iPod Classic is one of those device you can totally renew by yourself. Display, Battery, Click Wheel, Aluminum Face, Steel Housing, HDD to SSD ... and so on ... so why the hell not taking the time and money to order parts and repair it?
I have every single iPod classic. They all still work. I still use my 2nd gen or my 5th gen daily. I believe this is one of the greatest devices ever to be made. Every new one that came out was impressive for its time. And not to mention everyone drooled over their gorgeous clean design.
I've purchased a 120GB slim with broken hard drive, the battery is still good, some scratches on the back but no dents, faceplate is still perfect. I'm looking for a new hard drive and replace the back body cover by myself instead, saving almost 100€ and getting a perfect condition iPod Classic 120GB without paying 2-300€ for a pristine one selling on ebay
I was absolutely obsessed with getting an 5th gen iPod when I was in middle school when they came out. Like to the point where I was depressed about it. Looking back at it today still kind of gives me that feeling of lust and envy I had back them. Even though I have a 6th gen iPod that's been sitting in my drawer unused for years.
I took My 120gb iPod Classic out after years being unused, it’s still alive, and now I’ve been listening to music with it for days. Battery is still very good. Great product
It's a shame that you didn't mention the "7th Gen" iPod Classic 160 GB (2009) Basically it was just thinner than it's predecessor 160 GB model (being .12 in thicker than the 80 and 120 GB models)
I'm still listening to my 60GB 5th gen iPod nearly 20 years later. I've had MBP and other Apple hardware, but nothing compares to the 5th gen iPod. It is one of the absolute best hardware interfaces that Apple has ever produced. I'm terrified to plug it into a computer, but I had it maxed out on songs, so it will forever house that music and the many playlists from all my house parties. I have no idea why, but I used dates in my party playlist names, so I still know the exact parties and people I was around for each, and some of those friends are no longer here (RIP), which makes those memories a bit extra special.
Streaming isn’t any good if you have a taste in music that isn’t available from the streaming service. I have several favorite albums that aren’t even on iTunes.
still my go-to device. one connected to my sound system, one for travel, one connected to my car system, one just for toting around. A spare used for backing up. one connected to the old stereo in my workout room. I hope to be playing one of these things for many years to come. Best device ever.
You forgot the 2nd and final revision of the Classic (6G) released in September 2009 - the thin 160GB version. The ultimate iPod, in my opinion. Still using mine nearly ten years later.
I had the iPod 5th Gen, the first one that could play video. It seems rather quaint now, but having actual video playback on an iPod back in 2005 really was a revelation. It was obviously a revelation that would result in the iPhone about two years later.
I had one too, I loved it. It was my senior year of high school and I remember sitting in the back of class watching Napoleon Dynamite on the 2.5" screen.
@apao vergara Replace the battery and if you can afford it replace the hard drive with a solid state. My buddy upgraded his old iPod and now it runs great and has like 6 more hours of battery just because of the solid state.
Still got my 120 gig. It's been dropped, dunked, washed, and abused and I'll be damned if it isn't STILL kicking. Still use it as a hard drive for all my physical files and as a media input for a few TV shows and such. I love the little thing.
I love how something made In 2002 has more storage than my phone which came out in 2017. EDIT: why does this comment have like 400 likes, it's not even good 🤷♂️ Edit 2: this is a bad comment, stop replying lol Edit 3: please stop
I think the more impressive thing is they were using physical disks and not solid state memory in a form factor similar to a modern mobile phone. Though, if you only have 10GB storage in your phone from 2017 you should have paid the extra $50. Or, hopefully an sdcard slot.
It had a fragile hard drive, and if you dropped it while it was accessing you could kiss the hard drive goodbye. I did that at least ONCE. My 2017 phone has 256 Gigs, I have all my music. 11 Years of Mystery Science Theater 3000, a complete run of Rick and Morty, and all my favorite music videos. Still have space left.
Back when Apple made quality products, I still use my 5th gen iPod. I changed the battery a few years back because it couldn't hold a charge for very long about a couple of hours or less then it would die. It's great for working out or going out for a run. Don't have to worry about my phone dropping.
I love this history explanation. It makes me remember those iPod amazing and wonderful days. I still keep my iPod Classic 6th generation model and a iPod touch 1st gen in 2019!, love em
My dad has a 160 gb 6th gen model, and now he's out of storage. They should make a new iPod classic that works the same but has ssd storage and with even more
You for got the 7th generation iPod. I've had 5 Classics and love them. I just ordered a new one thru eBay; it was brand new. I have a huge iTunes library with music but more important over 1500 podcasts which drop automatically. I had to call Apple as to how to get it to sync but the gal with whom I spoke took her time and all worked. We forgot to sync the music but I was able to figure that out. Plus the podcasts would not stop, i.e., another episode followed. Did research and found the answer from a teckie. There are people like me who think the Classic is the way to go. Plus the sound is outstanding.
I purchased a iPod classic yesterday... haven't used it yet...but kinda played with it until my computer gets fixed....I have to reinstall and configure windows on my laptop
Offbrand Justin Y. Because streaming music doesn’t sound as good, and not to mention you have to always have an internet connection to listen to anything, while draining your phone battery and also having interruptions from text messages/ in coming calls/ notifications and what not, just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s better. The chips they used in these older iPods sound better than any iPod touch or any iPhone, these are facts, and that’s why these older iPods are sought after. And using these older iPods are not really any less convenient then streaming on your phone.
I could feel my heart skipping beats throughout this entire video. ~ Oh the nostalgia ~ Makes me want to go on eBay and buy one…. Just because. Well plus the fact that I never owned one - but nearly everyone I knew did and I enjoyed using them.
These things are the best and they're pretty easy to flashmod so you can replace that hard drive with much bigger and much more reliable microSD cards. I've got 500gb in my old 6th gen and I don't have to worry about the hard drive failing every time I accedentially drop or bump it. Soooo good.
Love the classic the only ipod I owned. I just revived it today after YEARS because it always gave me that message of "please wait battery is low" and it was stuck there for years smh but today finally its back and it feels good. Love the design and feels great. Such a shame it wasn't making apple profit such a shame.
I remember my friend going to his local Apple Store and buying one the first day it was available. Unlike the iPhone release almost six years later, there were no lines. Once he demoed it for me, I was sold, and I went and got mine the next weekend. I’ve been an iPod (and now iPhone) addict ever since.
I had a 4th generation iPod, an iPod mini, and an iPod touch. Out of all of them, I preferred my iPod touch. It’s more user friendly and has access to the Internet. To each his own, but I think your better off with what you got. Just my opinion. 😊
Yup, I ended up getting one as well back in the day. Still got my 1st gen iPod Touch still working fine minus some yellow tint to the screen now 12 years later..
I have my last generation iPod Classic for almost 10 yrs now. It still works gloriously. It's been in a rubber iPod case and I only dropped it 2X, from pocket to floor. It's only coming up on 2/3 full. Nothing on the market after it was discontinued I think in 2015. A shame Apple did that. I have a 5th gen Nano too. The classic has richer sound than the flash based Nano and all smartphones. I love that lil iPod Classic so much I bought a back up, refurbished one. I also have a Bose docking speaker in the house and an 11 speaker Bose system in my car. Nothing beats the sound, no commercials or subscription fees for lesser sound.
@@andrepedersen5924 File types? I use iTunes for my music, all CDs uploaded and songs I bought from iTunes. I have about 8 playlist and I shuffle them.
I bought a iPod Classic 2009 version (the very last one) a couple years ago and I’ve been using it almost every day since. My only complaint is that audio clips if the bass is too low. And I’ve had to replace the headphone piece twice already. Still a great machine. I appreciate the 180g capacity, it makes me feel like a king!
My very 1st iPod was the 4th gen non colored 20gb i got wayback 2005.... then shifted to iPod Photo U2 edition 4th gen tgat was already a colored screen... after that i got the iPod classic 80gb... when the very 1st iPhone 2G came out in 2007 i sold my very last iPod classic..... after long years having no iPod anymore, i bought again an iPod classic 160gb in 2019 coz i want to have a gadget that is only for playing music...since most people today use also their mobile for music....
I have the updated 6th gen version that has 160gb of storage. I bought it in Jan 2014, 8 months before Apple would discontinue the thing. If I had known at the time they would discontinue them, I would have bought 3 of them. They were 250 each and the only place I was able to get them was either apple.com or their store. Regular electronic stores stopped carrying them months ago. I still have my 160gb ipod, it still works and I still use it even after almost 5 years of owning it. My moms has one too and she still uses hers. I also have a 5th gen ipod touch 64gb and an ipad pro 10.5 with 256gb. If this ipod classic breaks I will try and replace the parts.
The 3rd gen iPod was always my favorite and was my first iPod. I loved the click wheel on it and how the pause, play, forward and back buttons lit up red
Honestly, I cannot recommend more flash modding a 4th or 5th (or 5.5 for that matter) gen, and filling it with music - you get better sound quality, and no distractions from phone calls or texts. There’s also a peculiar charm to the simplicity of that technology.
I hate Apple, but god damn I loved the iPod Classic. I'm going to mod it with an M Sata SSD soon. With Rockbox, it's simply the best MP3 player ever made.
Just recently bought one actually, 6th gen 80GB w/new battery. What led me to buy one is I noticed when I listen to music on my phone or laptop, I tend to get distracted with notifications or say "Oh I'll just real quick check my email" and it leads to a rabbit hole of checking social media, etc. most of the time. It's nice to have a dedicated music player again, one where you can just sit back, close your eyes and get lost in the music without any distractions. I think if Apple reintroduced the Classic with larger storage, an SSD or Flash memory, bluetooth support for wireless headphones/speakers and add streaming service support for Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, etc. I think it could potentially be a viable product in this day and age, I'd surely buy one.
I got myself the 5th gen iPod Classic as a Christmas present to myself from myself December 2023. I had looked at iPod Classics on Ebay and couldn’t quite make up my mind on what model I wanted and I looked at prices so I held off for awhile. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon a black iPod classic 5th gen on Ebay and picked it. The iPod’s back says 30 gb but was not only upgraded to 128 gb but has a new battery in it so I got the iPod. It came on December 23rd, two days before Christmas thus making it perfect timing. I decorated my iPod with a bright pink skin and got four clear cases decorated in puffy Pusheen Cat stickers thus dubbing my iPod as the Pusheenpod.
I'd love to see a new classic released. A touch screen device with physical volume and playback buttons that packs a premium headphone amp, 500gb memory, wireless and streaming capabilities as well as digital radio. It would only be a niche device though since an iPhone is a pretty great music player for the majority of people.
I remember having an iPod at one point. It was enjoyable to be able to put on a set of headphones and listen to music on my lunch break. I dont remember which specific model since it has been a while since I used it but it was enjoyable to have. Now I have my iPhone to listen to music, audiobooks, and movies.
The I pod classic was the best peice of tech I ever bought. It's a travesty they are no longer produced. I'd much rather have a separate dedicated device for listening to music than have it on my phone. Discontinuing it was a huge step backwards.
@@shauncameron8390 not for me!!! and millions of people who just want to listen music and podcasts and not deal with social media, phone and text! the ipod was retired becuase it didn't provide a continuous revnue stream for apple. with the i phone, they can continue to milk money from gormless consumers. plus an ipod has more storage than any i phone has to date. So it is not pointless and irrelevant. Far from it!
Hey Craig or Greg. I just want to make a correction. There was a 7th generation ipod classic that has 160gb of storage. It was my first and last ipod and and the hard drive in it failed and so i gave it away to someone who knew how to repair it. I miss it sometimes. I put all my 3000 songs in it including music videos.
It's a really good device. I use it more at home now, but it used to be my car music thingy, for about a decade. The only reason it isn't now, is that I drive for work and the phone works better for music, phone calls, navigation, etc all in one device.
I have the 6th gen 160 and still exclusively use it for music. It has the distinct advantage that is you don't have to be looking at it to use it. I ride motorcycles and can manipulate the controls with out looking at the device, while it's in my pocket, which you can't do with a iPod touch. Long live the classic iPod!
funny enough I just got one off eBay, add a new battery and an iFlash SD card unit and it's one hell of a device (but the 3rd gen and 1st/2nd gen are the most aesthetically pleasing) ;)
Great documentary Greg!! I have a nice collection of iPods. I will keep them forever! The prices of these devices has skyrocketed since Apple stopped selling them.
Ipod Classic is the only music player that can play ~40 Ohm impedance headphones extremely clearly in addition to play songs at up to 256Kbps! No matter where else I plug those headphones in, I cannot get the sound quality that I get in the ipod Classic 7th, 6th, 5.5 Gen models. The chip they used is really doing the magic I think. I bought a brand new ipod classic 7th Gen (Late 2009) in 2020 Nov from someone who didn't really Open the original box. I am so glad I did that. I have ipod Nano 3rd Gen 8GB, ipod classic 5.5 Gen 30 GB, ipod Classic 7th Gen 160GB! All works like a charm! The only apple product I respect! Android for life!
I just purchased a new-in-box silver iPod Classic off Amazon for $449. Perhaps the most expensive iPod product I've ever owned (aside from the iPod touch models I've owned which were pretty close to that price.) Granted I stream my music through Apple Music but I still have a backlog of over 3,000 songs from iTunes Store purchases over the last fifteen years. I may have Apple Music but for some artists, I want their entire album, sometimes even the actual physical CD itself (which involves hooking up another ancient piece of technology, an external CD drive). This iPod makes perfect sense then. I love my iPhone, I love my iPad, but I really loved the iPod line.
Since I was born in the very late 2000's, I didn't know an iPod+Hewlett Packard was a thing. And making it a OFFICIAL product for them!? Neat collaboration!
I still have mine. It's loaded with all kinds of media. I just got it out of storage and had a few laughs--a real time capsule back to the early MySpace days. I want to use it again because listening to music on an iPhone now means that they track everything that you do and it's really all about you buying more, not consumer happiness. That's just uncool. Being unplugged creates joy. :)
After getting my first iPod and burning all my CDs to my computer, I thought I wouldn’t need my cds ever again, so I sold most of them. Then in a short period of time my iPad was stolen and my computer’s HD crashed and I literally lost everything. And that’s when I started buying CDs again, but now with Spotify, I don’t need them anymore 😂
i remember my friend bough her iPod in 2004 with 20 GB of storage during my high school year, everyone was amazed with her iPod because most MP3 player at that time only have 128 MB - 512 MB capacity, my MP3 player at that time only have 256 MB and i can store 15-20 songs on it.
I an currently on my third and fourth iPods, the latter being a customised 5G with 128 Gb SD card storage and a gold front. I consider the iPod to be the finest piece of kit that I have ever owned.
Sometimes you want a music player to JUST be a music player and nothing else. The added complexity of the iPhone is sometimes a hindrance. Just want to listen to music and zone out, instead of looking at text messages or be interrupted by phone calls.
The first iPod I bought was a 3G (Red LEDS) with 15GB on tap. That one went to my old "significant other," since iPod Mini of the time had a sketchy reputation. I stumbled along with 4-16GB MP3 players from Sansa and Philips, until I found a 4G iPod (20GB) on eBay. I finally had a reason to use iTunes on the AlBook, ripping my CDs at 192KB/sec. My current unit is an iPod Touch (32GB), which does a bit more than the iPod Classic.
5th gen had the best DAC (Digital Analog Converter) out of every Apple device to this day. The sound amazingly clear. Just grabbed one from a thrift shop a few days ago. Honestly blown away with how great it sounds.
The iPod Classic does have a place as a car audio player that you can plug in and go. I used one like this for several years. As an alternative, you can still get refurbished 256 GB iPod touch 7th gens for under $300.
I just took my 6 gen out of the drawer and decided to mod so I could use it, only stoped because it started having problems with the HD, which now I fix it. I prefer using my iPod than Spotify to everyday cause I can put shuffle and it will only give me music I like, Spotify sometimes its just a bunch of things Ive never heard, and to listen to something new I prefer to take my time... also the battery in it could not be compared to an iPhone, so now I have my iPhone, iPod that ill put 1T memory plus more battery and a small point and shoot lol
I think the iPod Classic has the best design ever made by Apple. That device is gorgeous.

WHAT WOULD YOU TRADE FOR IT
I took My 120gb iPod Classic out after years being unused, it’s still alive, and now I’ve been listening to music with it for days. Battery is still very good. Great product
Best one is the 5.5 Gen because it was the last model with the Wolfson DAC . I still have one and I upgraded it with a 64GB SSD.
Those things can handle about a 1Tb but start ram crashing at one point so beware
Agreed, but luckily I can upload my music to the service I use. So I get the benefits of streaming, with all of the music I like.
I just upload all the songs from my iMac to my iPhone through iTunes. It’s pretty good and I don’t have to pay for anything, which is a plus.
Im using spotify and its just annoying how they constantly remove stuff for no obvious reason.
It’s yo music trash if it ain’t on there😂🤣
Jonathan Duhhh Sometimes people make remixes or original songs or covers. You can’t expect Apple to add everything, yknow.
still my go-to device. one connected to my sound system, one for travel, one connected to my car system, one just for toting around.
He mentioned it at 10:28
I heard its considered as 7th gen and i have it....
I had the iPod 5th Gen, the first one that could play video. It seems rather quaint now, but having actual video playback on an iPod back in 2005 really was a revelation. It was obviously a revelation that would result in the iPhone about two years later.
same here
I had one too, I loved it. It was my senior year of high school and I remember sitting in the back of class watching Napoleon Dynamite on the 2.5" screen.
No, the first iPhone that had video and video playback was the iPhone 3GS in 2009, over 4 years later. So yeah, it was revolutionary
@apao vergara Replace the battery and if you can afford it replace the hard drive with a solid state. My buddy upgraded his old iPod and now it runs great and has like 6 more hours of battery just because of the solid state.
ericsson gibson Steven said 'iPod', not 'iPhone' lol
Still have my iPod classic and I use it on a daily basis
Still got my 120 gig. It's been dropped, dunked, washed, and abused and I'll be damned if it isn't STILL kicking. Still use it as a hard drive for all my physical files and as a media input for a few TV shows and such. I love the little thing.
I love how something made In 2002 has more storage than my phone which came out in 2017.
EDIT: why does this comment have like 400 likes, it's not even good 🤷♂️

Someone Does your phone have a memory card slot?
I think the more impressive thing is they were using physical disks and not solid state memory in a form factor similar to a modern mobile phone. Though, if you only have 10GB storage in your phone from 2017 you should have paid the extra $50. Or, hopefully an sdcard slot.
Your phone storage is solid state however, plus I would wager much thinner than even the thinnest iPod Classic.
How’s it holding up and is it still good
I love this history explanation. It makes me remember those iPod amazing and wonderful days. I still keep my iPod Classic 6th generation model and a iPod touch 1st gen in 2019!, love em
Still running a 2009 Classic. Love it. Have to reboot and load up now and again. Sentimental value.
My dad has a 160 gb 6th gen model, and now he's out of storage. They should make a new iPod classic that works the same but has ssd storage and with even more
You can modify them and put an ssd in it, I have a 1tb drive in my classic running Rockbox
That sounds cool
Except nobody would buy it when you can do the same thing plus more on an iPhone
Rhino Thunder they did that that’s what it used to be before Apple Music dumbass
I’d just buy a high capacity smart phone: Samsung has expandable memory on the s8
I still use my 2007 80GB iPod classic every day
I use my 120GB last gen iPod Classic all the time too!
I purchased a iPod classic yesterday... haven't used it yet...but kinda played with it until my computer gets fixed....I have to reinstall and configure windows on my laptop
I still use my 160gb ipod classic 6th gen i also have my sister old ipod classic 6th gen 120gb model
Why though just use your phone
Offbrand Justin Y. Because streaming music doesn’t sound as good, and not to mention you have to always have an internet connection to listen to anything, while draining your phone battery and also having interruptions from text messages/ in coming calls/ notifications and what not, just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s better. The chips they used in these older iPods sound better than any iPod touch or any iPhone, these are facts, and that’s why these older iPods are sought after. And using these older iPods are not really any less convenient then streaming on your phone.
I could feel my heart skipping beats throughout this entire video. ~ Oh the nostalgia ~
Makes me want to go on eBay and buy one…. Just because. Well plus the fact that I never owned one - but nearly everyone I knew did and I enjoyed using them.
Me personally, I think if they made another updated iPod classic that's wi-fi compatible and made a component for e-books it would resurrect big time
These things are the best and they're pretty easy to flashmod so you can replace that hard drive with much bigger and much more reliable microSD cards. I've got 500gb in my old 6th gen and I don't have to worry about the hard drive failing every time I accedentially drop or bump it. Soooo good.
I remember the iPod Classic as A Kid. Since I Really Enjoy Listening Music and Playing 3 Games built-in.
Brilliant presentation. Bring back the Classic.
I adored my iPod Classic. It's what got me into Apple products. Today, in 2018, I have an iPhone X with Apple Music. Still a fantastic experience.
Just bought a Classic (technically video 5th gen) last week. Upgraded it to use sd cards. Great little machine.
Where did you get it? New old stock? How much? Nice!
Still enjoying my whole playlist on my iPod 4 touch 8 year of age! Battery lasts about a week on airplane mode
Always wanted one of these but I ended up getting an iPod Touch
I used to dream of having an iPod Touch...
Same here
I had a 4th generation iPod, an iPod mini, and an iPod touch. Out of all of them, I preferred my iPod touch. It’s more user friendly and has access to the Internet. To each his own, but I think your better off with what you got. Just my opinion. 😊
@@kelly3014 you also get Bluetooth after a certain generation. Good ol wireless headphones do ya good nowadays.
Yup, I ended up getting one as well back in the day. Still got my 1st gen iPod Touch still working fine minus some yellow tint to the screen now 12 years later..
Apple, PLEASE bring back the iPod Classic with updated chipset, updated power outlet & longer lasting battery !!!
Still rockin’ my Classic 160GB 7th gen. Awesome machine.
What files type(s) are you running, if I may ask?

There is no 160gb 6th gen ipod, the video is wrong. The 6th gen ipod classic has firmware limit of 128gb.
I bought an iPod video 5 today and I love it so much 🥰
I hate Apple, but god damn I loved the iPod Classic. I'm going to mod it with an M Sata SSD soon. With Rockbox, it's simply the best MP3 player ever made.
I'm exactly the same way.
Haha yes. I still have a 160 GB one.
I own an iPod Classic (2008 version) and its great!
The iPod classic is my favorite iPod.
the 2nd gen 20gb is the thiccest iPod of them all, we call it BIG CHUNGUS
I appreciate the efforts, you put into these videos!
It would only be a niche device though since an iPhone is a pretty great music player for the majority of people.
but not for us audiophiles
I remember having an iPod at one point. It was enjoyable to be able to put on a set of headphones and listen to music on my lunch break. I dont remember which specific model since it has been a while since I used it but it was enjoyable to have. Now I have my iPhone to listen to music, audiobooks, and movies.
Some of these special edition iPods are so ridiculous! HP, Harry Potter, what else? Haha.
The I pod classic was the best peice of tech I ever bought. It's a travesty they are no longer produced. I'd much rather have a separate dedicated device for listening to music than have it on my phone. Discontinuing it was a huge step backwards.
The iPhone made the iPod pointless and irrelevant.
I always liked all iPods. I hope (but dont think) they will renew at least 1 product of the iPod line.
Yay! A new video!
It's a really good device. I use it more at home now, but it used to be my car music thingy, for about a decade. The only reason it isn't now, is that I drive for work and the phone works better for music, phone calls, navigation, etc all in one device.
bought an ipod classic with 120gb for 80€ 2 months prior to being discontinued, still using it and the clickwheel is an awesome concept
The 5 1/2 th generation was the most aesthetically pleasing iPod in my opinion. I wish I could have one.
funny enough I just got one off eBay, add a new battery and an iFlash SD card unit and it's one hell of a device (but the 3rd gen and 1st/2nd gen are the most aesthetically pleasing) ;)
I have the last 120gb version and I loved it. If it was possible to get an offline spotify playlist on it I would definitely still use it.
What is the music you always have playing in the Background I really want to download it but don't know if it's on iTunes lol!
You forgot about the 20GB and 40GB models of the 3rd gen iPod.
BTW...it's a 5th Generation Classic Video iPod, 80GB.
After getting my first iPod and burning all my CDs to my computer, I thought I wouldn’t need my cds ever again, so I sold most of them. Then in a short period of time my iPad was stolen and my computer’s HD crashed and I literally lost everything. And that’s when I started buying CDs again, but now with Spotify, I don’t need them anymore 😂
the best iPod lineup ever
Well done nice job on this video thanks
i remember my friend bough her iPod in 2004 with 20 GB of storage during my high school year, everyone was amazed with her iPod because most MP3 player at that time only have 128 MB - 512 MB capacity, my MP3 player at that time only have 256 MB and i can store 15-20 songs on it.
I still use my iPod classic sometimes. I mostly use it for the old nostalgic music I have on it when I am having a nostalgic mood.
I use mine for my trips to and from work. My newly bought iPod touch is used on weekends most of the time.
Just want to listen to music and zone out, instead of looking at text messages or be interrupted by phone calls.
looking at getting one of these with a homepod dock to relive when i was little
The Classic came in black, too. I bought a black 160GB unit in Feb ‘08
iPod Classic as a new following with people modding them. Someone on Reddit was able to make a iPod classic bluetooth which is crazy!
I miss my iPod 160GB classic
There is no better way to navigate through your music while driving than the use of the click wheel.
the only thing you should navigate while driving is the fucking road
The first iPod I bought was a 3G (Red LEDS) with 15GB on tap. That one went to my old "significant other," since iPod Mini of the time had a sketchy reputation. I stumbled along with 4-16GB MP3 players from Sansa and Philips, until I found a 4G iPod (20GB) on eBay. I finally had a reason to use iTunes on the AlBook, ripping my CDs at 192KB/sec. My current unit is an iPod Touch (32GB), which does a bit more than the iPod Classic.
Wow your video-doc is like a time traveling portal ❤👏👏👏
For some reason i want the 5th gen. And then i saw gorillaz and i was like
*its calling for me*
Jade RUclipsr gorillaz is ass
5th gen had the best DAC (Digital Analog Converter) out of every Apple device to this day. The sound amazingly clear. Just grabbed one from a thrift shop a few days ago. Honestly blown away with how great it sounds.
btw Theres a Ipod Classic 7th Gen aka (6th classic
(2nd revision).. that brought back the 160 gig model in 2009, I happen to still have it
Yesss this is the one I was waiting for.
i loved the ipod classic, i had the 6.5 gen 120 gb and wow i missed it so much when it died
The iPod Classic does have a place as a car audio player that you can plug in and go. I used one like this for several years.
As an alternative, you can still get refurbished 256 GB iPod touch 7th gens for under $300.
Love it! Say ‘Now’ more though. Now. Now.
I wouldn't be without my 6th gen 160gb Classic. Sheer class 👌
