- The snowstorms are back!! In todays video we redo parts of our cabin on a very STORMY day. I have gotten some new things shipped from the mainland in order to completely redo my office as well as update some other areas in the cabin. I hope you enjoy this video! @@davidw.patton9013 hello! I live in Michigan but will be moving soon to South Carolina where temps rarely drop below 40F! I do the ice cold tub dips for my brain a couple of times a week. Cold exposure is great for the brain but not necessary to live in it! lol!

She is SO Swedish - my mom and grandfather were similarly huge coffee drinkers. Sadly, I got my father's inability to drink more than one cup of coffee per day, but my husband who is 1/2 Swedish can definitely put it down the hatch!

Just putting together IKEA furniture has to be a true test of a relationship. And that all the pieces and bolts were all in the box is amazing. Kristofer is incredibly patient and so capable. Just love him to bits. The office looks bright and it is so inspirational to look out the windows to that view.
I don’t think it’s that hard! I make mine, as do my daughters, they’ve been helping since they were young and just make their own now. It’s pretty logical if you lay it out first in an orderly manner.
I admire anyone who can do that. Just looking at it stresses me out. I'd be hiding in the corner, whimpering. LOL!
@@Yesica1993 😂 it really is a case of being methodical. Laying out pieces, checking all the bags against the (not always great) pictures and working bit by bit
@@traceybartlam7737 I SHOULD be able to do it, personality-wise. I am very logical and orderly and detail minded. Maybe I could. Never actually tried it. Maybe I can start with something small/simple, like a 3 legged stool or something. It would be hard for even me to screw that up. LOL!
Ikea has a lot of nice things, but I do not like the instructions, it is only pictures and no words which is kind of frustrating at times.

Christoffer is SUCH a good sport about hauling all your things from the harbor and then into the house and helping switch things around and assemble all your new treasures! What a wonderful man he is! He made a silly remark about what a lovely summer day. (Of course the weather has to be absolutely miserable on a day when you’re trying to get things done!) I see much of my own Swedish heritage (25%) in a lot of your need to have a good “vibe” with soft rugs and calm colors. I live in northern Minnesota and it’s getting darker and darker now and I LOVE it! We will never have a full on polar night, but we will get awfully close!
I’m from South Africa 🇿🇦 and no kidding, when it is 16 degrees (Celsius) here, we get cold and people dress with thick clothing. I can’t even imagine the cold in these videos! But yet I enjoy watching and imagine visiting there one day. I might need to expose myself to cold therapy before doing so but it is beautiful! ❤
Cecelia, you absolutely glow, and Kristoffer is the calm in a storm. He is a treasure. Remember to love and appreciate each other every day, because life passes in the blink of an eye. Watching your videos reminds me that love and kindness still exist in this world that can be harsh.

You have an innate sense on showing the beauty of your environment, plus you have a very calming influence sprinkled with moments of joy, at least that is how I see it. I am so obsessed with that Ikea storage cabinet!!! It's such a perfect marriage of the open "modern" cube storage and drawers for the more... unsightly/unruly objects. I need!!!
Ps - I'm glad I'm not the only person with my office space being with my exercise equipment haha dual purpose rooms are the best!!
White, off-white, cream, natural, beige colors are the best in ANY space. Black, gray, all the dark colors make the house look depressing and crazy.

I worked for IKEA for a short bit and have to admit trying to say the names of the products was not the easiest thing to come off my lips, lol, but I loved putting in the effort to learn. One thing I did learn is, even though IKEA is one of the most cost effective and accessible furniture companies in the world, their stuff is also built to take a beating. I love their stuff. I furnished an entire apartment in IKEA furniture, and I still have some of the pieces to this day 6 years later. One day I’m going to learn Swedish just so I can pronounce those words, lol. Keep up the videos, I love watching your life in that frozen world of Svalbard, you’ve made me really enjoy the dark and winter like I never thought possible, so thank you very much for that.
CECILIA... that was better than therapy. My favorite kind of episode. Weather, Grim, Packages, Silliness, Reorganizing... add on lighting the wood stove and making coffee and I think I would try to jump through the screen. Thank you for sharing with us!! IKEA is an hour from my house - seeing this video makes me grateful that it’s so close! The office looks awesome! As a Cali (California) girl, I could never put anything above my head due to earthquakes. I love everything you did! ❤. That view of the sun is breath taking!
❄️Cecilia and Christofer, watching you haul your house goods through the snow reminded me of my Minnesota grandmother who grew up in a sod house on the prairie and everything was hauled with horses and sleds. We love the snow in Minnesota! Ice fishing. Driving cars on the frozen lake ice. Winter festivals and Ice Palaces. So much to do. I could never live there, you two are so brave and patient. I ordered something from IKEA, came after 2 days and delivered to the door + delivery was 24.99. Think we take so many things for granted after seeing how you guys have it.

That is exactly the desk setup I’ve had for the last 3 yrs - standing height desk with a tall stool, both adjustable. It’s the best of all worlds! Live that there’s a market for all to make use of things folks no longer need. ❤

I loved where you moved your desk! As someone that also recently reorganized my office, I was screaming internally that you should move it there because you would love being able to look out that window during the day! I have a similar setup and it makes a big difference in my day.
I bet someone was really excited to get your old desk! Even if it's been used a few years, it's still much much cheaper than buying a new one and paying for it to be shipped. Love that everything gets lots of uses instead of tossed away.

It must be so fabulous to wake up to that view in the crisp, cold air and to enjoy a coffee outside while Grim has a gambol in the snow. The new set-up looks so much airier and brighter, I also feel more productive when I have a working space that I enjoy spending time in, it really does make a huge difference.
