    Great review Vee. I have an EX20S HS, just got over 2k total miles coming back from Marty's Tour this year, though I was only able to make it to Day 1&2. In short, I love the wheel, and really does everything I want in a wheel with everything you mentioned....speed, just enough torque, range, comfortable suspension...perfect for these weeklong riding events like Marty's Tour and WestWheel.
    I'm feeling a lot of pressure to possibly sell my wheel and go for a newer wheel that Begode doesn't consider "dead", Problem is I really do enjoy this wheel. Waiting on the EX30 to finally come.out so I can see if it's truly an upgrade worth getting. That 134v movement is hard to ignore. Sherman S looks nice but seems like just a pricey side grade.
    Keep up the great content! Looking forward to your Master Pro impressions!

      Thank you for the love andbsipport. I truly appreciate you taking time to weigh in with me your thoughts and opinions about the newer wheels hitting the market. The pressure is real because who don't want something new and improved., on top of the fact the movement is about the 134v wheels. It would be nice is Begode would simmer down a bit before pushing out another wheel, so as to give us folks a chance to enjoy the wheels we have. SMH

    I'm unclear on why you believe that the aluminum components of the wheel are a problem.

    • @VeeEUC
      @VeeEUC  2 года назад +6

      It's was used to show that with these EUCs, "weaker" metals are being used and although they all have the feel and appearance of being sturdy, caution should be used when riding them. ESPECIALLY now that these wheels are..., naked.. I can't tell you how many rims cracked and or shattered because of the weaker metals used. That same test was done to me when I went to get a rim repaired and the repair shop refused to work it back into shape. And although they were not wrong in their assessment, because of liability issues, nonetheless, had it been a heavier metal, the rim could've been repaired properly without me Jerry rigging it into some semblance of itself in my garage by using a 2x4 and the sledgehammer. 🤷🏽‍♀️

      @@VeeEUC Aluminum wheels were invented in 1920, they're in use on cars and up to heavy trucks. I imagine what you're concerned here is with the design specification of the wheel and other frame components of the EUC. The way that designers typically compensate for aluminum being structurally less capable is to simply use thicker material.
      The light weight of aluminum is a great trade off for a EUC and really should not be an issue unless not designed well or failing to take into account rider abuse. If a EUC is to be used as a off road vehicle where it is almost certain that it is going to be pushed hard, then yes the design of the aluminum parts need to reflect that. Obviously deliberate curb and stair jumping is going to be pushing the limits so the rider needs to account for that with how hard they push it and if the tire is properly inflated and up to the challenge of what the rider is doing.
      Then there is the area of magnesium wheels, these have very interesting properties but are generally only used in very demanding professional operations like car racing as they are very expensive.
      Aluminum is the best of all worlds for most people but you are right to scrutinize if the design and use case is adequate. :-)

      I don't have a problem with aluminum . The purpose of my using the magnet was to remind folks that the components that make-up these wheels., especially now that they are naked and hecka fast, are not as sturdy as they feel and look. Because of where these wheels are generated from, you really don't know the grade of material being used until it's damaged. Let's be honest, what quality control measures are used on the EUCs by the manufacturers to determine how these wheels fair in a high speed crash? I can bet dollars to donuts, NONE! The drawback of weaker metals, especially on these newer, heavier and faster EUCs, are they may or may not stand up to the rating of the wheels performance. At least with cars, we know they have a 5mph safety rating for their bumpers.

      Neither aluminum nor many alloys of stainless steel are magnetic. Why would you want to build a wheel with metal that will rust?!?

  • @JesusRodriguez-qv1ri
    @JesusRodriguez-qv1ri Год назад

    Great video and straight to the point.
    I am still confused about what you were trying to do with the magnet though. Those parts that you were trying on the EX20 seem to be aluminum [Which is a paramagnetic metal... meaning that aluminum is not magnetic] so, you cannot use a magnet on aluminum.
    Aluminum is not cheap steel or iron, aluminum is a completely different type of metal. which is very strong and very light that's why they use it on certain parts, to keep the weight of the vehicle down.

    Great video. I have a v12. I haven't been riding long. I just rolled over my 700th mile. I really want a newer suspension wheel., with a larger battery and higher top speed. I'm hoping to have one by spring, unless a black Friday deal forces my hand . muahahahah. This hobby has ignited my passion like nothing else I've ever experienced. If I'm on my wheel I have a smile on my face. PERIOD

    "... 3 and a half years in dog's life..." Haha, that comment made me laugh! Lol.
    I remember Hsiang made a comment once that was really insightful. He said EUCs aren't something you ride, but something you wear, like fashion. That's why we love to personalize our wheels by accessorizing it.
    I'm worried that Begode will turn into a 'fast-fashion' version of the EUC world, generating a lot of unneccessary waste while confusing EUC enthusiasts. I'm still new to the scene with about 3000km under my belt, but I've been holding off buying another wheel (been looking for a long range wheel I can grow old with) because there's just too many options to choose from.
    The EX20s looks tempting though. Thanks for your review, I enjoyed your video. :)

      Thank you for the love and support. I appreciate it and you. As far as these EUCs go., you can never time any one in particular because of the turnover., especially Begode wheels. I've had 22 at one point. I'm down to 15 and still trimming the fat. I'm truly over it. My level of interest in having the latest, greatest and fastest is no longer a priority for me. Like the saying goes., too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Lol

      @@VeeEUC oh Wow! That's a lot of wheels! Please help me with this question: is it true that we shouldn't purchase wheels that are more than 40% our body weight?
      Because if that's the case, I'm pretty much bummed. I weigh 67kg, so I bought the heaviest wheel my weight can support which is the V11.
      But that means I can't ride any other bigger wheels which I so desperately want!
      Is it because it is harder for a light rider to maneuver a heavier wheel? Or is it just practice? All the suspension wheels are heavy... You look so confident riding this big wheel so I don't see any issues.

      @@soonny002 Never let anyone's opinion dictate your abilities. I'm currently 121 lbs and I ride the Master Pro., which is 112 lbs. I also ride the Monster Pro., which is somewhere in the 90 lb catergory. Once you ride these wheels enough, you'll be throwing them around like they're feathers. With that being said, buy the wheel you want and prove those folks that really don't know anything about you wrong.
      To debunk that theory., how much do you think the Asians weigh? They're not big nor heavy people. Just about all of them appear to be small and thin. They seem to get along well on these wheels just fine. (Just saying) 😊

    Too many wheels comin out in quick succession are problematic.

    • @VeeEUC
      @VeeEUC  2 года назад +1

      EXACTLY!! And majority of folks don't get it. Their knee jerk response to me is., "Don't buy them then" 🤯 How did we get here? It's not about me disliking the business model.of Begode nor the phasing out the wheels i currently own that will no longer be supported by them because they will no longer make parts for them. I'm just stating facts about the bigger problem these quick influx of wheels are having to existing wheels and the community. It's not like these wheels are cheap. Look around, even the distributors are being affected by these wheels coming out in quick succession by scaling back on their stock, making wait times even longer.

      And the major drawback is the distributors are reluctant to order a stockpile of them for fear by the time they arrive, Begode would've phased them out by producing newer ones. Just look at all the sales going on with their wheels. When have you seen or heard any of these wheels being slashed so deeply? I've been riding well into 7 years and I've not seen any major cut in EUC pricing. SMH

      Exactly my point. I don't know why Begode feels the need to do that, but it's having a major impact on everyone, to include the distributors. You go to anyone of their pages and it's like you have to pre-order these wheels now.. They're afraid of stocking them. Quite frankly, I don't blame them.
