To make the autocrafting good for large projects where you need many different items, you could setup a queue of some sort. You already have the controls for locking in a new recipe, and noting when the crafting is complete. All you would need to add is chests above each input with more shulker boxes and a designated item to detect, indicating that the next shulker is for a new recipe. For example: each feeder chest could all have 14 shulkers with the ingredients for pistons in the respective places, then place shears (or whatever indicator) in the 15th slot. In the 16th to whatever slot, then place x number of shulkers with observer ingredients, then shears - so on and so forth. Each time the shears are detected, it locks the new recipe. Once crafting is completed, it takes in more shulkers until more shears are detected. While this would be really slow, and I am sure people could make infinitely better systems for queueing, it is infinitely scalable with your current setup. Just add chests and hoppers. Then when you go to log for the night you can add everything you need to craft for a new project and have it ready in the morning (obviously need to be careful with getting the number of shulkers (and their respective ingredients) right, as a mistake would cause the system to break.

Universal AUTO CRAFTING?! AM I READING THIS CORRECTLY? My first assumption from reading the title of it simply being the momentous task of getting one of every single item in Minecraft was wrong, I guess, you're not the GOAT for nothing! T-T
Cubic Metre has a 1 hour video explaining it all, but I think he added sequential crafting in later in his design. Because I am certain you can get around that issue by simply adding a special crafting section
a single crafter autocrafter? it's crazy to see that, i made a super low-tech one back when they first came out (because i'm not a redstoner, i just wanted to try my hand at it after watching xisuma's video theorizing about it- and not actually coming up with a solution) where you just set up the recipe yourself, like add all the filler items and ingredients in the proper order- oriented vertically because it's just hoppers and pots- then you just set it and forget it. it never broke on me, obviously it wasn't working with shulkers of items or anything, but i like to imagine i basically made a paper pinwheel while the hivemind was making wind turbines, really cool to see that in action and it makes me wonder how much i could optimize my design even with my limited skills... personally i used xp bottles for the filler because they're truly uncraftable (and easy to get with villagers, i just realized), i wonder how it would work to make a multi-crafter design for mass crafting at 2x 3x or even 4x speed, all you'd need to do is ensure everything's split apart evenly and you'd be golden
Distance Flown = Distance traveled upwards and forwards at the same time, while more than one block above the ground. That distance can be from anything, jumping, knockback, explosions, etc. It's a pretty weird statistic that pre-dates the elytra.
the way doc resents the phrase "i dont like to do anything [editing]" paired with his attitude of "how DARE you make me do smth by hand" is truly a sight to behold LOL
Hey doc I just wanted to share my appreciation for your video style. Instead of doing what RUclips wants, feeding us high paced content, you give us pure and passionate gameplay. The nostalgia of this style really hit me this video for some reason, which is something I don’t feel often. So thank you.
11:53, Similar to how Gem has one for her mailbox, you could use some to indicate when the auto crafting is in progress and/or complete. 28:02, The output is proportionally the same as it would be from the stonecutter, but only limited to multiples of 3. 33:32, Creative flying may be that flown distance, so it could be Free-cam while on the server. 39:59, Since it only shows as high as km, That should be accurate when you went 4M blocks.
"I don't like to do anything" -Doc while standing on the Diamond-Glas-Skeleton of his Base, thinking of eating golden Apples for the flex. Yeah... While his base produces more Warnings in the Mincraft logfiles then normal Informations... You are my favorite RUclipsr Doc! And I watch A LOT of youtube!
The 1 lesson I learned about compact redstone during my time dealing with compacting stuff and building really compact designs from some people: If the system works well, without needing to manually check on parts on the inside: encase it in something solid, so you only deal with the control panel and IO (input/output) of the system. On another note, I've seen an automatic generic crafter (multi stage one at that!) built receantly, but even the guy who built it sais that it's not only directional, he tested it in multiple worlds, and didn't work in all of them, so probably locational. It can craft a truckload of items at once though. Like, you can input up to 27 shulkers in each slot to work it at full power, set products aside in temp storage for multi level crafting, etc. It doesn't really take colored wool of every color as a crafting material though, as colored wool was set up as the markers for which slot the temporarily stored material from either the temp storage, or the non-stackable temp storage should go.
I love the long explanations of your redstone builds, i've learned a lot and have now build your basic starter base (without the tree farms) and am trying to make the sorter system, but it require a lot of pausing, and rewatch of the video 😅
Delightful as always! Yeah, that kindergarten not being available is a pretty big deal for parents. Glad you got to spend extra time with Doccy though. ❤ Thank you for sharing your time and community. 😊
You know what can make or break an entire week for doc? Not Grain or Iskall but kindergarden! Also @34:20 4000 km by pig is 4.000.000 blocks by pig. so it's about right for the distance to the farlands. No record breakage here. ... also also: Is it possible to make a gold & bartering farm at the world border AND THEN send those items back to the swamp via hyperloop boats? ... I mean if a pig can fly that far, then surely an exactly calibrated boat can... right?
I was thinking Doc could fill his enderchest & maybe inventory with shulker boxes, but boat warping does seem like a much more... effective way to transmit the mass items
Lol the image of a phantom hiding from the sun under the bed in the middle of the day is something! Not sure quite what degree of irony it is, but it's something, lol!
An additional food flex could be to have a saturation station, with automatcally made suspicious stews with the saturation effect, same concept as the shulker barfer
34:05 4 000km is 4 000 000 blocks, so it should be right. What's interesting is that you've already flown further than that trip this season, who needs a teleporter!
Your distance travelled on Pig (4043km) is noted in kilometers (1000 blocks) and not meters (1 block). So in blocks your distance travelled on Pig is 4043 x 1000 = 4,043,000 blocks
I can already see Doc build a entire storage system, with 6 layers of double chests. [building blocks filled with shulkers], and have a autocrafter/shulker loader system to get EVERY item in the game in a easy to find storage system
It just hit me that last season and this season Doc built crazy machines that make both mining and crafting redundant. Next season I wouldn’t be surprised if he tried going for Notch’s throne itself
As far as I am concerned, RUclips is wrong about the thumbnail. This was one of the most visually striking thumbnails I have seen on my homepage in a long time! Drew my eyes like a moth to the flame each time I opened RUclips today!
Now that Doc has a universal crafter, he just needs to fully automate it from start to finish, so he programs in an item and the system feeds itself from storage. Imagine being able to say "I need observers" or "I need droppers" and it does everything... Though I guess Tango's got a good head start with his redstone factory. As Doc takes it as a challenge.
For the more common crafted items you should set up auto crafters to fill their own chests for use later. This crafter is great for making bulk of whatever you want as you go, but a dedicated hopper crafter, for example, would make excess in the background without any input. Especially if you hook it up to your storage system.
The moment 1.21 enters its conception, the top technical folks are ALREADY on their way to make universal crafter factories. Just like how the founding Goatmother intended...

a single crafter autocrafter? it's crazy to see that, i made a super low-tech one back when they first came out (because i'm not a redstoner, i just wanted to try my hand at it after watching xisuma's video theorizing about it- and not actually coming up with a solution) where you just set up the recipe yourself, like add all the filler items and ingredients in the proper order- oriented vertically because it's just hoppers and pots- then you just set it and forget it. it never broke on me, obviously it wasn't working with shulkers of items or anything, but i like to imagine i basically made a paper pinwheel while the hivemind was making wind turbines, really cool to see that in action and it makes me wonder how much i could optimize my design even with my limited skills...
personally i used xp bottles for the filler because they're truly uncraftable (and easy to get with villagers, i just realized), i wonder how it would work to make a multi-crafter design for mass crafting at 2x 3x or even 4x speed, all you'd need to do is ensure everything's split apart evenly and you'd be golden
I really love the use of fan art as thumbnails, it really draws your attention because it stands out
and all that thanks to the amazing artists!
No need to apologize for short episodes. I enjoy all your content.
And I watch A LOT of youtube!
im so impressed by docs consistent ability to come up with insane ideas and then pull them off
The sky poking through the outline of the storage system is studied like a goat face at 12:58
OK artists, you heard him. Doc is a Phantom. Time for Phatom of Hermitcraft memes ala Phantom of the Opera. He more or less already has the half mask.
Doc: There's inflation on the server, I won't be doing much buying.
Also Doc: Uses diamond ore to place all his redstone.
31:50 we told you, doc. Called it way back when you first got the power 3 rockets. we ALL called it, that those would be your death. heh
Doc is truly the GOAT!!
When 1 Minecraft block is 1 meter then 1km is 1000 blocks and 4000km is 4 million block. So your distance by pig statistic is about right.
The 1 lesson I learned about compact redstone during my time dealing with compacting stuff and building really compact designs from some people:
If the system works well, without needing to manually check on parts on the inside: encase it in something solid, so you only deal with the control panel and IO (input/output) of the system.
Doc at 20 minutes in: I won’t over explain the machine.
Doc the next 25 minutes: Explains the machine.
An additional food flex could be to have a saturation station, with automatcally made suspicious stews with the saturation effect, same concept as the shulker barfer
Have a good weekend Doc! Looking forward to watching this episode!
Removing dummy items to leave only the items required for the recipe is a genious idea and works perfectly! 👍
Crafting? Mining? HAH what are those things? Is that even a thing?
-Doc when talking about the primary task of playing Minecraft in survival.
33:31 maybe its the shulker effect? There's the achievement for going 100 feet so maybe they call that flying
That ticking beat the autocrafter plays could be a really dope backtrack to a fast paced upbeat jazz combo song
34:05 4 000km is 4 000 000 blocks, so it should be right. What's interesting is that you've already flown further than that trip this season, who needs a teleporter!
Doc’s intros are literally on another level of awesomeness. Love the epic metal music with the slow zoom in. 🤘🏻#GOATday
only non-doc watchers would think he wasn't wholesome lol, this man is a total softie
The autocrafter 3x3 grid reminds me of the crafting grid you build into the floor of your base last season! Super cool!
Your distance travelled on Pig (4043km) is noted in kilometers (1000 blocks) and not meters (1 block). So in blocks your distance travelled on Pig is 4043 x 1000 = 4,043,000 blocks
The „I think is a good idea“ to the golden apples as a main food source is the docest most goat answer he could haven given
I can already see Doc build a entire storage system, with 6 layers of double chests.
Doc casually dropping the sickest euro beat 23:00
It would be pretty funny to get linked into the post system by using quantum boats, though it might have to be a one way system.
32:44
Yup, that's gonna be in the horn shop
The moment 1.21 enters its conception, the top technical folks are ALREADY on their way to make universal crafter factories. Just like how the founding Goatmother intended...
Killer thumbnail btw!
For real. The fan art about this server is absolutely fantastic.
34:18 doc, the statistics is correct! 4000 kilometers IS 4kk blocks!
Goat's Only Automate Tediously
I love the recursion
