Good job calling this figure out for being overpriced. Ace comes with so much more for the same price. With Pain they couldn't add another face plate and a rod?? (While Pain doesn’t show emotions surely a 4th face would have been more than possible to have). For too long I have felt that only Anthony Customs (I'm sure there are more) actually "critiqued" the figures while everyone else would gush about them. At that point I don’t really need the reviewer's opinions because they will inevitably be the same regardless of the figure. Giving reasons for not liking something is not "hating", it is only logical to do so. The community needs more voices that are willing to criticise something. Companies donot do us any favour by selling us figures, we need to stop pretending that the relationship is anything but transactional. The funny thing is I would have probably gotten this figure even still but Bandai has made sure that this is not just overpriced but also inaccessible thanks to the exclusivity. Well done Bandai👏👏👏

Also, $150 (given that sellers will bump up the retail price for exclusives+shipping and improve duties) for this, when it's not even the aftermarket and I'm buying it on release? Maybe I don't know about better options (I am not a hardcore collector) but if the customer has to really seek out options, maybe some of the fault is on the company too?
The problem is Bandai released him as an exclusive for God knows what reason. This should have been a regular because he costs the same as Itachi, every store charged more because they have to get the exclusives with their own money. This as a regular and battle damaged as an exclusive would have made way more sense. I agree they could have included a couple more rods and more faces with his eyes looking to the side even if they were the same. I had to cancel mine to give priority to Ace, which also costs 9000 yens and comes with a lot of cool stuff. I hope I can get Pain later but right now I'm kind of mad at Bandai for pulling a Hasbro with this release.
I remember a time when battle damage figures were just a regular release such as SSJ Awakened Goku and SSJ 2 Gohan, but now you'll be lucky to get anything like that anymore from Tamashii.

P-bandai is brutal more often than not. As a retail figure this would have been great, I'd even have gone and picked it up after this. But its not premium and its not worth the extra price. I liked this Pain a lot but we wont get any of the others and tbh, I'd want to get replacement, imagine one with an embedded magnet clasp, and all that on top of the price really kills my enthusiasm.
So if an akatsuki member is announced and its narutop 99 should i still get it or wait for a regular release cuz i feel like im missing out on getting that itachi
Yes absolutely. The only aesthetic difference is the colour of the clothes under the robes (blue ones turning into black ones) which isn't even a mild problem. Itachis's clothes being black doesn't look odd next to Pain's blue whatsoever (we don't even see his shirt in canon). The only ones that could matter slightly are the konoha jonin who wear uniforms (which logically should share the look).
Honestly if they wanted to make him worth it they should have given him another hairpiece for when his headband is off, more hands for the Chibaku tensei, and maybe a shirtless torso to give display option The main reason I bought this is 1 I like the character and the Naruto line is the best line they got so far.
My buddy got me this as a gift while he was ordering Ace and Sabo for himself, I think he's absolutely worth the price, I had him on preorder the whole time up until finding out about the gift. But, Pain is my favorite villain in the series so I'm certainly biased. I do wish his costume under the cloak was more interesting.
I feel like he should have been shirtless for anime accuracy because he was in the anime when he fought Naruto. Also, he should have come with a wind effect piece or some Naruto face plates to match its value.

Its sad as a dragon all fan seeing other figures because they put way more work into one piece, bleach, naruto, ect. The only animes I like are dragonball and HxH so it sucks.
