For those who are wondering since it isn't using the usual cherryMX variant, the hyperx red switches do have a slightly shorter actuation point and travel distance. cherry reds actuate at 2mm out of the total 4mm of travel distance hyperx reds actuate at 1.8mm out of the total 3.8mm of travel distance both have 45g of actuation force So it seems that the hyperx red switch is pretty much in between a cherry red and cherry silver switch. But since the actual difference is so small, you might not really notice too much of a difference other than having an easier time tapping higher bpm bursts and maybe even streams. If you try to switch back to cherry/gateron reds or blacks though, you might suddenly feel like you're tapping is slower than usual for a while. Just something to keep in mind if you're planning to experiment with other types of mechanical switches for osu!
Just gonna say that (atleast for me) the slightly shorter travel distance is very noticeable while playing osu. It takes some getting used to going from shorter travel distance to longer travel distance.
Bought this keyboard back in september, specifically the Alloy Origins TKL with reds. Its one of the best keyboards ive ever had it fits perfectly with my desk space .Im glad i switched to it, my old one was Razer Blackwidow ultimate from 2016 with Greens
Those switches are so incredibly smooth for some reason. A friend of mines has them, and they feel as smooth as my lubed gat yellows or my jelly blacks :P
Thanks for this review! I was considering the Core (TKL) one since it has a lot of positive reviews and I have little to no space on my table. Gonna be a great switch from my old keyboard!
I just want to mention that this is not whitecats keyboard. Whitecat has the european version which has normal cherry mx reds you on the other hand have the real "cheater" kb which also is used by Merami and Ryuk with hyperx reds which are the reason Ryuk says this keyboard is cheat. So technically your version has "better" reds and idk if other people feel the difference but for me who used like 30 different switch types would say hyperx reds are truely the best if you want to use reds
Ok umm... I got the keyboard just a few days ago... IT IS INSANE FOR OSU! dude that keyboard is the cheater keyboard bruh. I used to play with a Razer Blackwidow Overwatch edition

Only downside is that you cant switch the switches with any Pin-switch. So if you want different switches you gotta get yourself new laser ones. btw browns suck at everything and feel awful pls dont get browns

This may be a bit of strange (dumb?) question. But I'm new to this whole keyboard thing, and any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. In my native language (german), there are certain letters that don't exist in the common English alphabet (ä,ö,ü). Normally this isn't an issue, as I can just go with the widely used DE-QWERTZ layout Version, that is generally offered by most big tech companies. Unfortunately, this particular keyboard seems to only be available in the US-Layout. Luckily enough though HyperX does indeed sell matching keycaps, with the german characters that are so crucial to communicating properly for me. Now the big question. If I just put on the DE-Keycaps instead of the regular ones, will it be able to output all of the particular, non-english characters, or do I have to do any further modifiying, like reprogramming them (if so, how?), or is, what I'm trying to do futile in the first place? Once again sorry, if what I'm asking is very obvious or stupid, but as I already mentioned, I'm new to this, and couldn't find any clear answers through the means of googling. I would be thankful for any sort of advice!
