There are multiple new things: - New sounds and character models - New dialogue (since Isaac will actually talk this time) - New additions to the story - for example Isaacs search for Nicole will play a bigger role. - More realistic damage Models for the enemies (you have to actually hit the same spots on a limb multiple Times to cut it off) - New Locations Like you see in the Trailer, especially in terms of Zero-G Levels. - Also as you can see, you can now fly in Zero-G like in Dead Space 2 and 3 instead of jumping between surfaces like in the original. Hearing Gunner Wright behind Issac again just feels right. I am so happy to see him back in the role. I dont care if remakes are happening way too often in this console generation, this was a game that was amazing in the 7th generation and imo deserved to come back for both new and old players.
No, if anything, we need more older games remade. There's only so many times you can reinvent the wheel, sometimes you should just take what you had and improve upon it instead of making something entirely different. I mean, look how FF7 turned out.
Dead Space is a genuine horror game and a genuine pleasure to play/watch walkthroughs for. To this day I can't play any of them in the dark with noise cancelling headphones on again.
@@monsesh1316 To be honest DS while scary, isn't what I'd call a true horror game. It's more spectacle. In film you can have IT or The Exorcist. IT is scary because of jump scares, The Exorcist is more cerebral, and atompospheric. Dead Space was always a blockbuster action game with a horror theme. So when 2 went out they leaned towards that aspect a little more and it worked because it still felt like dead space 1. 3 went all in the action, turning it from a horror game to a straight up cover/3rd person shooter. This is why alot of people dont like 3.

Unfortunately over the years I’ve become desensitized to anything “scary”.. but I loved the hell out of this game back in the day, I’ll definitely be picking it up for nostalgia
The accuracy of the audio in creating the lonely atmosphere, knowing something was in the room with you and lack of sound in vacuum areas really set a high bar for me for games that came after this to compare to it. Having enemies that would follow you from one room to another if you tried to run away and spawned into the environment based on your position in a room was new and challenging compared to the previous survival horror king. My heart wants to believe this will deliver but my last 3 pre=ordered games were broken in many ways at launch and for months after, so I take a wait and see approach with AAA titles now, even remakes with new engines.
It deserves to be played with the best sound bar/audio system/headphones possible! Heck, even 20$ desktop computer speakers will do! Just don't waste the game on your tv's/monitor's lame speakers! Imma rock my... 100$ sound bar on DS! 🤣 Can't wait to hear the creepy sounds of the massive Ishimura through it and especially listen to the Ripper's circular saws continuously slicing Necromorphs' tender weaker joints! 😜
I had quite a bit of fun with Dead Space 1 and 2. But while I'm not the biggest fan, seeing the dev videos show how much love and detail they're putting into this, it makes me want to jump back in. No ammo management, the new weapons killed the uniqueness of the originals, there was wayyyyy less incentive to shoot limbs, and the base game wasnt scary in the slightest. Worst of all the game was built entirely around coop......except for the cutscenes for some reason lol. Enemies spawn infinitely in a lot of places, every interactable door/QTE had a goofy looking duplicate sitting right next to it and alllllllllll the scary moments were tied to carver. Besides the fact that elton john is the antagonist, or that the government was wiped out entirely in between ds2/3, the story was alright, but unlike the last two games we didnt even get that great of environments to explore and the lore felt.......rushed
Ishimura, this is the Kellion. What is your status? Over. Ishimura, come in, over. Is anybody there? Ishimura, are you reading? Ishimura, prepare to be boarded.
Love it! Scares as the first time - honestly I liked more the "mute" Isaac. Knowing you are not a super hero, not seeing your face, the heavy metallic breathing, the goofy heavy movements in the fights and while running... All makes the game so thrilling and amazing. Love the series, just hope that we can get the same feeling of being underpowered against all the horrors on the ishimura!
Isaac talking shook me. That was one of my favorite parts about the first one, mostly just grunting, moaning and a lil yelling. For me it was like he was to scared/shock to talk, it also added the alone feeling. Besides that change game looks perfect
Isaac won't talk much. He'll only talk when someone talks to him. In the original it was very strange for issac to remain silent when Nicole hallucination was talking to him.
I mean I totally get Isaac not talking really ramping up the fear factor of the original and really allowing the player to put their own feet into his shoes, but tbh it just fits the story better to have Gunner taking the reins. I mean even in the first game if you check the objective tracker Isaac is making logs on this recorder (the player just never hears/sees this but can again read them. Also now with two other main title games with Isaac behind us where he does open his trap it would feel very weird if he didn't speak as it's part of his personality now.
I get your point but it always interested me what he actually thinks of and how he reacts to the monsters, maybe the logs, plottwists or certain events. I like him having some kind of personality to express like in later games.
Nothing but positive emotions for this masterpiece. No gory, sci-fi horror setting has achieved such a level of Lovecraftian eldritch atmosphere and dread like Dead Space. These games reign supreme in that regard, right down to the monster designs.

Agreed I am shock to see lots of ppl disappointed Gunner is returning back as Isacc; imo he IS our Isacc just as much as Steve Downes IS Master Chief for Halo An iconic voice.
Too iconic? Dead Space 1 was easily the best of the series. Why do 'modern audiences' want everything explained to them? There was real charm in part 1 having Isaac not say anything and having to think about how Isaac would feel.
Deadspace 2 doesn't have quite the level of constant background fear and horror as deadspace 1 did, and I think a huge part of that was the silent protagonist. Confident main character with the occasional witty one liner kinda ruins the overall horror.

In the OG, Isaac jotted down all his thoughts in his mission log, hope he gets to voice them out loud in this game. I remember there being a specific log that stated how he knew most of the people aboard the Ishimura. Imagine how somber his lines would be when he encounters a room full of corpses.

The thing I like is if they stick to mostly the original idea of Dead Space but add in Isaac speaking and him reacting naturally to the events like this trailer suggests it will make things SO MUCH better. - New sounds and character models
- New dialogue (since Isaac will actually talk this time)
- New additions to the story - for example Isaacs search for Nicole will play a bigger role.
- More realistic damage Models for the enemies (you have to actually hit the same spots on a limb multiple Times to cut it off)

I think they said he’ll only talk when people are talking to him other than that he might be silent most of the time
Isaac talking shook me.
Here's hoping there's a setting or mod to disable his voice acting to make it more like the original.
Time to run it back
I cant wait for you to play this brad!!!!

Ishimura is the haunted space house and it has such a distinct look that I'm so glad your team upgraded and didn't mess with, I really appreciate that.
They even kept the Z-ball court, this time with actual 0G mechanics.
the best part is that they're apparently adding in a ton of cut areas, and potentially a few new enemies.
@@shadowsbane3 sounds like an unsubstantiated rumor to me, pal. Unless you have sources you can show your work with, you may as well be saying "apparently you start with the foam finger and there's a new secret ending where N I C O L E I S A L I V E"
yep, they did absolutely nothing and charges you $60
@@Ymsee only if you think recreating a game from scratch is nothing lol.
I’m so excited for this and calypso protocol it’s gonna be a back to back horror months
Watching this just makes me want The Callisto Protocol even more.
Yikesss
I actually kinda like that they gave Isacc a speaking role this time for the first game. Makes it more immersive with how he actually reacted to the events
I'm actually of the trope that prefers him silent. I remember playing Dead Space for the first time and having no clue what the hell was happening until my second playthrough.
I always find silent protagonists more immersive, i decide what to feel in the moment instead of some voice actor pretending emotional reactions
@@koosa6289 I think at this point it's safe to say Gunner Wright IS Isaac Clarke. Although for RPGs I'd definitely agree.
Self insert characters are most of the time cringe, as well as anyone that likes them over voice over characters
@@h.bjoewho6859 There is a distinct difference between envisioning yourself in the shoes of the character and self insertion. It’s fine to have Isaac voiced, but I definitely preferred when he was silent. It put you in the shoes of Isaac and it made you wonder what he was thinking in situations, instead of being told exactly what he is thinking.
It’s not a big deal, but I prefer it that way. Especially in a horror setting, or action like Halo or Doom.
In the OG, Isaac jotted down all his thoughts in his mission log, hope he gets to voice them out loud in this game. I remember there being a specific log that stated how he knew most of the people aboard the Ishimura. Imagine how somber his lines would be when he encounters a room full of corpses.
Right? I remember him not speaking in the first one at all, seems like playthrough will be more interesting with him speaking, hopefully it dosent ruin the serious tone it had from the first game with him not talking at all..
Yeah this is absolutely for both crowds, those who played the first game and those who didn't. Really excited to see where they take Isaac's thoughts now that he's actually voicing them.
Seem Isaac learned to talk finally took only 12 years
I can't believe you idiots are going to literally give your money to EA for a remake of a game they killed themselves, made by a studio they shut down and fired all the developers. And now a couple of years later they want to make some easy money by using the work of developers they treated like garbage and fired from their own studio, and you're all going to actually buy this and reward EA for being the most disgusting studio on earth
Honestly I liked how he was silent. His thoughts were of my own, alone in Ishimura. Don’t need to be spoon fed it…
1:15 that outer space shot looks AMAZING!
I’m so ready. Dead space was the first game I ever downloaded instead of bought on disc. 11 years flew by..
The fact the original Dead Space still holds up to this day. Going to buy this day 1.
This game was really ahead of its time.

I am freaking HYPED for this, it’s gonna be great hearing Isaac talk in this and the fact that it’s Gunner Wright once again is incredible!
I remember when the first Dead Space was announced. I didn't even like horror or scary games and just watching the gameplay of it on G4 made me want to get an Xbox and Dead Space. To this day, I still play Dead Space, start to finish, without getting bored! I can't wait to get a new system to play this 🥰
Man I still get chills everytime I watch this trailer. 10/10 remake
Lol
I was both terrified and nostalgic. Seeing so many familiar areas remade with today's technology is beautiful. I can't wait to play the remake.
terristalgic or nostified
Dead Space has always been one of my favorite sci-fi franchises. I’ve looked upon this remake with much enthusiasm and I can’t wait to see what changes have been made.

I like how passionate the devs seem to be about the remake! Also they have kept a lot the same as the origina but added a few new apects, I really think it will be a great idea to have Isaac speak this time around. Dead Space is the scarist game I've ever played, looking forward to this (and scared)
Lol
I was skeptical for months after the announcement. But with all the clear communication and honest presentation I’m glad to say now that I cannot wait! This looks phenomenal and with all the new additions it is completely justified in it’s existence. Time to “make us whole again!”
Lol
Space is so hauntingly beautiful and the Dead Space series is really close to my heart as it captures the horror element in such a solid manner ! Glad to see it return !
This is incredible. Dead space was the first and probably last game that genuinely made me scared. The grotesque necromorphs, cool combat and the claustrophobic space void and also great story makes a knockout
Only horror game you ever played?
Silent Hill 3. Resident Evil 4. Fatal Frame. Manhunt. You're welcome.
the original xbox version of doom 3 had a superior fear factor in my opinion
So u didn't like Alien Isolation?
You should check out RE 2 Remake. It genuinely freaked me out and the intensity of the game is unnerving. Great survival horror
It’s great to see dead space content again after 8-9 years of its absence, I can’t wait for the official release date cuz I’m pre ordering this in a heartbeat
Lol
This and Silent hill homecoming were the only two games to ever actually scare me. I can't wait.
I pressed the rewind button probably about 50 times throughout this trailer because I kept identifying things that I remembered from DS1. Great job at overhauling the visuals, but staying true to the superb original level design. Also, I love that you used Gunner Wright as Isaacs voice actor! This looks great.
I'm so stupid I thought you meant dark souls 1
The thing I like is if they stick to mostly the original idea of Dead Space but add in Isaac speaking and him reacting naturally to the events like this trailer suggests it will make things SO MUCH better. I hope they dont add the helmet thing from 2 I always felt that was kind of bad there was times it made sense Isaac would lower his helmet but there was times when it made no sense why he would lower it like when he gets grabbed by the church.
So far this has my excited.
@@redsus3857 I kept thinking that going through this comment section lol
The joy of getting to a new level on this was amazing. I won’t play it again but for first timers it’s a must.
You’ve resurrected some ancient nightmares for me here, can’t wait to re-live it all again!!!!
I don’t even know where to begin on how much this game meant to me when it came out back in 2008. Truly an experience worth taking over and over again. One of those rare games that I never got tired of playing.
Same. This series means so much to me. DS2 is the game I’ve beaten the most times. I lost track after 13.
That red marker is so vivid! I feel even more sorry for Isaac man; he had no idea what the ship Ishimura imprinted on his mind. Clarke is courageous beyond belief, even if it is out of necessity for survival.
Playing all three again for spooky season this year
One of the greatest games of all time.
I played this series even though i don't enjoy horror games (i like space stuff) and i hope the franchise makes an official comeback with more remakes and sequels.
Everything about this game is amazing. The sound effects, the atmosphere, the voice acting, the upgrades and game mechanics...all of it. Definitely picking this up!
I cannot wait to use the Plasma Cutter again, it was pretty much the only weapon I used in the 2008 version
Dead Space is such a great horror game I hope they remake 2 in the future
Lol
It's nice that they added voice and dialogue to Isaac in this remake. And the fact that Gunner Wright returns to voice Isaac is a huge plus.
Kinda stupid imo but since it's a remake not a remaster I don't have much to say about it other than that

Never been a fan of the force gun, but at 1:21 it looks heavenly. New graphics look splendid, and the 360° Zero-G effect from dead space 2 looks phenomenal. Those zero-G sections are gonna be something else.
Thats not the force gun its the contact beam
Yep that's the Contact Beam
It usually blast out yellow beams while Force Gun is more blueish white
@@guts-141 huh, my mistake. Thanks for the correction.
Guess the fire effect is quite different from DS2

Yeah fr tho you won’t be awkwardly Superman flying though the zero g sections anymore
I wished they would of continue with the sequence but I am glad they're bring it back big time. Wish they remastered the dead space games and also with to play the Co-op on dead space 3 independently instead of finding another guy to play it with you.
Calisto Protocol by this December and Dead Space remake on January? dude, I'm sold

Why? Talking doesn't make anything scary. Silence is actually scary. All great horror movies utilize silence to build tension. Its just another example of cultural degradation.
