Our conversation explores the topic of the heritability of IQ and personality, as well as the relationship between intelligence and fertility. It also touches on the differences between men and women in terms of intelligence and achievement.
We also discuss various topics related to gender norms, masculinity, Jewish overrepresentation, and the relationship between cognitive ability and political views. We also touch on the influence of democracy and values on political beliefs.
Sebastian Jensen is an anonymous researcher and Substack author who blogs at www.sebjenseb.net/

The main reason we can make inferences abt IQ in populations over history, is that it's correlated with things we've measured for a long time, like reflexes for example.

"decline in intelligence in Europe is estimated to be 2 points per century" - but actually measured to be 10 points per century! You can't just look at TFR's, mothers' ages when they give birth is a stronger effect.

Jensen's good, but possibly too skeptical of lots of measures. Also, it matters a lot if you have a small, smart population only, vs also a large high-average population, it's the difference btw having a society, and having a few small adaptive tribes.

Of course education and enculturation matter for lots of things, which is why Katharine Birbalsingh is a hero, but it doesn't change the fact that heritability is essentially the 'main variable' for most important stuff. I don't wanna suppress or marginalize anyone, I want 'lower classes' to be ACTUALLY 'empowered,' by understanding that if they want a better life for their kids, pretty much the main thing they should be doing at this point is investing in embryo selection. This will be great for them, and will also rescue/preserve society, arguably more than anything else.

Yes, because struggling people have money to invest in experimental medical procedures. The best thing they can do is live clean and right with God. Technology is a poor substitute.

@@MushroomMagpie It's not as expensive as ppl think, it's not as experimental as ppl think, and you don't want to see what happens to society if the majority of ppl's IQ just keeps plummeting, generation after generation.

      How is it experimental?
      The principle is well understood

@@MushroomMagpie No one ever said technology was a substitute. Jobs, cars, and phones are not substitutes either, but that is no reason not to invest in them. You have made a very poor argument.
