- Here's a fun episode from the 3rd (and final) season of “Action” and a tribute to the late Keith Allison and Tina Mason.
Keith Allison got his start here on WTAI and went on to join Paul Revere & the Raiders in 1968. Keith passed away on Nov. 17, 2021. (RIP) Keith sings “Lonely Weekends” at the end of this episode.
Tina Mason also got her start here on WTAI and met her future husband Phil “Fang” Volk from Paul Revere & the Raiders. Phil and Tina were married in 1967 and were still married when she passed away on June 21, 2021. (RIP)
Also featured here are the "Action Kids" - Mike Williams, Jerilyn Stapleton, Ted LePlatte, Lesley Evans, Pete Menefee, Jill Gordon, Roger Minami and Roberta Tennes
The 13th Floor Elevator performed “Your’re Gonna Miss Me” on this episode but I had to remove it due to copyright issues. Sorry. American Bandstand regulars Peggy Waggoner and June Strode can be seen sitting poolside as they performed. You can see that clip at the “Roky Erickson CD Club“ channel. Roky Erickson was one of the founding members and leader of The 13th Floor Elevator.
Thank you for watching! Видеоклипы
I watched this show every afternoon. It was a lot of fun.
Don’t you wish they had VCR’s back then @Steve3. It’d be so nice to see the original, clear video tape of these shows….and more of them.
Thanks, Aaron, for a fitting tribute to Keith Allison. May he Rest In Peace. Also R.I.P. for Billy Hensche of Dino, Desi & Billy who passed away on Sat. after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Sorry to hear about Billy Hinsche (RIP) . I always thought that Dino, Desi & Billy got a bad wrap. Sure they had pros playing instruments on their records and their was a “bit” of nepotism, but they were pretty good for their time.
There is no music like that 😕
@@YCDTI great music for time
Was he a stupid smoker like Frank Zappa was?
Sad to hear about Tina. I never heard about her passing. R.I.P. Tina
thanks for another fun and lively video of where the action is! all great artists and songs from back in the day. really enjoy getting a chance to see these shows that i have not seen before. every time i see these i want to step back in time and re live my youth again! thanks again!
I’ve had this episode in my video collection since the 80s
I purchased this mainly for the 13th elevators performance.
(Sadly missed here)
What a great episode, I’m watching it here again for millionth time.
The Raiders are always fab!
Lee Dorsey, a great singer and performer shakin’ up those white kids, priceless!
Thanks for the added information,
Filled some gaps for me.
Hoping I can see many more episodes of WTAI in the future!
My frist album I ever bought was the Raiders Greatest Hits, that was a long long time ago.
Thanks Aaron for the unexpected WTAI upload. As always your descriptor slays. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Hey Aaron! You must have read my mind tonight. I wanted to look at some old DC videos, so I went to your channel & lo & behold, you just put this one up! Thanks in advance for this & RIP to Keith. Ironic you put up a Raiders ep of AB just a few weeks back. Hope all is well with you man! Lemme enjoy this now...
Hey Kevin have a great Thanksgiving!
@dancer don HEY DON!!! Thanks & you do the same man, good to hear from you!
I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything on a Sunday night before. We must be on the same wavelength. 😉 Good to hear from you Kevin.
Thanks A Million Aaron ‼️ Great way to start the short work week. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 to you and your FAMILY and ALL who Subscribe to this site ❤️‼️
Thank you Annah Shoffner. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well.
Great to be young again. Thanks.
Hey Aaron, You through in a twist and it went great with my coffee. Enjoyed your write up too. I do remember the show , it wasn't on long but i liked it while it ran. Wishing your family and your Bandstandfan family a safe and best Thanksgiving ever...
Happy Thanksgiving Greg to you and your family!
Tina Mason would go on to marry Phil "Fang" Volk of Paul Revere And The Raiders, remaining married to him until her death.
Thank you sir
We need to see a full episode with Sandy Posey!
Good show.
Thanks, I enjoyed it.
IT IS VERY GOOD 👍💯💯💯💯💯.
Amazing thank you so much for posting. I remember this series from childhood when our family arrived back in the US after my father’s five year military assignment in Japan.
mesmerizing
Hi and another great find today. That YT channel you were talking about is that it is Roky Erickson's channel, guitarist and vocalist for 13th Floor Elevators. That is probably why that video is allowed to stay on there as it is his channel and creator. Also for those scoring, the best view of Peggy is about :48 on that video and best view of June can be seen at 2:01. Thanks again and everyone have a safe Thanksgiving holiday!
Ah, that explains it. He probably owns the rights to the song. Didn’t even consider that.
Good catch on finding June and Peggy. June is pretty easy to see, but you really have to look for Peggy. Thanks Bill.
I loved this show...it died too soon. I'd come home every afternoon from High School and have to watch it. For a teenager, I was madly in love with Leslie Evans (Action Kid)....she was just THE perfect woman with the sexiest hairstyle....wonder where she is today?
Wish like they do with TV shows, somebody would make a video of "where they are today" for the Action Kids
Hello i love all of your Where the Action Is , videos. Do you have the episode with “ The Critters”. Mr.Dyingly Sad???
The introduction was one of the few times that Dick Clark appeared on-camera during "Where The Action Is".
Most of the time, he introduced segments off camera, usually in an editing room.
Use to watch it after school
❤
RIP Keith Allison 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 not sure why people are lip syncing other groups recordings it’s kinda strange
Wasn't that first song the Dave Clark 5's?
actually Bobby Day
SO cute❤️
many of the paul rever songs on this show were never released on cd .or anything ..
The 13th Floor Elevators mentioned in this show would change their name to The Grass Roots and go on to be one of the most successful singing I groups of the late 1960's, with numerous hits.
Nope, not true. They were known as The 13th Floor and were from Los Angeles. The 13th Floor Elevators were from Austin Texas.
Raiders did a great cover of Dave Clark fives song over and over
What happened to Linda Scott?? 🇫🇷. Arnuad Bourbon Amaral
I think the 13th Floor Elevators were the Grass Roots.
I don't think they went to London to personally talk to The Beatles
They filmed some segments in London in season 2 and probably were trying to get the Beatles (good luck in ‘66), but you are correct. They never did.
@@YCDTI There was an interview with THE WHO a month earlier for WTAI by Chris Stamp
