I own a 2023 R1250RT. What a dream bike. It's not a bagger, but a great sport tourer. Electric windshield, electronics, and adaptive cruise control. A game changer!
I think your description of your perfect bike described the Indian Roadmaster, 116 c.i. pushrod v-twin, all the technology the Challenger has, electric windshield. Sadly, the stock heated and cooled seat requires stops every 150 miles or so to give your butt a break. I have been riding for 49 years and this roadmaster is by far the nicest bike I have ever ridden.
I absolutely love my Challenger! I do have some notes for things they could change on it but it's definitely my favorite bike I've ever bought, and it's the bike I had to change the least on to make it exactly what I wanted. It's got the power, the stereo, the tech, and the suspension/handling. To me it's the most bang for buck, even though it costs a lot of bucks! Also the water cooling is a massive bonus.
Thank God we as riders have all these wonderful bikes to choose from these days , all these are quality bikes and it’s really just down to personal preference as to which one fits us best ! I ride a 2017 Goldwing and it has been wonderful and is the best fit for me , I have ridden many others and this one is mine 👍😎Thanks for what you do !
Long ago, When I bought my heritage I thought cruise control was laughable. Then I bought my Road king and I too cannot live without it now. It is very nice.
I ride ADV bikes, currently a Honda Africa Twin equipped with DCT like the Goldwing you rode. All I can say is if you spend some time on a DCT equipped Honda you soon won't want to go back to manual shift. Especially in heavy traffic and twisty back roads, the work done by the bike and relieving it form the rider is an OMG wonderful feature on a bike. In my honest opinion the DCT is as much of a god send for a bike rider as cruise control for touring and just crushing miles.
I really enjoyed this one Jess. It felt extremely authentic and sincere and yet it was engaging and interesting. Loved hearing about your experiences on each bike. More of these please. 😉👍🏾 FWIW, so far, I like the Street Glide the most of the big baggers I have tried. I have learned I don’t really love riding really top heavy bikes a lot. So, anything that makes a big bagger feel less top heavy really appeals to me. The Street Glide, Road King, and Challenger are the ones I have enjoyed the most as a result.
Cool video! You should ride the Victory Vision. It was a great mix of modern and traditional ... it was ahead of its time. An American V-Twin version of the Goldwing. Included a reverse gear, and an adjustable windshield. I am a little biased, but I think it's still one of the best value touring motorcycles out there.
Another Vision rider here. It's impressive for its weight. Track days, cone-courses or all day 2-up touring. I even daily commute on mine. 90k miles and counting 😊
I also own a Victory Vision and agree with you. In all major points including comfort, handling, and cost of ownership, it has been an outstanding motorcycle. I use mine for everything.
That cast aluminum frame on the Challenger is a game changer. The Roadmaster and Chieftain have aluminum frames also. The Roadmaster has the same technology as the Challenger, only difference is the fork mounted fairing and the air cooled 116. And like your BMW, my Roadmaster gets slot of attention. I did put reduced reach bars and seat on it so I sit more in the bike than on top of it. The bars alone were a game changer. The reduced reach put the bars two inches closer to you. That's a big help when you're trying to park it and you have to go lock to lock to do so.
Real deal down to earth garage talk. Truly enjoyed the sincerity of the content. Peace to you this day, and as always be safe out there, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Great video Jess. I agree with you across all your points on the HD Road Glide and the Challenger. I own each but my heart is forever tied to the RG. There is something which is almost spiritual about the way the RG makes us feel when we go with a ride. My wife likes both for different reasons as well, she's my companion on my rides.
I'm not big on Harley's but the dealer network is probably the main reason I would buy one of their touring bikes. There will always be a shop/dealer that can work on your Harley if you break down. To me that is the biggest selling point for buying HD with the intent to take it on a road trip. Also, take a look at the Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager. It provides the Japanese reliability for less money than a Gold Wing.
When people say that they miss the point about the dealer network. If you want reliability, buy a Honda or Yamaha. I ride two Yamahas a Royal Star Venture and tour deluxe. I chose them for that reason, when I'm on the road, I don't need a "large dealership network" that's the point with Hondas and Yamahas. The bikes do as they are supposed to. My tour deluxe has 100k miles on it currently and has never had an issue on the road. The bike, like any other has as check engine light, and I couldn't tell you what it looks like, it's never come on. I would feel confident taking that bike from the DC area to the west coast on a trip after a routine service and it would make it. I have ridden with friends who have had HDs and six months into owning a new bike or less have had their check engine light come on or other problems. One person had a Road glide CVO less than a year old that threw out 6 engine codes at once. We were at Ocean City bike week when it did, and she had to take it to the dealer in OC. It didn't get fixed for two days as they were swamped with such a big event going on. She ended up riding 2 up with me on my Yamaha to various places at times. Now I'm not knocking people's bike choices, this is my personal experience and I've had countless miles on HD bikes professionally as a motor officer for some years, so I've seen some of the problems.
Thanks for the vid. I liked your points. If you enjoyed the engine in the Gold wing, try a bmw k1600. Maybe a bagger or the grand america. I have a k1600gt and i absolutly love all the compromises the bmw made to combine performance and comfort.
Just turned 70, and riden about every bike available untill probably 2010 and nothing has compared to my current ultra glide classic but still have an 1988 true custom 1200 sportster for around town. I'm content with what i have.
Since I owned a 2018 Road Glide Special, white as well, my heart will always love that bike. Yet I did sell her and recently purchased a 2023 BMW R 1250 GS. Yep, I know what you’re thinking….😮. I’ve set the GS up as my touring bike. I could not possibly be any happier. “Matilda” has 3000 miles in less than 2 months. I will never sell Matilda, ever. 😎
Great video. must agree with others, my favorite “Her two wheel’s” video so far. I’d ride what you feel the most comfortable with. My wife rides a2008 Sportster Custom and a 2022 Street Glide. She loves them both. I bought my first GoldWing in 1977 and as we say in my field “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and GWs still work for me.
I've ridden metrics my entire life until very recently when I got, like you, a lightly used 2018 RGS (mine is vivid black). Agree with everything you said. It's hard for me to understand why Harley - even on their new CVO's - can't seem to understand the obvious value of an electronically adjustable windscreen and reverse gear on an 800 pound plus touring motorcycle. I also don't understand the haters online. Their argument is that they want their Harley's simple. The TFT display and tech on the new bikes are far more complex than an adjustable windscreen and reverse gear. I mean - if someone doesn't like those things, then they don't have to use them right? I would be happy even if they were offered as options.
Well if a lot of that is stuff you won't use, why pay the added expense of having it? It is what is pissing me off about the modern pickup, I just want a truck, no giant computer screen, no leather seats and all the other crap that makes them charge 80 grand for a freaking pickup. I like old school simplicity and no company even offers that anymore, and the prices are so high a lot of us can't buy them anymore. It is for that reason my old disabled self uses my 04 RK as my daily, I simply don't have a choice. I can't even afford an engine to put in my old truck.
@@Wildturkey10121 So they should have a base model and a premium model. But the absence of even having the option on a $50K so-called premium touring motorcycle is unthinkable.
The K1600 bikes have everything you prioritized: cruise, standard and forward pegs, adjustable windshield, tech, power, fairing, reverse, lighting, etc.
This is my favorite video of yours in a while. I love hearing your pragmatic thoughts on how you pick and evaluate motorcycles and accessories. It shows your knowledge, and your values. You know lots of stuff, and have values that make sense to me! Kudos on noticing what gives you the comfort for long days (handlebars), and prioritizing that over aesthetics. In some crowds, that takes courage. But it really pays if you like going far. You noticed the advantage of old-school tubular handlebars! Yes, you can bolt anything to them, and move those things between bikes! If you want things the way you want them, that is completely transformative. Your mention of the superior Harley dealer network kind of surprised me. Why? Because I always fix my own bike. I haven't had a shop fix my bike in about 15 years. Even tires. But I know most people are more in your position, and if I were you, that huge HD dealer network would be in my top couple factors when I choose a long-distance mount.
Does the motorcycle you ride put a smile on your face every time you throw a leg a leg over it? Mine does (1987 FLST-Special). I hope yours does too. That's all that matters. Brand doesn't mean anything.
That was a great review. The Beemer is my favorite. I love that is shakes sideways when it cranks. And it is a rolling work of art. Alive, beautiful and special. Yea, the Beemer. Then you have to go around a turn. I still love that BMW committed to that old school style and did it so well.
I love your videos Jess! I found you by chance one day without the algorithm. You have been embarking on the dream of riding for “work” that I had 12 years ago. You are truly blessed! I have a 2014 HD Street Glide with many upgrades including the engine. It’s the most comfortable for the long touring models. Now with the S&S 124 I have more power and I won’t ride anything else! I hope one day we might meet up somewhere to share stories of the open road. Truly you are the only other female rider that also waves at cows. 😊 Cheers and keep the shiny side up! 🏍️💨
A bike no longer in production but feels great to tour with is the Yamaha Stratoliner . The Stratoliner is the same size as the BMW with a little bit bigger @ 1854 cc/113 cu-in. 98.6 hp. The BMW has a great look, like the Stratoliner, designed from a yester- year design style. Retro fits. You would need to find someone in your area that has one but if you ever do, you’ll get why these bikes have held a steady resell value over the years. The best $5000 you’ll ever spend.
Jess, I’m going to throw a challenge your way. I’ve been riding over fifty years, and loved every wheel turn on dirt bikes to Harley bagger touring bikes. I finally left that world (for health reasons) to jump onto a BRP Can Am Spyder RTL. I Challenge you to expand your experiences and give the Spyder 600 miles of your riding time.
For people really into bikes, there is a bit of a learning curve riding a Spyder. If you learn how to ride it, they are pretty fun, but most people have a bad time since they have no idea how and try to ride it like a bike.
It is an acquired taste for a spider. To much work for touring. Interesting challenge I am curious how she will like it. For me it was fun for a little bit, but I like sport quads and could relate to it. Then I got board and gave it back to my wife. She Rides a R1250GS now.
eddcurry, I bought a new 2022 Spyder in October 2022 and put on 11,000 miles on it this past year. I like it better than I thought it would. I still have 3 other 2-wheelers and for me, 2 wheels are more fun than 3.
@@AyaWettsagree with this assessment! I rode an F3 limited on my channel when my dad was considering a Spyder. The salesperson was injured and couldn’t provide a long demo. So off I go. Nothing at all against the Can Am. It was much different than I expected. If interested in the wacky ride…😬🫣Test Ride: Can-Am Spyder F3 #Scared of Spyders #can am Motovlog @AnywhereRider ruclips.net/video/TJPELbUgruA/видео.html
You can paddle shift anytime on a Goldwing and use your engine. slowing down or speeding up. you can shift gears manually it is just smoother because it is a automatic
Jess, I'm with ya about the Gold Wing rider position: I'm 6'5" with a 40" inseam so I have no place to put my lanky legs. I owned an earlier GW and didn't care for the comfort of the rider ergonomics. For road comfort, I prefer the sprawled-out position I have on my Road Glide. Yes, it has some down sides, but it does exactly what I want it to do for my riding style.
Good evening Jess. In full agreement with you on the Goldwing as I had a '08 Goldwing trike and because I couldn't get my feet forward and I got stiff riding it. Just wasn't comfortable. I rode it for 10 years. Traded for a 2023 Triglide and love it. Got them feet forward and very very comfortable for this76b year old. Love this Triglide!!!!! Enjoy your channel.
Motorcycles are like people. None are perfect but some are clearly, clearly better than others. Your POV is well presented and balanced. I'd love to see you ride and hear comments about riding a trike. I know, that sounds bad.. but at age 72, I can say I once said "never will happen" and now I'm thinking.. just thinking. I'd like to know more.
Back in the Spring, I rode a friends Sportster out to Santa Fe, NM from Chattanooga, TN.. first day into the trip I noticed that the bike was right at 1000 miles. I texted her and asked if she had gotten the first service done yet and she said no. Tuscaloosa HD was able to get that shit done first thing that next morning, and had me out the door within 3 or 4 hours. So that was nice of them. I have heard of Honda and BMW shops that will kind of drop everything to help out someone that is currently on a trip though.. so I don't think it's a brand specific thing.
My '05 Ultra Classic (Glacial White!) was my favorite touring. Around town my '03 883 Sporster was my go-to bike. At 5'7" the Gold Wing of the time was way too tall for me. Note the word "was", not on 2-wheels for a while but as an 81 Y.O. I might get back on a midweight again.
Know you’re incredibly busy. For your information desires for your Road Glide, I highly recommend another RUclips channel Volunteer Audio Soundstream head unit. I believe you would enjoy the technology updates that would provide for you Road Glide. Other than that recommendation, keep on doing what you’re doing and I hope that the big industry realizes those are some great ideas! I hope recommending an other RUclips channel to watch isn’t overstepping boundaries. That gentleman can explain the tech much better than I could ever dream of. Enjoy the life on two wheels and keep up the fantastic work!!
I suspect that many people on the market for a touring bike are considering the particular bikes that you discuss. It's really helpful to get your perspective; I appreciate the objective assessment.
Every bike has its own soul . My 2005 Electra glide so far has been the best bike I’ve owned . My only fear is parts availability and on a trip that could be an issue
I also ride a 2019 RGS and would love to see Harley bring out a new version with a real reverse, DCT, adaptive cruise control, adjustable windshield and a better stereo out the box. I don't understand Harley not keeping up with the competition, the things I have listed I believe would make the perfect touring bike. I have tried out a new GW and Challenger and on BOTH of them I felt the riding position was wrong for me, I felt I was perched ON them rather than in it like I do on my Roadglide. Oh Jess regarding colour, I did purchase a 2018 RGS with the older Boom system and 107 motor, but I brought the colour first...Candy Hot Rod Red Flake...lol anyway I had issues with that bike and 10 months later traded it for a 2019 RGS with the 114 motor and new Boom GTS (big improvement) however my favourite colour was not offered :(. so what did I do, got the dealer tossup my tines from my old 2018 model to my new 2019 one :). I now have a unique 2019 RGS with a genuine HD colour that is not offered for that year.... so if you find a later model RGS that you like just get it and swop the tins over, problem solved ;)
Ive been riding 40+ years, my 1975 850 t3 moto guzzi is my favorite ever,I rebuilt it myself, I also have ridden a 1800 gw, and own a 2003 vtx 1800, but my favorite , but my. Most fun bike was my 450 twin that I built in 1977 chopper 18 over honda, I put over 300k on her, hard tail
Dealership networks are key... Back in 2012 I was doing a big road trip Tampa-Nashville-Chicago-Route 66-Santa Monica on my 2007 Road King 2up. I took the Santa Fe route and came out to my bike after parking up at the hotel and found a BIG pool of oil under my bike!!! This was a Saturday night, the local dealer was closed Sunday and Monday and I was on a tight schedule as I had to get to LA on time to catch my flight back to the UK. Anyway I contacted the dealer in Albuquerque and told them my predicament who said come down first thing Monday morning and we will fit you in. Got there at 8am and they changed a inner primary seal and I was on my way by 11am, that is what I call service.
This video is helping me decide on purchasing my next bike. This video was great! I love the challenger but they are all so good. I had to watch the video twice because your eyes were mesmerizing in it.😂 Don't worry, my wife approved that comment because she agreed.
I have 4 differant MC 's and they all ride different , I love my Indian Chieftain , but I will be getting my last bike and it will be the WING , Now that Im in my 70'S , and if it gets to heavy for me , I can just get the kit built onto it .
Education on the reverse gear of the new Goldwing: It starts off mellow and piles on torque, when you stay on the button. Most reviewers don't get that and tell us after 2 seconds of trying that reverse is too weak. Keep the button pressed though and the revs will raise automatically to provide more power to the starter generator to reverse with more vigor. It a safeguard not to throw the rider off, which could be easily the case if it always started out with maximum torque.
Another great job with a video. Sometimes I wish I could ride many other bikes. Other times I am just happy focusing on my own remuda. (the herd of horses from which those to be used for the day are chosen)
It doesn't make a bit of difference what you ride. If you set it up for your use, it's comfortable, and functional for your purpose, go ride. I'm old. Back in the day, we only had UJM and soft bags thrown over the seat, and voila...touring machine. I rode cross country on a Suzuki Katana, basically a slightly detuned GSX-R with a more upright position. Magnetic tank bag, duffle bag (3 bungees looped through a common key ring to make a spider net held it on). Aftermarket auto cruise control was modded and installed on the bike, and you are correct: cruise control changed my life. I've owned a BMW R-1100RT, Honda ST1300 as well. Both fine machines that can eat pavement all day long without beating you up. Good friend has a Kawasaki Concours...over 100,000 miles on that thing. There are so many choices today, and so much flexibility with mods. I'm currently on a Can-Am Spyder RT-L, and can go anywhere except off road. Cruise, power assist steer, vehicle stability, anti-lock braking. We live in good times now. Love the content, keep it coming, stay safe!
Hi , try rivco cruiser peas for the gold wing and for engine braking put it in manual mode , when you get used to the DCT and how to use all The options you won't want a manual every again , it's a matter of using it as it is supposed to be used .
You need to ride the previous honda goldwing 1800. Go feels lite to you because of low center of gravity. It 750 lbs Maybe your friend chaleasy ? She just got gl1800 bagger. Nice bike
My current stable is a pearl white Goldwing DCT Tour (gorgeous to look at), a beige metallic BMW K 1600 GTL (stupid fast) and a vivid black Road King (potato-potato-potato). Each one has LD touring mods, some to fit my 6’5” self, and each are so different and great in their own way. Which one I take a trip on depends on how I want to travel. But If i had to pick one for a cross country trip, it’s my Goldwing.
My favorite touring bike is the heritage. I use Google maps and if I listen to music it is in my helmet. It is nice and lightweight. I can see what is in front of me better than a full fearing bike. Second favorite would be the road king
Seems like you pretty much described you ultimate mc as a goldwing with the vibration of a v-twin and highway pegs, plus the HD network when traveling. HD created that network and prioritizes people on trips for a reason. They had to. You're right you can't really pull together those things you like. Youll probably prefer a future HD with a seat that fits you. Your videos are best when you're being you and expressing your feelings. Like this one 😊
While I get what you're saying, you might be the first person to say a Goldwing wasn't comfortable for touring. Twenty-two years and I haven't felt that. But I'm a firm believer that the bike that works for you is the right bike. Keep up all the great content.
Yeah, I’m a hands down Goldwing guy. Would NEVER, ride anything else. They are called GL for a reason Grand Luxury and that’s exactly what they are. Ride what you want.. and be safe always.⭐️🇺🇸Hoosier Wing
@@HerTwoWheels in your defense Jess, the new wings are a disappointment in my opinion. You are right about the seat. It sucks. Everyone who buys this bike changes the seat. I ride a 2008 Goldwing, and in my opinion anything after 2017, is a sport touring wing, and not a real gl1800. I’m sure this may piss off the new wing riders, but why pay 30k for a new bike and spend another 2k to be able to comfortably sit on it and ride it.that’s my opinion and like I say ride what you want and be safe.
I tried one and really did not like the riding position at all, felt I was perched on it, however I liked the DCT and maybe one day try one again... but maybe not as don't like clamshell bags or fixed bars that you cannot change (I know you can add something to change there position but thats it)
@@robertcraft-pj2jp to each his own,...I owned 2-gen Wing and 3-gen 5 before I bought a 2019 DCT. I would not even considering going back to the previous models after riding the 2019,...and did not change seats
Fun new editing style. Not sure if it's worth your time, but it was a fun change I wasn't expecting for those first few minutes. Probably a good call to pull in some new folks.
Definitely Harley Davidson, also harley no doubt has the richest history. It may be the most common at rallies but for good reason. Thanks for the videos.
I went from a road glide to a street glide, I find myself not as eager to ride and enjoyed the road glide more, I like both, but the wind beats you up on the street glide
If you haven't yet, try out the BMW K1600 GTL which would be a direct competitor to the Gold Wing, albeit a slightly smaller displacement. Another one you might like is the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental.😊
My first time catching you, Jess! Nice job! As somebody who’s been riding for over 50 years on Honda, Kawasaki, many many Harleys. I can also attest to the best thing and things do happen out on the highway, are the dealerships that can help you. I had a bearing race go out in my transmission on my old Evo bagger. 7000 mile trip I was on. I literally had a month off. I limp my bike down the Costa California out of Vancouver into Ukiah California, we came in within 10 minutes. My bike was on The mount they found the bad bearing and went to a bearing company which cost me exactly $13 for the bearing I could not. And they had my bike fixed within two hours for under 500 bucks. Actually went to a barbecue and hung out with some of the guys that worked there over the weekend, that doesn’t come with many other brands?. I will be looking for more of your content. I do want to ride one of those Indians though.
Try the Yamaha Royal Star 1700cc, V4 last I checked, NOTHING is smoother than a Yamaha, parts are cheaper than Honda, Suzuki, or Kawasaki. Honda VTX 1800. Poised, shaft drive, and they don't make them anymore. Kawasaki Concourse. Shaft drive, loads of technology, very comfortable, fast enough for anyone, docile and well behaved at lower speeds. Also a Vulcan Duster might have shaft drive but I do believe one of the larger Vulcans had this feature.
I own a victory cross-country and it still has more storage space than you're hardly your BMW and whatever else you own. I have a tour pack that I put on the back and it'll be my forever bike. I know that you wrote them at 1 time. Why didn't you give it a chance just because they shut it down? Doesn't mean it's gonna disappear. It is the best bike I have ever owned out of everything that I have owned
When riding the mountains/twistes I always use Sport mode on my '19 DCT Tour Goldwing for the "engine braking" capabilities of it. The Goldwings seats since back to my previous '97 and '10 GWs, the saddles have all been replaced by me... stock seats are terrible.
If you ever get the chance to ride a bmw r1250rt DO. I know that you like big heavy bikes but If you ever have the hankering to get alot more sporty of a ride ( I crave to ride crooked rds.) You will simply be amazed at the all around versatility of this bike. I have a 2013 and the more I ride it the more I love it. 184,000 kms. of pure joy. I ride with a 2019 Heritage Classic alot and simply put it seems to be a boring ride. Loose him the twisted all the time. I AM 73 and still ride like I'm 20.
Jess ok my '04 RK has cruise on it and I'm not so happy with it honestly, but my bike is still mechanical, not electric. I was lucky and got the '04 with factory fuel injection which I'm very happy with. I just wish I had a little more power and a larger engine, or at least a 6 speed transmission, but it does most of what I need it to. It is a RK Classic and it looks like one, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I've redone the bars and controls and suspension, the rest of the costs have been repairs getting it into shape to take anywhere anytime.
I agree with the cruise control. I tell people it’s something you don’t know you really want until you’ve tried it. Then you wonder why it took you so long!
If ya get a chance try the bmw r 1250rt with the tour package...the ride is very good,it has an adjustable windshield, plenty of storage along with the quick shifter and its fun on all roads
I’ve been on two wheels since dirt bikes in 72’ and now over 50 years of riding I still have never ridden a touring bike. Maybe will test ride a couple of bagger types in 2024. I like the Low Rider St and the Indian Chieftain. I think the Indian would better suit me but the proof will be in the ride.
I loved the challenger when I test rode it. However I bought the road glide because of what you said. Dealer network. Indian dealers in this area are serious lacking in customer service. I could not get a salesperson to talk to me at the local dealer- and we asked and waited for one to be found.
I'm one of those too that have owned Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Harley Davidson. All different shapes and sizes. I recently rode an Indian Persuit and I'll say (just my opinion) it is the best balanced two wheeler I've ever been on. Electonics were functional and direct. Seat was super comfy. Two up was effortless. Power definitely there. I'm talking stock! Even with the business model adjustment Polaris is considering, I know what my next bike is gonna be.
I love Apehanger Handlebars... Jess, I think your Apehanger Handlebars look great on your Road Glide. Btw, I am installing KST KUSTOMS 16" Apehanger Handlebars on my Heritage Classic 114
Well done Jess...there is no perfect bike. I limit myself to two...a 2016 BMW R1200RT and a 2017 HD Road Glide are my current rides. Both are great for long trips, both have cruise control, and both have ABS brakes...all things I wouldn't be without. They are chosen by the intend of the trip...am I heading towards the mountain twisties or am I looking for a long comfortable cruise.
Currently on a 2022 BMW R18B. Coming from Moto Guzzi's ( shaft drive 😊) which stopped selling the California's , and other cool looking touring bikes 😢. Tried the Road Glide, Street Glide, and Road King Special, but the BMW R18 B won me over. I still have my old Guzzi, but the BMW bagger ( we're twins, except I have the Galaxy Dust color) is the most amazing bike and is my daily driver. Think my next bikes are going to be a Triumph Rocket 3, and another Guzzi ( Stelvio maybe). Like you I can't have just one. I don't even own a cager anymore. Love seeing another woman who loves to ride!
I would be curious what you think of the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental or the Eluder. One thing that doesn’t get discussed at all in touring videos is the fuel range. Do you remember and can you discuss tank to tank range between bikes? Some people stop 8x/day and that’s fine for them, but when it’s time to pound miles there’s nothing worse than hunting gas stations before 200mi.
The bmw needs a v&h exhaust. I got to do a demo on a bunch of the r18's and the v&h had a quiet mode and an open mode that made the bike sound so much better.
Hi Jess, just like you've said ride your own ride and that includes what kind of bike you ride. Foe me I have a Harley VRod and a Victory Vision. One for fun the other for cruising. And both are not produced any more. Lol
Which one is your favorite?! (Doesn't have to be the EXACT same model!)
P.S. here is the video I referenced: ruclips.net/video/ujugUWktxok/видео.html
Try a Boss Hoss touring
Gl1800 is a must for anyone putting serious miles on.
Okay. Now we need your opinion on the upcoming live action “Last Airbender” series? LOL
I love the road glide. I love your Appa build .
If you would like to give a 2009 Honda goldwing 1800 a review, you can come ride mine,
I own a 2023 R1250RT.
@@bikerinbeta What surprised you the most about the bike?
@@bikerinbeta Thank you for the reply
I absolutely love my Challenger! I do have some notes for things they could change on it but it's definitely my favorite bike I've ever bought, and it's the bike I had to change the least on to make it exactly what I wanted. It's got the power, the stereo, the tech, and the suspension/handling. To me it's the most bang for buck, even though it costs a lot of bucks! Also the water cooling is a massive bonus.
All the bucks! 😂
Yes, "all the bucks" lol, but they are all pretty expensive.🤑@@HerTwoWheels
The only bike that could get me out of my Victory Cross Country is that Challenger. It has all you say and a Victory DNA motor.
Very pleased with my 2022 challenger.
I totally agree!
Long ago, When I bought my heritage I thought cruise control was laughable. Then I bought my Road king and I too cannot live without it now. It is very nice.
If it is Comfortable for you? Ignore the negative Nellie's! I enjoy watching your videos .
Thanks for not letting the trolls get you down. Many can’t take it and quit, ruining for the rest of us who do appreciate your work! Keep it up!
FWIW, so far, I like the Street Glide the most of the big baggers I have tried.
I'd much rather ride a BMW that push a Harley. That's why they have so many dealers.😁
Thanks Jess! This was extremely informative and interesting. I loved the part where you took the best of each bike to make a dream bike for yourself.
Thanks for the vid. I liked your points. If you enjoyed the engine in the Gold wing, try a bmw k1600. Maybe a bagger or the grand america. I have a k1600gt and i absolutly love all the compromises the bmw made to combine performance and comfort.
Yes, though i prefer my GW, the beemer has a awesome motor! FASTEDDIE
Just turned 70, and riden about every bike available untill probably 2010 and nothing has compared to my current ultra glide classic but still have an 1988 true custom 1200 sportster for around town. I'm content with what i have.
Yes my friend Jess, I still want you to try a BMW RT, the 1250. I’d love to hear your opinion. Thanks for the video!
Additionally, another amazing touring bike is the GS. It’s no coincidence how many there are in the IBR.
I love the sideways pull also! Until I forget about it and try to rev under an overpass and almost do a cartwheel 😂😂😂
Ditto the Beemer.
I am interested in a retro stratoliner. I hear parts are hardly available anymore but if they are reliable who needs parts if the bike fits right?
Maybe I don't get it. I prefer road glide for my intended use. BMW reliability and lack of dealerships intimidate me. Same with Indian.
@@AyaWettsagree with this assessment! I rode an F3 limited on my channel when my dad was considering a Spyder. The salesperson was injured and couldn’t provide a long demo. So off I go. Nothing at all against the Can Am. It was much different than I expected. If interested in the wacky ride…😬🫣Test Ride: Can-Am Spyder F3 #Scared of Spyders #can am Motovlog @AnywhereRider

I have a 2022 Indian Pursuit DH, only changes I would make is the shaft drive and add reverse.
I agree with you. The beauty of the BMW was my favorite feature too.
Should try to find a yamaha star venture transcontinental or a star eluder. Pretty fantastic bikes
Did you check out the BMW k1600 line I have a k1600gt and it’s fantastic perfectly for touring
The 1600 Bagger version would have done well in Jess’s comparison.😊
I would love to get your impressions of the Kawasaki Concours, Kawasaki
Voyager, and Yamaha FJR.
That's the beauty of motorcycles, different styles of bikes for different purposes where they exceed in.
No such a thing as a perfect motorcycle, that is why I have so many and that is a part of the fun.
Than you for explaining that. (Saved me the time)😅 Mine works awesome! FASTEDDIE
I would love to see you try one of the BMW K1600B models and compare it to the other model bikes you own and have ridden.
Noted!!
I honestly think the ape bars look awesome on that bike
Aww thanks man! That makes me feel good! 😊
Another great job with a video. Sometimes I wish I could ride many other bikes. Other times I am just happy focusing on my own remuda. (the herd of horses from which those to be used for the day are chosen)
Jess, you are awesome. I might have to go buy a motorcycle if I keep watching your fabulous shows.
Ya the BMW of course Great video thank you.
Hi , try rivco cruiser peas for the gold wing and for engine braking put it in manual mode , when you get used to the DCT and how to use all
The options you won't want a manual every again , it's a matter of using it as it is supposed to be used .
You need to ride the previous honda goldwing 1800. Go feels lite to you because of low center of gravity. It 750 lbs Maybe your friend chaleasy ? She just got gl1800 bagger. Nice bike
I’m old and short. I love my BMW R1200RT. It has it all.
The heritage is a fantastic bike! 🙌
Congrats on getting lots of views! Hope you get more subscribers. Great videos!
I state my reasons for feeling that way. As mentioned, the bike was not set up for me. It was bone stock.
You need to try a 23 BMW K1600 GTL or B.
Hey Jess the Indian challenger is a 108ci 😁 just helping out
Try the Yamaha Royal Star 1700cc, V4 last I checked, NOTHING is smoother than a Yamaha, parts are cheaper than Honda, Suzuki, or Kawasaki.
Great vid! Thanks! Hope your holidays are grand, other than the w/shield Personally will stick with HD!
You just proved everyone needs at least 3 bikes! A mechanic doesn't have just one tool in his box! 🤣
The more, the merrier!!
You should look into possibly installing the baker dd6r transmission. It gives you six gears and a much easier to use reverse gear. Just a thought.
good stuff Jess !
Thanks so much!!
I’d love to see you ride the BMW 1600 Gand American. The bike is looking awesome to me.
There is no business model change at Indian! You fell for click bate my friend! Indian put out a statement saying so.
@@joedunne9492 cool, good to hear and thanks for the update
I love Apehanger Handlebars... Jess, I think your Apehanger Handlebars look great on your Road Glide. Btw, I am installing KST KUSTOMS 16" Apehanger Handlebars on my Heritage Classic 114
Actually BMW invented the variable adjustment for the wind shield on the 1100Rt
Test ride a BMW R1250RT….
Best sport touring motorcycle on the road. Plus it has the electric adjustable windscreen that you like. 😁
Madstad sells adjustable windshields for Harley! Don’t look the best but they work
I would be curious what you think of the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental or the Eluder.
Lol
Next time you are in Florida ask Chelsea if you can her Gold Wing 1800. Shadetree and her sure like it.
If you get a chance, try out the BMW K1600B. Totally different than the R18. I had 3 HD Ultra Classics. This K1600B is a game changer.
Check out that new moto guzzi, the v100. You might be surprised how well you get on with it
Congrats on the new bike guys like the bike there getting very popular up here in ontario 🇨🇦
