@@DanielNerd given that last season, Doc skipped the whole 'kill the ender dragon' and instead kept it as a pet, it might be a little below his pay grade at this point.

Whenever Hermits check their statistics, I love to pause and see if there’s anything interesting. I was not disappointed at 32:50 to see “Distance by Pig - 4043.17 km”

1 block is 1 meter, so a km is 1000 blocks, distance by pigs is accurate as you times the 4000km by 1000 for number of blocks, which makes 4M blocks
With context, it's more impressive that he's traveled more by elytra than by pig.

The nice thing about Golden Apples, aside from the buff and obvious flexing, is that you can also eat them while your hunger bar is full to stack up on saturation. And if you get stuck in your machine, eat a golden apple before using one of your powerful rockets and that kinetic energy might not be so bad lol
It has not gone unnoticed the fact that your autocrafter setup is a direct upgrade to your mass crafting setup from last season. I'm really happy to see that you never abandon previous concepts and you always diligent upgrade them when possible. Really great work.

Doc, distance flown is just distance in the air moving forward. Think sprint jumping, kickback, explosions, etc. The statistic came before the elytra

If you're looking for uses for beacons why not use them for signaling all sort of stuff around your base ?
You already have the beacon for when the autocrafter is running, but you can take it further

The current pace, this season is heading, I'm pretty sure, that by the episode 40, doc will have:
1. Replace deepslate diamond ore as redstone holder, with either bedrock, deepslate coal/emerald ore.
2. Will transport stronghold end portal, to the farlands
3. Will remove world border or something.
4. After that the hermits will cave, and he will make sand duper duper, that dupes sand dupers.
5. Will make a machine, that plays Minecraft for him.
6. Will get anvil or salmon killed by someone.
7. And for season finale in revenge for his death, will summon Herobrine.
doc in episode 50 be like "yea, so, I built this farm that produce new hermits, using an AI built from redstone, so they could place sand for me"
@@DanielNerdthat is technically possible if you think, computers read binary which is a 1 or a 0, electrical signal or no signal. In Minecraft, red stone can either be on or off. If you had a large enough system of transistors (A microscopic cell which either holds an electric impulse or not (binary)) you could theoretically code a program in Minecraft, and if you had billions of transistors and a smart logic system you could create an AI program in Minecraft.
@@GXT_ROGUE not only its possible, but redstone computers were a thing since redstone was a thing, people managed to make calculators that draw graphs, make a multi application operating system, make programmable jukebox, and even play doom in 16 colors and minecraft! people also made ran that is equal to the computers that landed us on the moon for the first time, and much more! the technical community is crazy.

@@GXT_ROGUEmattbatwings did just create a neural network with redstone, so not that far-fetched. Even if an LLM was possible to create, though, the compute requirements might be more than the game/server could handle especially since everything would be translated to the CPU via the game, so no GPU acceleration.

When i first heard universal auto-crafter, my mind instantly went to cubicmetre with his recent video. For a moment i was genuinely scared, because wasn't sure if doc is insane enough to actually build an unfinished prototype.
Same, and who knows maybe he'll reach out to him and have the concept done by the end of the season, the hive mind grows

A cool design option for the giant crafting grid would be to replicate the design of the crafting table using stained glass. That way you can still see the crazy innards. That thing is amazing
To make the autocrafting good for large projects where you need many different items, you could setup a queue of some sort. You already have the controls for locking in a new recipe, and noting when the crafting is complete.
All you would need to add is chests above each input with more shulker boxes and a designated item to detect, indicating that the next shulker is for a new recipe. For example:
each feeder chest could all have 14 shulkers with the ingredients for pistons in the respective places, then place shears (or whatever indicator) in the 15th slot. In the 16th to whatever slot, then place x number of shulkers with observer ingredients, then shears - so on and so forth. Each time the shears are detected, it locks the new recipe. Once crafting is completed, it takes in more shulkers until more shears are detected.
While this would be really slow, and I am sure people could make infinitely better systems for queueing, it is infinitely scalable with your current setup. Just add chests and hoppers. Then when you go to log for the night you can add everything you need to craft for a new project and have it ready in the morning (obviously need to be careful with getting the number of shulkers (and their respective ingredients) right, as a mistake would cause the system to break.

Every episode of yours is a treat! What will you do next? Make the world's fastest dark oak farm? Travel millions of blocks in a minute? Duplicate the dragon egg thousands of time? The best part is that it's not like one of the crazy fast paced non-genuine "100 days in minecraft hardcore" videos. Your videos are so much more real despite being the most unbelievable.
And that's what makes doc awesome, he's a real person who helped build an awesome community, not just some clout farmer looking for views.
because unlike a "100 days in singleplayer" series you get proof of Doc's game-breaking shenanigans from POV's of other hermits!

Doc, the 4043 km traveled by pig is 4 million blocks. So it's not skewed. The interesting thing is you still traveled by Elytra more; 4.8 million blocks.

Last day I was reading the old Minecraft guide handbook thing about redstone. Lots of cool circuits, even by today’s standards. And I was wondering, what would it look like if Doc was contributing to an update to it with today’s machinery ? It’d be wild.

Okay folks, so now we're going to accumulate boat momentum in partially loaded chunks, then trigger an update to make the game calculate the next boat position as 1000 blocks forward in 1 tick through a swathe of unloaded chunks. Reference diagram in crayon:
Far away base, fear of encroachment, complex automatic resource gathering, interdimensional travel, and now item manufacturing. Doc is just playing StarCraft without the aliens.
Of all Doc's thumbnail features this one was more eyecatching to me. It has contrast via the simple colors and the shapes give a sense of motion. Great piece!

I read the title and was afraid you'd build a version of cubicmetre's 1728-crafter machine. Glad to see you went for a more server-friendly option
I googled the discrepancies in statistics (i looked at the minecraft forum) and apparently, Distance Flown counts any in-air movement not on an entity or gliding by elytra, even sprintjumping apparently increases it (but not regular jumping)
as for the Distance by Pig, looks like it only counts up when the pig is walking
if it counts gliding by elytra, why does is it not more than the elytra statistic?...

Universal AUTO CRAFTING?! AM I READING THIS CORRECTLY? My first assumption from reading the title of it simply being the momentous task of getting one of every single item in Minecraft was wrong, I guess, you're not the GOAT for nothing! T-T
Cubic Metre has a 1 hour video explaining it all, but I think he added sequential crafting in later in his design. Because I am certain you can get around that issue by simply adding a special crafting section

a single crafter autocrafter? it's crazy to see that, i made a super low-tech one back when they first came out (because i'm not a redstoner, i just wanted to try my hand at it after watching xisuma's video theorizing about it- and not actually coming up with a solution) where you just set up the recipe yourself, like add all the filler items and ingredients in the proper order- oriented vertically because it's just hoppers and pots- then you just set it and forget it. it never broke on me, obviously it wasn't working with shulkers of items or anything, but i like to imagine i basically made a paper pinwheel while the hivemind was making wind turbines, really cool to see that in action and it makes me wonder how much i could optimize my design even with my limited skills...
personally i used xp bottles for the filler because they're truly uncraftable (and easy to get with villagers, i just realized), i wonder how it would work to make a multi-crafter design for mass crafting at 2x 3x or even 4x speed, all you'd need to do is ensure everything's split apart evenly and you'd be golden

The 1 lesson I learned about compact redstone during my time dealing with compacting stuff and building really compact designs from some people:
If the system works well, without needing to manually check on parts on the inside: encase it in something solid, so you only deal with the control panel and IO (input/output) of the system.
On another note, I've seen an automatic generic crafter (multi stage one at that!) built receantly, but even the guy who built it sais that it's not only directional, he tested it in multiple worlds, and didn't work in all of them, so probably locational. It can craft a truckload of items at once though. Like, you can input up to 27 shulkers in each slot to work it at full power, set products aside in temp storage for multi level crafting, etc.
It doesn't really take colored wool of every color as a crafting material though, as colored wool was set up as the markers for which slot the temporarily stored material from either the temp storage, or the non-stackable temp storage should go.
Crafting? Mining? HAH what are those things? Is that even a thing?

Your distance travelled on Pig (4043km) is noted in kilometers (1000 blocks) and not meters (1 block). So in blocks your distance travelled on Pig is 4043 x 1000 = 4,043,000 blocks
An additional food flex could be to have a saturation station, with automatcally made suspicious stews with the saturation effect, same concept as the shulker barfer

Doc building gold farm at the world border will definitely make xisuma confused everytime while pruning.
I think putting indicator lights around the input barrels of the universal crafter could be a good idea. That way you could easily track which barrels already have shulker boxes with items in them.
Each time I watch a Doc video, I always go "How will he top this?". Then a new video come out and I always go "OH THAT'S HOW!"
The autocrafter 3x3 grid reminds me of the crafting grid you build into the floor of your base last season! Super cool!

for the distance by pig statistic: that measured 40 000 km - and each Minecraft block is equivalent to 1 metre. so 40 000 km = 40 000 000 m, which does check out!
Distance Flown = Distance traveled upwards and forwards at the same time, while more than one block above the ground.
That distance can be from anything, jumping, knockback, explosions, etc. It's a pretty weird statistic that pre-dates the elytra.
Doc should collect the drops from the zombified Piglins that keeps jumping down from his potal. It would not only optemise his base, but it would be fun to watch how much he actually collects by the end of the season.

The distance by pig statistic is actually surprisingly accurate. It says 4000 km, so that is 4 million m, which is the distance to the far lands in the nether!
I love the long explanations of your redstone builds, i've learned a lot and have now build your basic starter base (without the tree farms) and am trying to make the sorter system, but it require a lot of pausing, and rewatch of the video 😅
If only there was some kind of chunk trimming, data manipulation thing you could do to reset the chests in a desert temple. If there were then Doc could farm Enchanted Golden Apples, which would be the ultimate flex for a food source. I guess normal Golden Apples will have to do.

WRT your "Distance via porcine locomotion" stat, remember, a minecraft block is 1m*1m*1m and you were yeeted to a coordinate of about 4 million. That stat was measured in kilometers. The number checks out.
