  • We set out to fish one of my favourite creeks to fish in. It has Mangrove Jack, Estuary Cod, Barramundi and Giant Trevally.
This was filmed in September before closed season but due to scheduling I decided to wait on posting.

Great vid as usual mate. Some other guys vids can become boring as bat shit, just reeling in fish. But you explain what your going for and the technique needed, and gear. Top stuff👍

Only tip I can give for barra is slow down your motion. They lazy buggers most of the time. Keep your same twitch or movements that you usually use, but just do it slower.

Yeah i have picked up jacks like faster then barra. For their size they certainly as pesky things

One of the creeks down my way has a nice population of Barra in the 50-90cm range as average and a few 1m+ in the mix...at night all you see is water spray and bait scatter then hear the BOOF!!!!..they skittish as to get the hooks in em but main success has been 6 inch body profile and surface/sub surface swim actions..Ive thrown similar hard body's as diver action or sinking and plastics 6inch etc..but they don't want a bar of it...soon as same profile but surface or just below..get Bow wave follows, swipe n turns and solid hook ups lol it's weird...one mate who's only a few of the people who know this creek let alone know it's full of Barra uses nothing but fly rod and 6 inch long flys he ties himself for hunting Jew
