I thought I should probably put a warning on the video that it was kinda like welding without a shield when I get into the pool! I can't believe it took so long for someone to comment on my super tan. Leave it to dear 'ole Dad! 😂
My wife bought a used pool and deck a few years back. I left it in the barn for as long as I could but eventually, she made my put it up anyway. I knew NOTHING about swimming pools when I started but I've learned a lot about pool and deck construction since. Now I know all the stuff I want to do differently next time 🤣
Covering my pool last month... I almost forgot how much fun it was to put up. Not talking about steps 1 or 2... but it’s step 3 where the kids are in ankle deep freezing water, splashing, crawling and tuning up their Super Squirters that made the set up, daily maintenance and shut down worth every single minute. Ahhh, memories. Building them and reflecting on them are a delight!
You hit the nail on the head. The kids hitting the water with their pool floaties as it is just beginning to fill up gets me in the feels every time I re-watch this. The unbridled joy and excitement of your children is all the fuel a Dad needs to work on any project for them. It's the reason I like this video so much, even though it hasn't been that popular in the "view" department. Thanks for checking this out.
We have an Intex above ground pool 1485 gal. and I'm setting it up tomorrow as a matter of fact. The kids love it for sure. That's sure sweet of the fire dept. to come out and fill it up!
LMAO great video subscriber of the Captain lmao will be watching you closely as old and retired not that old lmao Enjoy your video's Have been watching for about 6 months enjoy the content
It is a good thing your daughers made a plan because I am sure you would still be trying to figure out where to begin this project if you didn't have this plan to guide you through it. And what a great use for this round slab. So much nicer than the fire wood chop and junk place it was before. Great team-work by everyone, Happy Summer.
Yeah, that work plan really kept me on track 😉 I'm just thankful that my daughters are willing and interested helpers. The concrete slab is much better suited for a pool than a grain bin in my opinion! Works great and we are enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
hey that's a sharp looking rig they have there! you are correct, i got excited when i saw it pull up. and man oh man, i've been there before chasing leaks in the pool. youre right though, all the work is worth it for the memories they are making.
Most definitely in it for the memories. I find the two little girls have Dad wrapped tighter and tighter around their finger as they get more and more full of ideas! But I wouldn't want it any different! I'm glad you had time to catch this video where I mentioned your channel cause it was shot nearly a week before your shout out to my channel. I still appreciate that gesture very much and thank you for watching. My fingers are still crossed for that lost camera of yours!
Ha! I didn't know the whole back story about the blueprint and the process of cleaning up the concrete slab. Turned out to be a really neat patio retreat. Glad to help make their day. Good Times!!!
You're still the hero of the story cousin Tony! Thanks for your contribution. I thought you'd enjoy seeing the girls' reaction when I told them you were bringing the water. So cool.
Morning neil it looks as through the kids had a great time them pools are handy things to have around thats what it is all about the kids having a great time.
We have had a pool since 1991,went thru 2 daughters and their friends , now 5 grandkids and their friends use it. , lots of good times had and more to come, Enjoy
I hope that is the case for this one too Phil. Seems to me like the kids don't care so much about whicch pool they're in just as long as they're in a pool. Good to know also that these 'ole pools can indeed have such a long life. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it.
Thanks so much! We have been making great use of that pool. I debated whether or not to even make this into a video so appreciate the kind words. As always thanks for watching!
Thanks Kory! Makes us wish for warmer times. This was a fun day this past summer and I always liked this video for whatever reason even though it is one of my lowest viewed. Thanks for checking it out!
Hey thanks a bunch Eric! I always liked this video and yeah, it's a little disappointing that it never did very well. Maybe I should change the thumbnail cause nobody wants to see my ugly mug on there! Thanks so much for the comment and like!
Did you use a heater of any kind on it? Building a pool for the kids next spring using an old grain bin and just finished some prefab…. I used 2 kegs and made a wood stove with full water jacket. I’ll be sure to post videos of it in the spring.
Glad to see you guys were doing things. So many people were paranoid 3 years ago. Not in my family. We were out boating hanging out. Trying to stay busy working on our natural immunity.
Too hot for RUclips! Yeah, I can get a pretty good farmers tan going and this was only May! Thanks for watching this one! It's one of my favorites but doesn't get too many views.
Brilliant, that's how kids should be, happy and laughing. And what a Fire Brigade, excellent crew, best of luck to those wonderful Fire Fighters. The kids just launch themselves into the pool while Neil edges as slow as possible into the frigid waters. Made me laugh :-) My god man, how white is that chest, you could see that from the Space Station :-)
Haha! I love it when someone comments on this video as it's one of my favorites. When the local airport loses power on their runway lights they call me in to stand out there with my shirt off and guide the planes in! 😂 Thanks for the great comment!
Wow, now I know where the term 'farmers tan' comes from! Well done, kids are happy.
Wow, that farmer's tan is unbelievable.
Oh yeah. Years in the making.
Childhood joy! ❤❤❤❤❤ it might be 3 years old,but wonderful to watch!
Thanks. This is one of my favorite videos.
Another fun video to watch. Only problem I had, was do I have to put my sunglasses on when you get into the pool? Boy what a glare. LOL!

I know more about those pools that I care to know!

Ha. Dad's cowboy tan. Sign of a man who works outdoors.

That's cool! Yeah, the beauty of these pools is just how much joy it can bring to kids. Thanks for watching and sharing. Take Care. Neil

What a great day with the family! You and Captain have my vote for fathers of the year LOL. Thanks for sharing Neil 😁
It was a great day! Amazing what dear 'ole Dad is willing to do for his girls! (Wouldn't have it any other way!) Appreciate you watching!
Lot's of fun great job love your videos thank you
Thanks Ed. You found one of my favorites!

Great video! Some good family fun there! And yes Kleeman would enjoy the fire truck! Good looking family you have! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! We have been making great use of that pool. I debated whether or not to even make this into a video so appreciate the kind words. As always thanks for watching!
Dayum son! I had to turn down the brightness and adjust the contrast on my monitor right about the 13:13 mark! Holy farmers tan brother!
Haha! Yeah, I keep the sunblock people in business! I'm almost translucent with my shirt off!
Love your content keep buying John Deere 755 attachments
I just watched this while its snowing and 1 degree🙂. My kids loved their pool growing up
Thanks Kory! Makes us wish for warmer times. This was a fun day this past summer and I always liked this video for whatever reason even though it is one of my lowest viewed. Thanks for checking it out!
Nice thumb work
Hey thanks Henry. I always love seeing a comment on this old video. It was one of my favorites of last summer!
"Step 3, fill the pool up. Then we're done!"
As a pool owner, I laughed at the innocent naivety, then I cried a little.
That's one of my favorite parts of any video! If only it were that simple!
How can this only have 60 likes (well, 61 now). Strong work, and good job involving the kids in the project!
Hey thanks a bunch Eric! I always liked this video and yeah, it's a little disappointing that it never did very well. Maybe I should change the thumbnail cause nobody wants to see my ugly mug on there! Thanks so much for the comment and like!

No heater other than the sun unfortunately 😉
Great job with clear instructions and customer help! Enjoy.
Thanks Mark. My enjoyment comes from watching the kids all enjoy it for sure. Appreciate you watching! Take care.

I should have put a disclaimer on this video that it requires sunglasses to view! 😋
