Depends how hard you're willing to drive yours. I just bought one and can say that they are a lot faster than you would expect the stock engine from a 2003 Corolla to be. But to get any real speed out of them you do gotta go a wee bit hard on your transmission and keep the revs high for that VVTi. It's a good thing Toyota is known to overbuild their vehicles. Hope I can scrape the $5k together to do the 2ZZ + 6MT swap.
@@LupinYonderboy im thinking about it. The question is do i want to put $10k into my MR2 (2003, 93k miles) or just trade it in for a civic? I would be swapping a 2zz woth similar mileage and installing a carbon fiber t top, maybe a carbon fiber duckbill or something if it made a good difference. Plus some coilovers eventually

I own one, and even the stock brakes are fantastic. I was once (unknowingly) entering a hairpin at 45 mph, realized right at the last second that the road turned, jammed on the brakes, and managed to get the car turned about an inch before the left front touched the dirt on the outside.
Yeah stock 1zz, gutted precat and straight piped with malian muffler (not recommend), KN panel for engine.
