Josh Church; I've been looking for something all morning, new and different to listen to. Kept finding same old copycat groups until this popped up. As soon as I saw an ABBATH album it put an instant smile on my face and I knew I was in for a better day!! And of course the album is killer!!!
I ordered a vinyl record about a month in advance. 23. should be in the store. I'm looking forward to it, but I'll skip the stream, I'll wait for the vinyl. Great.

There are benefits and drawbacks to both mediums but I would have at least stuck around for a song or two and gotten the full experience later.
he's opted for a far less polished mixdown & master in favour of some good Celtic Frost grim and grimy saturation along with covering the highs with a reverb or room ambience, it works obviously. Really well-done job on the engineering as achieving a mix like this one truly begins whilst tracking and it only takes a few minor things to throw the whole tracks into either a muddy indistinct mess or sound tinny, harsh and fatigues a person's ears after 10 to 15 minutes, well-played gents as you got it spot-on just right in my extremely humble honest opinion FWIW. Needless to say, Abbath's ability to write quality tracks that work and flow as a full-length album really shines through and the final product/the production master I will bet my life on it sounding absolutely damn incredible through Maor Appelbaum's elite full-range reference monitors installed within his mastering house/studio!z \m/ Cheers \m/

The album is incredible. The riffs, drums, vocals and solos, not to mention the incredible cover of Trapped Under Ice. Looking forward to the release and for my CD to arrive 🤘🤘🤘

After a quick skip through as I’m waiting on my copy being delivered. It definitely appears that he’s getting better and more focused on each album! I’ve not even heard this all the way through and I’m already looking forward to hearing the next one! 🤘🤘🤘
I'm an audio/mixing/mastering engineer as well as a one man band now recording my own album (I've played guitar for 25 years, yes 25), and I LOVE the sound of this production. It is my and many of my brothers in metal opinion that many modern metal albums sound too bright, are over compressed, over-quantized, and way too over produced. It is interesting someone said this album sounded "over-produced" whereas others are saying its too flubby/warm for them. Everyone has different ears and preferences. I happen to love it. No amount of comments to the contrary will change my opinion either ;) it's like arguing with someone about what their favorite flavor of ice cream should be.
The production is garbage. There are no highs, mids or lows. It's all the same. Can't separate the bass from the kick. Pure mud. But, that's black metal.
I was so excited for this album, and I was not disappointed. Excellent music. The production is quite muddy/flubby for my liking but YT vids are never great quality audio, so the record should be much improved. 10/10 Abbath, great to have you back

Every Abbath release is a masterpiece. This is at least as good as any of the albums from his old band....How does he do it? Oh yeah, he's the legendary Abbath, that's how.
I always thought the previous 2 albums were average at most - if not clearly "meh" regarding the first one - but I am genuinely enjoying and digging this one. Abbath will never ever top "At The Heart Of Winter" songwriting wise, but in my eyes, he will always be one of the very few Metal Heroes of his generation.
