This guy is really down to earth. He makes a lot of sense. No fancy terms or arrogance. I love him
So:
1) know yourself ( you have to go to 2 to do that) what you are good at or like.
2) get experience with different trade strategies
3) polish the trade strategy you picked
4) trade your strategy not your emotion

I've been listening to your interviews for quite some time. For me, this is the one interview where you have someone who's mastered his craft, while doing so learned to remain humble and has so much to share with new traders. I was watching this on my TV, then I opened my laptop and started taking notes into my journal and playbook. Thank you!
I love it for so many reasons:
1) He didn't keep saying nonsense about how it's too much risk/everyone loses. So so sick of hearing this left right and center, that I don't even talk to new people at the moment - sick of people telling me I am going to lose money, without asking what I even do! I mean, all jobs have risk
2) I have a similar trajectory where I knew the terminology and followed how the market reacted to politics etc. for years, so it wasn't a huge leap. Not every trading story is a dramatic risk-taking adventure, like the media makes it sound like
3) He talks about it like a regular job
4) He has a theme of doing less. This was a huge one for me that made me profitably consistently. I was brainwashed to do more, always be active, but kept losing money in the afternoons when the market would basically freeze up on low volume many days. It's a constant struggle to do less. Make money and walk away. Don't then think "maybe I can make more" or "I want to do it again" or "it's so early, something else is bound to happen today!"
Great interview with a mean reversion stock trader. Some of what I liked: “I don’t trade my opinions, I trade set ups. … you have mental capital and financial capital and they’re equally important … it’s not what you make, it’s what you keep”
This gentleman shows that many years of “Productive Experience” is hard to beat.

Feeling very disappointed. Lost more than $5000 on live trade, not realizing it would be different from demo trade where I was making money.

This is valuable beyond belief. For those who have traded a while and can understand the deeper concepts…. It always comes back to the same thing with these big time guys. Have YOUR setups and seek out those setups. Spend the time (hours and hours) learning about those setups and the nuances of those setups. Trust me, it will save you years and pain of trying to always learn something new.

This guy really is authentic. I have been through everything that Scott mentioned before i became profitable and he breaks it down so well. *Anybody still learning should really really take notes from this* because THIS is exactly what you need to hear. "your job is to extract money from the market" we had this discussion. i see you out there Scott! we met in Fort Lauderdale and i was going into my 2nd yr in trading. and the more you trade the more you put hours the market humbles you. this now speaks more truth than anything. i know understand what i need to work on to get through each stage i learn. im still out here Scott doing my best everyday , hope to meet you another day so we could discuss more :)

i love this guys style of trading, takes advantage of emotion.. He was describing me when I first started.. Id see hugely gapped up ticker and buy at the open on the popp, then just get rekt as it fell minutes later.. This is the guy on the other end shorting those pops and profiting off those inexperienced buyers like me at that time.
Something you see a lot with really successful traders who are in the game for such a long time. They are not only humble but also very willing to give something back to the newer traders to help them improve. Once I break through to the other side I hope I am also able give something back and provide such value to newer traders. Thanks for sharing this and thanks for all the knowledge. 🙏
Watched your latest video and then seen this one and when he said, "I don't care if I'm wrong or I'm right, I just don't want to lose that kind of money."... Really hit a cord with me that I think has still been causing me to hesitate. I think all this time I've have been telling myself I've scaled down but I'm still not taking trades that I should... Truthfully, I still need to scale back more. Not what I and I assume others want to accept because we do want to make money. But we're not going to make money at all, if we are to wound up in fear to execute. Or enter too late and miss the meat of the move, or worse, you hesitate so long to execute, it reverses on you.
Key 🔑 “You don’t have to be a smart person, you need to know how to execute your plan.” Executing your plan is “doing” something smart…. It’s a big difference.

Watching professional trading videos and most especially connecting with the right person the digital world is full of in unreal people I met some of them during my success journey. I felt same way when I started especially when you use demo account you might be winning but when you put in real money you start losing I understand and I pass through it all. I’m very happy I’m profitable now.

"Somedays you know what do to right away because the set up is there, other days you have to let it develop" That's a hugeeee piece for me. Sometimes I'm right on and it seems too easy, then other days I expect it to be that way so I try to make that happen and it works against me. Need to develop that mentality of only trading when I'm seeing good set ups.
It's discipline. You gotta be a machine and let go of both the agony of defeat as well as the thrill of victory.

This is why I like to trade with a lower win rate and higher risk to reward. I win consistency. And I have consistent losses as well. However my wins are consistently larger than my losses. Just what works for me.

This guy is very smart as someone who is becoming very good at trading everything he said is true. Screen time is the #1 thing you need. Do market replay lots and lots of it build conviction watch how price keeps repeating and you will grow 100x faster then the person who only watches every mourning. Practice Practice Practice I can say it enough.
I really liked this interview. The similarities between Scott and I are eerie.... 1st name, both started as stock brokers, both about the same age, and both traded a similar amount of time. Very cool guy - enjoyed it! The hunter analogy was on point!
