain is an absolutely world class musician!
The Wake is actually my favorite Voivod album. I remember the first time ever knowing about Mongrain was about his time I Cryptopsy. Absolute monster of a musician.
@@jojoplaysmusic His playing with Martyr is otherworldly especially considering he sang and played guitar. His playing on Fractured by Capharnaum is insane. Super nice guy too when I met him after a show a few years back.
I only started getting into these guys last week and have actually been blown away by their recent albums. Every era they’ve gone through has been incredible. Whereas a lot of bands in the more extreme genres tend to get more and more tame as they age, Voivod has only gotten more refined and polished in terms of production. They’re still pushing the boundaries and still making very heavy, interesting music.
Son, if bands aren't begging you to be their guitarist, there's no fucking justice! You ROCK! Longtime Voivod fan and you fucking NAILED IT! TO THE DEATH, son! TO THE FUCKING DEATH! ^_^
I gotta say man that was an absolute treat to watch and listen to this video...really...huge Voivod fan here. there is no one that could had embodied with so much respect for Piggy other than Chewy! you did a killer job. I think im gonna watch it again. There were so many killers riffs on Negatron and Phobias. first time I ever heard of Voivod I was with a friend walking through the neighborhood to go to one of his friends house to buy and 8th. we went in dudes room and he was playing guitar along with a boom box cassette deck the song Cockroaches. I couldn't believe what I was hearing...its like this invisible binary matrix was shown to me. was hooked ever since that was 1983 maybe...I loved Jason's stint with them a lot. Jason brought a nice drive. dont know a lot of people who even know who they are so it was exciting to see this video. great damn job
@@jojoplaysmusic So many great riffs. but I gotta say the opening riff on the self titled album with Newstead is so badass "Blame us" and "We Carry On" is killer too.
Great job! There are so many riffs and albums I like from Voivod. I've been a fan since the first album. Love the old stuff through the most recent. Killing Tech: This is not an excersize, The Wake: all of it, Many more though.
Horns up brother, that was tasty! For the longest time The Outer Limits and RRROOOAAARRR were my favorites. Seems it changes every week now, but damn, the last few albums have kicked ass though.
I was big into Power Rangers as a kid, but I haven't yet dived into any other sentai or anything related. That said, I am now starting my true journey into Gundam, and I am so excited!! (I have watched the first two episodes of Love After World Domination and its a lot of fun so far)
So what are YOUR favorite Voivod riffs? Also, are you into Tokusatsu/Kaiju kind of series like Ultraman?
Dimension hätröss is masterpiece. Killing technology is also great
tribal conviction!!!
"The Outer Limits" album is an absolutely masterpiece.

@@krzysztofzakrzewski7777 hell yes it is! lol LOST MACHINE!
Canadian bands are so distinct
Fuck yes!
Piggy is eternal. An original. An anomaly. I've been a Voivod fiend since 1987.

Makes my cold metal heart proud to see a younger generation appreciate the brilliance of Voivod and the groundbreaking genius of Piggy 🤘
I love Nothingface and Dimension Hatröss. The Unknown Knows & Tribal Convictions.
🇨🇦 Québec
Voïvod , Gorguts , Martyr , Augury , Quo Vadis , Cryptopsy ,Ion dissonance , Despised Icon,Beneath the massacre , Kataklysm, Neuraxis , Beyond Creation, First Fragments

My favorite band since 1987. The best album... Nothingface but hard to say. Eric's era or new albums are really good.
Thanks for your work, greetings
Definitely one of my favorite bands, I really love the E-Force era, feel like it's really overlooked.

You are so advanced and prog. Thanks
Wow… That was amazing.
Makes me want to hear the old Voi-Vod with modern production values

Thank you so much man! Those are very kind words. Cool story too! Watch it as many times as you need.

Amigo, excelente toque de una legendaria Banda, saludos desde Colombia.
You play those riff a bit angrier than Piggy. Sounds Nice!
Dimension is my fav Voivod album
Came to see if Cosmic Conspiracy made it.... Guess not, but great job man! Awesome band...
Love this!

Now that’s very cool.
You reaffirm my hopes in humanity!
Do I really?
Check out German band Incubator for some creative Voivod-meets-Obituary-hommages (yes you read that right). Espc the first two records.
Please make skinless riff journey 🙏🙏🙏
Québec Metal is the best !
Piggy RIP
QUÉBEC NOT CANADA
Tornado
Man why only you make better the originals better? Every time I hear voivod I dont feel like them but when you cover their tracks it sounds way better
It’s just that I have that magic touch you know
Lemmy Burton! what a cool fucking name! lol I wonder what your middle name is...Blackie? perhaps? hehe Lemmy Blackie Burton!
When Chewy came on board, this young man no longer sounds better than original. Yes, Piggy was raw. Chewey is precise.
Voivod is kinda underrated
Kinda?
KICKASS!! 🤘😁
where's the tin cap
They took it from me
Deicide riffs? pls!!!
I desperately wanted to like Voivod but they’re just not for me unfortunately
Voivod is very difficult to understand. Not my music
If you don't like Voivod you need to be recycled.
I agree
So true🤘
Voivod Album Infini needs to have Treasure Chase covered, bass and guitar
Great job dude, definitely nailed all these crazy ass riffs
Awesome vid man 🤘 how about top ten riffs from the new wave of death metal undeath sanguisugabogg 200 stab wounds and frozen soul to name a few
Don't forget Blood Incantation, Tomb Mold, Artificial Brain, Vitriol, Corpsessed and Teeth 😃
and Skeletal Remains and Gatecreeper
Adding Undeath, Creeping Death, and Outer Heaven to this.
Edit: adding Necrot too.
Pissgrave, maybe?
Could be, could be…
This is not Voivod sound
