Happy I found this video! About to do this on my 2018 Q7 but the passenger side
Hi hi. Good evening. Mine is similar: 2011 Audi q7 (4L, 3.0t engine) no compression on cylinder 3 and all others still have compression. So I will need to remove the right/passenger side. Thanks for this video and when would you be posting the part 2?
Thank you for sharing this DIY section. Same engine in my Touareg hybrid 2011 and it's time to replace the valve steam seals ,so I have to remove upper chain covers. The problem is the combi valves heat shield. In my car there are three torx hold it in place.I can reach the two bolts but for the third catalytic must removed. As I can see in the video you removed two bolts from the heat shield and then bend somehow. Did it work and give access to the chain cover bolts? At the end after put it back did you rebend the heat shield in first possition and put the bolts on it? Thank you in advance.
I’m also interested in part 2 ? Putting it back together.
Very nice video, interisted to see part 2
I like your video I wish if I had done it this way , I had to take out the whole engine and transmission.
You can remove it this way but risk damaging components without using the special locking tools for crank and cams. Also you'll never time the chains correctly without the tools.
What exactly has to be locked ?
Is there a part two putting it together??
