Cleo said it best a few weeks ago, that people forget because he dies a lot that Scar is actually pretty good at the game.
Yeah. I often wonder if his medical issues might make using a keyboard a little tricky once in a while, or hurt his situational awareness or something, cause the skill he generally shows really doesn’t match with his death counter at all.
For keeping track of HP, you could use signs
Even just 1 sign and each player uses their own side of it.

Casually listening to this in the background only to hear Scar say "Ok where do I take my clothes off" and Beef replying "There's a bed right over here" just brightened my whole morning

TCG GO really feels like the hermits are actually collecting cards at school or something. Walking through the halls and “I challenge you!” Stop what your doing and play on the floor
in my school it was "I challenge you" and then awkwardly figuring out where there was a table you could use and if there was enough time before the next lesson x3 one of the only good parts of being at school was having people to play Pokémon against

You could always play TCG Go in a shulker box, so that you don’t need items frames on hand all the time. Also makes it feel like you’re playing “on a table” with your cards laid out.

Everyone should carry an extra dispenser and a stack of personal fireworks. Cub would appreciate this for sure.
Oo the personal fireworks are a good shout; put each players in the dispenser. So if its yours for your coinflip its a heads, if its your opponents firework for your coinflip its a tails
I was going to support the dispenser with fireworks idea as well, though I thought Beef and Cub could come up with new 'TCG Special' fireworks. Perhaps even fancy once or basic 'Easy as 123' versions depending on hermit preferences.

This is the third time I've seen Cub's fireworks display at Big Wood and it's still just as impressive the third time round omg. Also I love the idea behind TCG Go! That's such a cool way to play it. :D I'm excited to see how the playtesting goes tbh. Might have to try this on the Creo minecraft server too. :D I do like the idea of a second dispenser for the coin flip tho, that seems like the easiest way to manage it tbh. Partner with Cub for the green and red fireworks! Then Hermits can always go get some to stock up their box when they need it.
For TCGo it might be good to include book and quill for tracking in each set, especially for someone who owns the permit to those xD

Love TCGGo. You could always put a sign in your game pack for tracking health.
A sign is a great idea! Editable signs are such a good addition to the game
For the coin flip!! Everyone has an extra dispenser and a set of there own firework (the ones cub made) and then you just hope yours fires, this also makes sure that cub keeps selling the thing he worked so hard on!
You could track health using a sign in game or put it in chat too
Instead of pen and paper for health you could use a book and quill so everything stays in game and organized
13:30 For the head or tail u can put 2 stacks of firework(one red ,one green) in the pack. Each player (looks down and)fire one if the colors match then head and if they don't then tail.

Thank you, Beef, for doing cards for Skizz and Joel by hand. We've seen how much work it is, and you're awesome for being willing after an entire season of nearly just maps.
For the coin flip, how about just having the players put their hermits in the dispenser (since each deck only has one) and whichever hermit pops out, that player goes first. (Or chooses who goes first)
For TCG Go, another dispenser with 1 red concrete and 1 green concrete is probably the way to go. Just plop it somewhere both players can reach it. Also remind players to carry relevant status blocks if they are using poison or burn.
Idea. Double chest as play field. Either split top and bottom for either player with 3 lanes for hermits/items/effects/health (modified to be 0 - 9 for 100s and 00 - 90 for the tens) OR split left and right for 5+ lanes just without health. This you can still have a standard deck. Also I just like the visual of a bunch of hermits gathered around an open double chest like adventurers finding a crate of loot
The point of it is to be a shorter, quicker game as well, I believe. So, playing with a full deck wouldn't work.

Coin flip could be a dropper with a 2 items, renamed to heads/tails, like green/red dye (or custom designed coin faces?).
Just observe which drops out and replace - avoids using consumables in the box.

Simply put the dye back in after each roll, no need to restock fireworks.
The falling is easy. The landing is where one needs to excel.
For the coin flip, could add another dropper and button, and add 4 rabbit heads for heads, and 4 of their hides for tails. Whichever pops out of the dropper wins.
Love the concept of tcg go! If you used a dropper and any two items to represent heads and tails, your wouldnt need to even refill your tcg deck, which (arguably) makes one less thing to even bother refilling so its far more sustainable.
Could even nake a pair of iron nugget textures for a tcg_coin* one with a salmon and one with a goat for heads and tails

As a joke, you could include a record player and a custom record with the Pokémon battle music, or maybe a horn to signify the start of a TCG Go battle.

I second these ideas: signs for exp tracking; second dispenser used for coin flips with rockets….or dropper with green and red blocks
I love your videos, they have such a chill vibe to them. The music, your manner, and the overall hermitcraft server.
If you want a "coin flip" that's more sustainable than red/green rockets, you can do a dispenser with rock/paper/scissors (use a sword or axe for scissors).
Depeche Mode is so good! Their version of Personal Jesus is my favorite. Also im with BDubs, the amount of work and choreography in that fireworks made me tear up a little 😅 i didnt know Minecraft fireworks could be that cool!!
What about using a sign for tracking HP in TCG go? You can edit the sign to update the HP each turn
For a coin flip you could use a dispenser or berry bush, check whether the item goes left or right. Or same idea with a newborn chicken. Or even place and mine a dirt block, see if the item falls to the left or right.

1 to hold red n blue fireworks for your coin flips, which will help cub
And the 2nd to hold golden carrots, each represents 10 hp, so 28 golden carrots = 280 hp, might add to carrot sales? Or maybe another food ? Cakes?

You should hit up Etho for his seven segment display design and make an arena where the health is red stone rather than a map. Not sure how feasible this would be lol but it’d be cool
Big Salmon would probably love a full TCG arena. Skizz and Joel didn't get to experience that awesomeness.
Maybe for TCG go hermits can write the hp of their hermit on a sign. They'd edit the sign throughout the game. This would allow both players to see the hp of the opposing hermit. It's also not hard to carry around one sign.
You could throw a chicken egg for a coin toss. If a chicken hatches it’s heads, if not it’s tails.
With all the fish and fishing builds on the server, i really want to see a fishing game added to the server, and big salmon has already provided the loot.
The game:
Based on Gem's dredge theme, you make fishing/dredging spots on the various deeper water parts of the map.
The water section an emptied bit of ocean making a pit at the bottom/surrounded in blue glass/whathaveyou to make it look pretty.
To activate the game, you have to throw some bait (retextured pumpkin? Something else?) down into the hole, which will make some fish/other appear out of dispensers/droppers for the player to fish out with a fishing rod. Eg. Basic salmon/cod, heads, boots, etc, and for gem's theme, abberant salmon/cod/whatever that are worth extra.
The fishing catch can be returned at gem's fish market and used to purchase TCG cards / valued in big salmon bucks.
The extra catch for the game is that a hermit has to built a suitable boat for fishing by a fishing hole before it can be used.
So the gameplay loop is:
1. Go find a fishing hole on the server
2. Build a boat (or add a second boat if competitive -- you as the game runner can add extra loot to popular spots if theres more boats, and then have spots be fished out )
3. Use purchased bait to make the fishing game start (a redstoner could figure out the details of having a specifc shulk sound or item filter trigger the dispensers/droppers)
4. Catch the fish/loot with a fishing rod
5. Bring back the loot to the fish market
6. Buy tcg cards, and play tcg go
...
7. Exhange rare loot with other hermits
8. Go look at all the cool boats that hermits make
9. Set up some tcg go arenas on those boats to spend the time on fishing minigame cooldowns

for coin flips: you could have the opponent pick a 1 or a 2 and if you guess correctly it's heads, if you are incorrect it's tails
Idea for the coin flip for TCG go,just add another dispenser/dropper with two torches like a Redstone one and a soul fire one,and that can determine heads or tails,(you could also make a custom texture for them if you want)!?!?!😁
For determining heads or tails you could have both players holding 2 identical blocks like one could be red concrete and the other could be green concrete. The Way they determine heads or tails is they each simultaneously throw out one of those blocks. If the blocks match it's heads if they don't it's tails.

An idea is you could have the health in a book and quill, because I think it’s better to have everything in game
If Cub makes an arena, it would be cool if the Hermits could load their specialized fireworks, so the winner would be displayed with their personal fireworks exploding.

Beefy tune: you need to see a Brazilian guy playing and singing, Lucas Inutilismo. He now have his music, but he became famous playing "2020 em uma música" his channel is named "Inutilismo". I'm certain that you gonna love it! ❤
No need for green & red fireworks or anything like that. The simplest way to achieve a 'coin flip' is to just add a second dropper to the TCG Go box - that's all!
Players quickly murder each other before starting the game, creating a 'head' item to represent 'heads', and then just use any old item for tails (ie. a torch, everybody carries torches) - for this they really should be droppers, not dispensers, just in case people use something 'dispensable' to represent tails.
(Although, simply including a head in the box as well would technically make it more portable, as you wouldn't need to have a bed handy/nearby)
Alternatively you could always just use any two items and call one of them heads, but that leaves potential to forget/be dishonest about which is which.
so the first season was physically made arena's, second season is duel disks, third season will be tcg on motorbikes edition? cant wait to see how that happens.
The hardcore series scar talking about was double life. Basically scar and Grian where sharing hearts if one takes damage the other does to if one dies the other dies.
Basically what happened is Etho and Smallishbeans were trying burn the jelly pandas in retaliation for scar burning the boat.
Scar immediately saw them and jumped off a high platform and you can hear tango go okay he is de…. And then you hear Grian absolutely freaking out while other are in shock. I think that moment is the only time I think tango has been rendered speechless.
It was even made funnier by smallishbeans saying that was impressive we’re leaving right Etho?

For heads and tails, you could use choras fruit, stand on your hermit. If you teleport foward it is heads, backwards is tails
You forget you can throw stuff back into the shulker box, y'know.
In any case, an easy way to track health is through "chips", which is pretty much a stack of something of your choice where the size is one per 10 health. (Primarily because there's no damage source that hits at 5s, only 10s.)
For the coin flip, another dispenser/dropper and fill it with 4 salmon and 4 cod. salmon being heads obviously :p lol seems in line with the big ominous salmon energy
WOW Hi. It was fun getting to see you & Scar Doing your Game at the start of the video. An wow what a opening show to the wood shop. Its the first time i seen it. it was great. I hope all 27 of the hermits where there for it.
It would be cool if the wandering trader had a (small) chance to sell a random TCG card.
That is one helluva beefy tune. Never listened to a lot of Depeche Mode, but that was great.

Beef should make a 'free basalt voucher', and put that in the reward chest at the bottom. Then when hermits try the challenge and if they succeed, they can exchange the voucher/token for their stack, and he could keep track of if hermits are playing his minigame.

Coin flip could be a short wooden-sword PVP. You'd have to add wood and a bed to the shulkerbox. Cheap
For the coin flips, just stand side by side with your opponents, and throw an item on the floor, whoever picks it up decides 😂
You can do the TCG go coin flip with chicken chances. 5 eggs thrown gives you a 50/50 whether a chicken is hatched. You would just need to get some stacks of 5.eggs in the box
Coin flip should be a dispenser in each box and every hermit has to carry a stack of their personalized rockets from cubs shoo in their box. And your rocket is a win and their rocket is a loss or vice versa depending on who is trying to get the flip bonus
Low-fi Coin flip ideas:
1. Eggs. Take turns throwing. First person to spawn a chicken wins
2. Stand next to each other, drop an item, first to pick it up.
3. Random stat poker compare, highest/lowest wins
Instead of a coin flip, you could make the hermits play rock paper scissors

For TCG Go coin flips, maybe ask Xisuma or Tango to add a /trigger that picks a random 0 or 1 in chat? It should be a simple little datapack function to add.
