    This is a great explanation (Cushion's). This is the first time I got any answers as to why my face was swollen, weight gain, and the hump. I've been on thyroid medicine for almost two years but still haven't lost any weight, swelling, and hump is still there.

    Much easier to understand what's happening now with my neck. I'm almost 70. My horse riding lessons have helped my neck by my coach letting me know when my posture is incorrect..I'll look for your future videos. Thank you.

      Yes it is, Brad. Although with increased awareness and a few simple behavior modifications, it doesn't have to be this way. And... we can still take advantage of and enjoy the amazing benefits of technology!

    It took 2 years, but I went from significant forward head posture with an obvious neck hump; to my ears aligning with my shoulders and no bump at all!
    If you're insecure about your posture and dedicated enough to put in daily effort, it's absolutely possible. Don't give up!

    It’s no coincidence that the head restraints on new cars, push your head so far forward… Or airplane seats… Or recliners… All have thick pads that push your head forward. This was never the case just a few decades ago.

    I had to have x-rays on my neck. Nurse goes wow that is the biggest widows hump she ever seen. I was in my early 50’s at the time. When I was in my 30’s I had neck X-rays neurologist said my neck was straight and it should have a curve in it.(nothing was done) I am 64 now when I sit my head wants to go forward so uncomfortable. I was always big with a big belly. I lost weight over 40 lbs still have the hump along with with the belly.
    My daughter has the hump on the back of her neck, she is also a big lady. I would love to find something to help her get rid of that hump. I also had a older sister that had the same hump on the back of her neck (has passed on now)
    We always thought it was inherited.
    Are there questions a person can the family doc or treatments or test we can ask for?

      Great question, Theresa! In cases where the neck hump is the result of a forward head position (loss of the normal curve in the neck), the best solution is to restore the curve and rehabilitate the surrounding tissues.     Definitely the best video explaining different types of neck bumps. I have a Dowager’s Hump from 10 Compression Fractures. Will you be doing a video on how to treat Dowager’s Hump due to compression fx’s?

    I have a forward head position with very little neck and shoulder discomfort. X-rays show that I have bone spurs. I have exercises from a physical therapist, which I do religiously, but when I don't consciously think about my posture - especially when reading or using an electronic device - I lapse back into forward head position. Also, if I hold myself in good posture for a certain time, it tires my neck. I have arthritis in my knees and hips, again without much pain at all (due, I think, to diet and exercise), but feel that this affects my posture as well. Help?

      @jltnelson - I am happy to hear that you're not in pain. Our posture is regulated and maintained at the subconscious level and because of this, any postural interventions that are dependent on conscious awareness are ultimately doomed to fail. We are simply not designed to have to think about maintaining proper posture all hours of the day and at some point, it becomes necessary to think about other things.       @@painfixprotocol Well, that makes sense! However, I didn't see any mention of bone spurs as a cause of poor posture (though that's obviously the case with me). Are the protocols to help in this case the same? I look forward to following your videos.

      @@jltnelson You actually have that in reverse. The degeneration (bone spurs, in this case) are a result of the alterations in structure (posture) and function. You are correct about the second part. The solutions is the restoration of normal structure and function.

      Yes! Some causes of "Neck Hump" are much more amenable to treatment than others.
