it's good to see more and more people becoming aware of Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci. They deserve so much more publicity than they get, as inde[endent artists. Left to Right. Geoff Castellucci, J.None, Eli (ellie) Jacobson, Cesar de la Rosa, Layne Stein. I can't tell you as the video is very quiet but it was probably Geoff you heard. He has worked hard for years on developing his bass range and it often surprises people. VoicePlay don't just sing. They put everything they've got into every song, whatever the genre.
@@RikPixel_ But it equally could have been Layne, though that tone was very Geoff-like. Layne can go almost as low as Geoff just not in singing. That whoa sound you heard during the violin I am pretty sure was Layne. He did something similar in Enemy.
They have MANY videos/covers that are fun if that's more your thing. They cover all genres. Drunken Sailor and We don't talk about Bruno (Encanto) is humorous. If you want epic (dressing up etc) their gaming songs are awesome (Valhalla Calling (Assassin's Creed), The Dragonborn comes (Skyrim), Halo and recently Sleeping in the Cold Below (Warframe)). 🌹🕊
Pre-Covid, Voiceplay toured extensively. When the world shut down, they concentrated on their studio work, which was always great, but has risen to a higher level. They have no plans to hit the road again. Geoff, Layne and Eli are all married with children and don't want to be gone for long. They have done a few private, corporate gigs. In fact, Disney was so impressed by their version of We Don't Talk About Bruno, that they had them sing it live at a company event. The band Chicago was impressed with their version of Nothing Else Matters and invited them to sing in concert with them last November. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff. He started a solo channel during the pandemic.
@@RikPixel_ If you like those low grizzly grumbly sounds, you might check out his recent mini of Trust in mMe from Disney’s jungle book. I’ve always loved this song, but he puts a whole new spin on it. I’ve got looped and go to bed listening to that every night as I drift off.
It's the special sauce that VoicePlay brings into every part of their pieces that make it special. Since they're independent they do almost everything themselves and the care plus creativity show in their work.
The whole point that you make about how, despite this being a much more serious cover, you can see how much fun they are having with it. THAT right there is so much of what sets VoicePlay apart from other groups for me. They are absolutely killing it with the vocals, and yet... you can see just how much fun they're having, and it is just... impossible to not be right there with them, having fun, too. It absolutely helps how ridiculously good their vocals are and the quality of their theatrics, but without that pure, unbridled joy that they have... they just aren't VoicePlay.
Wow - funny to see someone not get blown away when that violin flies in! But having just done "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" you had just seen VioLayne in action recently. Couldn't really surprise you as much. When "Nothing Else Matters" came out, Layne had only played his violin once before - a few years back - on "Warriors". Totally shocked a LOT of reactors! Subscribed to watch your VoicePlay (and hopefully Geoff Castellucci) journey into their rabbit holes
All my senses were on overload and the only other voiceplay video i had seen was the lion sleeps tonight. Thought it was the norm, not to say it wasn't awesome
I'm glad I read some of the previous comments, as I couldn't understand why you didn't seem to react to #VioLayne at all; but since the only VoicePlay videos you've seen are 2 of the 3 videos where an instrument is actually used in the video, it makes a lot more sense now! If you'd prefer a "lighter" form of video, VoicePlay can certainly oblige - any of their Disney ACA medleys, Moana medley, Little Mermaid medley, We Don't Talk About Bruno, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, or any of their 4 Nightmare Before Christmas songs would probably fit that description pretty well.
Geoff, J None, Eli, Cesar, Layne from your left to right. Geoff was doing the bass line, suspect Layne. I'd bet you'd like their version of In The Air Tonight (Phil Collins).
May i suggest reacting to Jacob Collier and his arrangement of “Moon River” featuring several dozen recognizable friends in the intro (see how many you can name)

Thank you.for the comment, I'll make sure to adjust the video volume

Thank you for the insights, could be worth checking out his solo channel and of course, more voice play

Drunken Sailor is another really fun one.

@@RikPixel_ Yeah - just happenstance that you had just seen him play
