The beautiful young woman sitting on the couch is Maan (Dutch for "Moon"). She's a past winner of The Voice Holland. Although she's a very good pop singer, she sang an opera aria to Tania when it was Tania's turn to be the "guest". That her father is a big Dutch TV producer has nothing to do with that? I must say some songs by her are very well done but there are plenty others not so well....
@@1thomson don't get me wrong. I'm not talking about her skills(she's gifted in many ways) but about her music!
The original version was in English and Spanish. Freddie (RIP) had a unique voice of his own, Monserrat Cabalié (RIP) was a Soprano. Tommie's voice is slightly deeper than Freddie's, Tania Kross is a Mezzo-soprano. That's why it was different. You can't compare apples to pears. They both taste different but are tasty in their own way. This is not meant to be contemptuous. Both performances were great. Looks like you enjoyed it too.

Sometimes you say it best when you say nothing at all... sublime reaction :-) That darkhaired beauty on the sofa is Maan (yes moon but in dutch) her song to listen to is "Voor mij ben jij de liefde" loosly translated "To me, you are LOVE".

After all the young talent maybe time for a history lesson. Brian May of QUEEN and B.B. King admired a Dutch guitarist named Tim Akkerman. Perhaps you can comment on a unique performance by the band FOCUS in 1973, live on bbc. FOCUS was a Dutch prog rock band with Thijs van Leer (organist and flutist) and Tim Akkerman (guitarist) and played a combination of classical, rock and jazz.
This performance is legendary among the somewhat older music fans. Especially since they only got 4 minutes for a 7 minute song. Solution .... PLAY FASTER ... A real must watch video. Bit strange, but fantastic! Have placed the link below. Also a link from Brian May talking about Tim Akkerman and Focus, possibly a nice intro movie (45 seconds) for the video.

All his 'beste zangers' performances are amazing, to me he is the best contestant sofar.
This is a great version, and it forced Tommie to use everything he had in him, its one of those deceiving songs, its one of the most difficult songs Freddie has sung so that makes Tommie's performance even more impressive to me.
This is one of my favorite performances from the show, and hoped you guys would get around to it.

Love you are flabbergasted! This is only a little gift from our Netherlands...... Most artist overhere are not gods like in The united states. Maybe its time to make a show like this overthere, without the usual competition and just to get the feel off a lot of talent.
Tommie Christiaan is a musicalstar in the Netherlands. In the best singers he did Caruso. Caruso is an opera song but the reactions on Tommie were amazing. They thought it was justice to the song. He sings it in Italian as the song should be. Maybe nice to see and hear. He is also really good.
