Since we have all decided that Selmar needs to stay forever, I think he should help you should convert some space into a shop so visitors can stop by and buy all things french, including wines, baguettes, cheeses, garden items, Selmar's wooden creations, books, art, decor...it would be splendid and generate more income. 300books Je ne sais pas. I don’t think I’m directly related, but you never know. I’ve tried to trace my ancestry, but haven’t got very far since my paternal grandfather got the LaLande name from his mother. The trail ends there, but there is a chance I’m related to a certain LaLande clan from the Quebec area. If I’m related to them, I can trace that family back to a LaLande family in 1026 in Paris.

that's one of my favourite videos so far.Thank you Stephanie and your intrepid videographers! You asked for suggestions. Well I would love to see an art studio and workshop space in there (being an artist) Perhaps the wood hanger or upstairs from? I would be an amazing multi-purpose arts space. Art studio, come theatre, come gallery! It could even host great rustic medieval feasts! Imagine that (more more important then storing wood! ;) ) I would love to see you retaining/creating some of the diverse functions the spaces towards more self-sufficancy too. Imagine a wonderful artist colony and community being around that courtyard! :) I have so many ideas... oh also I would love the little rose room near the pizza oven please! Xx
I love your idea of making the oven room larger for pizza parties or any unique dinner events cooked in the walled oven. I can really see your vision for this to be a special area for you & your guests.
The peek inside the Chateau's outbuildings was amazing. Much like a rabbit warren of room after room in various states of disrepair and stack upon stack of building materials to be repurposed in years to come. How I would have loved to have seen the chateau some centuries ago to gaze in wonder at the newly completed outbuildings. Glorious it must have been.
I’m with you, Stephanie . Here is an idea! Open the bread oven room wall with a wide door and a barn door on rails to close as required. Loved the tour and the old treasures from around the estate. Also, perhaps all the treasures, architectural design bits should be stored all in one place so they can be photographed and catalogued for future use. Will help loads in your design process. Love. Love the grey and blue floor tiles.
With respect, such a bread oven is reliant on the ambient atmosphere ie. air flow, humidity, temperature etc.... I wouldn't touch that room with a barge pole, the folk of days past built such ovens with eons of experience. (PS. I am speaking as a Master Baker and Confectioner of 45 yrs experience +).
Love the idea of one place for the architectural design bits and being photographed and catalogued!! That would be so great, and it would almost be like museum storage.
Ah the Room of Doom. You seem to be making so much progress recently, in the garden, bedrooms, Nick’s apartment, chapel. I am glad that the patreon is working for you and looking forward to seeing the lake revived. 🇦🇺 I wonder if the room with the fountain was the dairy, for cheese making etc?
I saved this video for my bedtime treat! This is exactly what I was so wanting to see. All the rooms in their natural state where the nitty gritty of running the chateau took place. I don't know why I find these places more fascinating than the finished rooms lived in by the wealthy people who built the chateau but I do. To be able to go back in time and see the working estate and speak to those who lived there and worked it would be magical. How many servants must it have taken?

Stephanie, you remind me of my older sister. Along with my younger sister we talked endlessly about opening a little shop where my younger sister would offer her paintings, I would offer my sewing wares and my older sister would come up with the ideas. The shoppe name was to be "The Sisters Three." The dream died when my older sister pass away from a long illness. But I can visualize the dream every time I watch your vlog. Thank you.
I can well imagine that you will reach all of your goals, one by one, and that the community that becomes will be joyous, harmonious, and creative, as are you and your family and friends (including the wonderful Selmar and the other workaways). I love it all!

Stephanie you are a vision in blue today! Your gorgeous enthusiasm, vivacity & positivity are an inspiration. I hope to see all your dreams, for your beautiful home, come true. Could you use your father's fountain in the Moon garden perhaps? Selmar is such a wonderful handyman! & Mummy you are adorable xx
The amount of rooms in the chateau is astounding. I can't imagine the time, effort and man-power that would have gone into building it originally. Great to see all the nooks and crannies!
Every time I watch your videos I am immediately inspired to view my little apartment differently! In fact I now consider my apartment complex (6 units) as a chateau, and my space as beautiful nook in the building. I hop up during, and after, watching and go about changing and beautifying and it's thanks to you
What a wonder LaLande is! Those outbuildings are wonderful spaces! You may want to keep in mind though as you move something out, say the roosters, it will need a new home! You'll need a new chicken coop and a woodshed, for example. You may want to keep some space for a garage and a workshop. And don't forget, imho every house needs a "junk room," whether an attic, basement, garage or somewhere to store *stuff* (seasonal decorations, odd bits for the house/chateau).
I love seeing these videos around Lalande! It's a TON of work but you seem to enjoy the journey-which is important, as it is a definite work in progress to restore and make use of all of Lalande. Your care and attention to detail in your renovations is very evident. And you show great artistry in your decor and fabric choices. You have a very good eye for design and Lalande can only benefit from your care. I only recently discovered your channel and I'm glad to be a part if your journey 😄
Just in case Selmar wants to visit South West of Scotland, he's welcome in our garden. I would love to learn so many skills from him. Always nice to see your videos, they are just so inspiring.
Could you do a video on what exactly you're working on now in the Chateau and what's the next project after that. It's nice to see a timeline of work that's going on, it brings everything together and makes me look forward to your videos.
I love it, too, although I would worry that there might be a danger of fire damaging the space if there were any unfortunate mishap with the candles....oh dear, oh dear, I do hope that would not happen!
It's so hard to decide, but I think your series of Lalande tours are my favourite Stephanie! Your enthusiasm and vision are so beautiful and I love going on the journey with you :)
Hi to you all at the Chateau. Although I enjoy viewing the interior of the Chateau, l prefer the original barns & stable areas that you are sharing at the moment. I know that you wish to convert them all to living area’s but it would be lovely to keep a storage space with the exposed beams to the roof. As you said it could be for the garden mowers also for the firewood & cars. This would give a glimpse into the past skills & the craftsmanship that went into the construction of your magnificent Chateau. I also love the progress you’re making in the vegetable garden. I hope Percy returns soon when this bug has gone.

All I can think about in lockdown is coming to live in France. Preferably near LaLande.! The outbuildings would make fabulous apartments. I would love to live in one of them. You have created a paradise!

You and your Mummy are adorable. I particularly enjoy the faces she makes when you share a grand plan!
Thank you for making the effort to put out these vlogs, we really appreciate them xx
I just love waking up, making a coffee and watching the latest of these. Thank you Stephanie so much.
Every time I watch your videos I am immediately inspired to view my little apartment differently! In fact I now consider my apartment complex (6 units) as a chateau, and my space as beautiful nook in the building. I hop up during, and after, watching and go about changing and beautifying and it's thanks to you
Selmar is wonderful!!!!! Keep him for life!
Like lock him up or sth? 🤣
J'adore, j'adore, j'adore!!! I think I love the outbuildings even more than the main chateau! The full height ceilings with open beams are superb!
THANK YOU, ❗️ OH THE DREAMS❣️ OH THE HISTORY ❣️ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS, BUT IT IS OVERWHELMING AND THE BEST PART IS THAT YOU ARE STILL SMILING ❤️
Yeah! We are cheering Scotman will be living at the Chateau one day!! Loved the blog.
I absolutely love this vlog. Thank you Stephanie! Your vision for the chateau is just spectacular. Hugs😊
Just in case Selmar wants to visit South West of Scotland, he's welcome in our garden. I would love to learn so many skills from him. Always nice to see your videos, they are just so inspiring.
Love, love, love it! May God bless you with everything you need and then some to restore this beautiful historic Chateau.
Keep the tours coming! Love getting to know Lalande's secrets!
So many amazing spaces to bring to life as rooms. Wow, what a glorious Chateau it will be! I vote for the candlelit pizza room! 😊
Could you do a video on what exactly you're working on now in the Chateau and what's the next project after that. It's nice to see a timeline of work that's going on, it brings everything together and makes me look forward to your videos.
It is not in a state at all! It is amazing and so interesting. I love seeing it all. Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE the pizza room with candles!! That is such a great space. 🥰
I love it, too, although I would worry that there might be a danger of fire damaging the space if there were any unfortunate mishap with the candles....oh dear, oh dear, I do hope that would not happen!
@@saraheschweiler4939, don't worry, be happy. 😊
I have never seen someone so beautiful rootling around in somewhere sooooo dusty! You are magnificent 😘 and so is Mummy
It's so hard to decide, but I think your series of Lalande tours are my favourite Stephanie! Your enthusiasm and vision are so beautiful and I love going on the journey with you :)
so many videos! i love it! i hope this channel blows up, eventhough i will miss the privacy and flair a smaller channel has.
I hope Percy returns soon when this bug has gone.
your persian item is beautiful🌹🌹and I an from Persia... I enjoy your interesting videos full of positive energy... I hope I spend one holiday in your place with lots of stories🌹🎈🎈
What a treat. Thanks for being so generous with your time ⭐️🌸💙☀️🍷💕🌙👋
All I can think about in lockdown is coming to live in France. Preferably near LaLande.! The outbuildings would make fabulous apartments. I would love to live in one of them. You have created a paradise!
I love getting to see closer looks at different parts of the chateau! I'm so glad you ladies didn't walk across those beams. It's absolutely better to be safe than finding yourself incredibly hurt. 😨 I'm so hooked on your videos... looking forward to watching more of your current garden projects 😁🌱
The more videos I watch the more I want to live in a chateau (even one that is 'in progress', lol). Thank you for sharing your ideas, inspiration, and the fun that is had at the chateau
everything has come along so well! its wonderful to see the space before all the new renovations.
Stephanie, I am so impressed with the stealth way you get around the outbuildings in your nice clothing and heels...wow!
The Chateau is so BIG!! It's like there is always new room, i understand why you said it's going to take my entire life to restore it lol So much possibilities and fun to watch! I hope i will see the Chateau completely restored one day :)
Those French pitchers in the window!

It's so beautiful, I would love to live there
Wow you do have an amazing collection of buildings with plenty of scope for renovation. It's good you keep old items just waiting for a future use.
Adore yu all so much truly 💐💞🥂

I find my self smiling with such content in my heart, 😍
I dream I'm there with yu
As your sharing your wonderful visualization for each room,
