Rest in Peace Randy Rhoads, 42 years ago today. Rest in Peace Delores Rhoads. Thank you again for being so kind to us teenagers that ditched school to be there with you at Randy's gravesite, March 19th 1985.
Yes, I was indeed her student. After a while I stopped asking her Randy questions because I remember several times i asked her a Randy related question, her 'allergies' would flare up and she went through several tissues to wipe her eyes. I got the hint. She never got over his death. As a teacher she was very, very strict. If you didn't play it right, she stopped you and you started again. One time I was playing a Bach minuet and totally butchered it. I turned around and told her that, "I played the jazz version". She was not amused. As far as that piano goes, it has one key missing. It has only 87 keys not 88. The action is also very light and it sounds really pristine.
One would think Ozzy & Sharon would donate a large amount of $$$$ to keep this school a float, Funding for this school should never be an issue EVER!! Wow just wow :-(
Randy's family should've inherited his Publishing Royalties. Perhaps the Osbournes f'ck'd Randy out of his money like they did everyone else. People should boycott the Osbournes. ...evil nasty people.
@the English gentleman 001 They do it for him because without him,Ozzy would have been a fat lounge singer in Vegas in the 80's ! If they had any decency, they would provide the funding for restoring Musonia as a fitting tribute to Randy since they screwed the family out of everything else. Without that guitar sound, those albums are nothing!
I’ve been a guitar instructor on the side for over 30 years and while there was a 15 year period where I thought the guitar was dead, it’s slowly coming back. Social media and phones hurt the guitar but because of those things the kids are discovering people like Randy Rhoads. The golden age of guitar is gone but it will get better than what it has been.
Randy's material in Blizzard Of Ozz and Diary Of A Madman will never die. It's still fresh to this day, it's immortal... Thank you for this video, I sure didn't need it to remember Randy Rhoads.. But I sure did appreciate it...
The guitar in the song "Diary Of A Madman" is so haunting and so "original". There will never be another Randy ever !!!! I was deeply affected by his passing as well. He left behind a huge legacy.
I had the privilege of seeing Randy live just a few months before he passed. His death was substantial to me. Not because of his musicianship, but because a talented young life was tragically cut short. The world saw his skill like a shooting star. Had he survived, we would have witnessed his constellation.
Got to interview Kelle for my show about 5 yrs ago...nicest people around and went way above and beyond taking time with us...even had a lil wine down the street at their place. So much history its amazing at that place. What a vibe. Nice video...Musonia needs to be recognized as a historical site
The best tribute I can offer to Randy is to learn every guitar technique, to study guitar like there's no tomorrow... I believe he will smile from heaven.
I visited Musonia many years ago - early nineties - during a holiday to California (from Canada). I was worried that we might be interrupting a lesson or something, but Mrs. Rhoads spent time with us, showed us around and gave me a note from a Musonia notepad with her number on it and said "... if I was ever in the Los Angeles area again to give her a call." I was amazed at her grace and kindness. I've kept it and will always treasure it. Kelle and Kathy, you do your Mom and Randy such great honour. I can't imagine what you've had to deal with. God bless you both.
Such a beautiful film about a beautiful family, each and every one of the Rhoads family members are a piece of my heart. music heals, music builds, music laughs and cries. it lives and never dies. Hats of to The Rhoads family. I Love you. Bahama Kin
From someone who knew and saw Randy when he was alive & who also remembers the day he departed from this world, thank you for this film. #RIPRandyRhoads
I was scheduled to get my guitar lessons but unfortunately Randy was on tour during the Diary of a Madman tour he died the day after my birthday my birthday is March 18th 1982 I was scheduled to get another lesson after he would get home from that tour unfortunately never got that chance to finish what I started and that is the day that will live with me forever until the day I die

Hoping they make a film or release something about Randy and his family..and him performing live..never saw him live...big influence in my guitar playing..R.I.P
Sadly, there are not any high quality live video recordings of Randy with Ozzy. There are some out there and it still sounds good but it's just sad that back in the early 80s, you just didn't get things recorded like you do now.
@@saltykrug Actually what's the saddest part of all this and how little there is to see of Randy is this... It's a freakin FACT that Sharon had parts of the Diary tour with Randy professionally filmed. A bunch of shows. Yet after all these years Sharon still hasn't done Jack shit to put even just one show out. If it wasn't for Randy let's face it... Ozzy's career would have been Dead... along with Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake. I'm not gonna go all on about it but it's disgusting and despicable that they just sit on clear footage of Randy. Bob has a lot of stuff too ..The Holy Grail.. great recordings and films of Randy writing the songs, composing, jamming, in concert and joking around....but Sharon literally offered him peanuts for the entire treasure trove of material..real historical stuff that'll be a miracle if we ever see. Bob turned her down rightfully but it's sad cause he has a goldmine. Sharon hates Bob Daisley more than she cares about putting out a film, recordings, and concerts with Randy. It's such BS and shameful... unfortunately Sharon has no shame though...or morals and values.

When I met Delores in 1985, she showed me Randy's room, and there was a Tuba in the corner. She was the sweetest woman. And she actually invited me to come over on a Sunday afternoon.
I have been to his grave in San Bernardino, it was only by chance I was at a guys house when two girls were talking about going to visit Randy. After eavesdropping I asked them what they were talking about. When they told me Randy Rhodes I freaked out. I have been a fan since I was 12 years old. Kathy is a spitting image of Randy - she could easily pass as his twin sister!! And, it's so sweet, yet so sad that she put the guitar down after his death. Such a loving sister...and wife! You hardly hear of marriages lasting as long as her's anymore! Well, except for my parents, LOL!!! What a sweet, beautiful and loving sister she is for her to, not only maintain his memory, but to show her undying love for him that goes down to her core!! I wish I had such a wonderful sister. I have two, but for idiotically spiteful and petty reasons (on their part, not mine) we haven't talked much, maybe two or three times, in the past 17 - 20 years!! And one was at a friggin' funeral!! I was able to go to Musonia a couple of times. Had a very nice talk with Mrs. Rhoads who was amazing, and the second time I kind of showed up and Kelle couldn't have been nicer. He gave me a tour and talked to me and answered all kinds of questions. I do get that at some point it must be tiring to just have people show up or call and ask alot of the same questions. But it comes from a good place. It would be nice to have Musonia, if financially possible, be set up as a Museum and school and have paid tours or something. not just Randy but so many big names have been thru there and it has to be an iconic building at 71 years.
WOW, what a great documentary! Thank you to all involved! I had the privelege of seeing the initial 'Blizzard Of Ozz' tour at the Capitol Theater in Passaic, New Jersey 'back in the day', and being 3 rows back from Randy was a treat I will always remember!
When I first heard Rany Rhoads, it was in the summer of 90 or 91. I heard Tribute for the first time and was blown away by his live songs. I bought Blizzard and Diary but Loved Randy's live songs even more. I wish I could have seen him live. I don't like live albums but Randy was the only guitarist I loved hearing live and that's rare. Now as I'm older, it's a shame how such beautiful music is fading away along with our morals and values in this country. It is our duty to preserve those things. Look at our current generation, and I have kids, but todays kids are just morons glued to their phones, Xboxes. Todays music is so horrible with this garbage rap music dominating the airwaves. It makes me sad and nostalgic to see this video and hear Kelle talk about how many students that house once taught, only to walk through it and see pictures of an era long passed by, if only those walls could talk. This video was very haunting. I still love Randy Rhoads and I'm glad to hear his songs still being played from time to time.
Pretty ignorant of you to suggest younger people don't care about his music because of video games. I'm 27 and had my first video game system before hearing rock, but when I heard his two albums (and Bark At The Moon) at 6 they stuck with me to such an extent that I'm still to this day learning songs of his that I've always loved. Even evaluating my own writing, I've realized recently that I got a lot of things I do from Randy, the memories of how cool his sounds were staying with me from being a little boy.
Thank you Kelle and Kathy, for sharing such private memories about your brother Randy and your Mom, Delores. Classical music certainly is a common bond I have with you and your family. And yes, there are many great lesser known composers. My CD collection has many of them! I loved Randy's playing. I think Kelle is a wonderful musician and I look forward to checking out the recordings by him that were mentioned in this clip. Kathy, you remind me so much of Randy! I too, would think that Randy would love to see you playing an instrument and enjoying it. However, I also understand the way you feel in regards to your brother. I'm sure that he would just want the both of you to be happy and enjoy life. Respect and regards, Ken M.
What a wonderfull family of music appreciate you all's time in these videos love them my father was born and raised in leesburg fl that is the most encredable soloist Randy your the best
I'm glad I got to meet randy on several occasions..saw him play at Woodbury university in Burbank ca with quite riot ...I think it was 1978..I remember a backyard party in Burbank where randy was there watching the Greg leon band...I gotta say randy was a very nice guy...he was so mellow...very friendly..in my book randy was one of the best guitar players..miss you...RIP
I try to play some of Randy’s songs I guess I don’t know how he did it. Amazing chords and leads all bunch in just one song. WOW. RIP we all miss him. What a shining star 🌟
Rhandy Rhoads is my biggest influence. I'm playing guitar a long time and I wish. I can go to your school it would be nice but I live in new York and its. Far. But randy Rhoads was the greatest axe shredder. He made sound effects and everything thank you for this video its really cool to see his family was into music and that s. Really great he didn't get. Yeld at so he was able to practice right ! Its funny nobody don't attend this school.
Excellent show... Randy Rhodes RIP. I didn't know much about his siblings before and it's cool to get to know them better. I'd love to visit that music school and meet them. I love classical music too
Kelli........, keep ur chin up, you do your brothers memory a credit. He means a lot of things,to a lot of people. Carrying on,is never easy..... best wishes..
Great interview and many thanks for sharing, I considered Randy Rhoades a true American guitar hero as well as a absolutely brilliant classical trained guitarist, It is not that I considered him being the greatest but I loved his style of playing and I couldn't hardly believe it when news of his tragic death was confirmed so many years ago, I was at work when I heard and I was just instantly depressed hearing that news, taken far too soon, One can only imagine how much success he would have gained in his career if he would have lived, I respected him so very much. I have always felt before his death there was never that much interest even after he joined Ozzy, at least that is how I saw it at the time and of course his death turned him into a icon but his playing always had that subtle iconic thing about it, I remember thinking, wow this guy is a guitarist's guitarist, I mean I really like Eddie VH but Randy was in my opinion so much more and yet he seemed so modest.
A school is only as good as its teachers. Maybe that’s the problem, I don’t know , just speculating. If they had a top musician teaching, you would think many would want to study under them. I’ve play guitar for 40 years , and learn everyday. I need some lessons. Lol
I love the guys at the Metal Voice are respectful of the Rhoads legacy and towards the family. I got to meet Kelle last August, I had booked a tour at Musonia, I get there and he is sitting out front, all cut up, he had fallen the night before and could barely walk. i offered to cancel, and he absolutely refused to let me cancel, He used a cane to get around. It was an incredible experience, it is surreal being there. He gave me an hour and probably more if I did not have to leave. I highly recommend people visit the Musoni and of course the Rhoads crypt at Mt VIew Cemetary. I wonder what they will do for the 40th anniversary of that horrible day.
Kelly an Mrs Kathy. You are not forgotten I'm 55 an I wish your family well.your brother was great but listen it was your mom that had great siblings your sister and your self
I was able to get to the School October 20th 2009. Hugged Dee and joked around with Kelle about putting Bunk Beds in one of the rooms Randy used to teach in. I saw Randy at the new La Crosse Center 01/19/1982. Two Bucket List items checked off. If it wasn't for Randy, there would be no Ozzy. IMHO.
I'm an ex-Randy student, spent years at Musonia, so nice to see this video! Eventually they moved Randy's room out back because we played too loud🤣

Thank you! To Randy's Family.Randy you are deeply loved and horribly missed so so missed☮️
Absolutely Beautiful Film! Thank you so much for posting this! : )
kelle sounds like a very envious brother turned opportunist......
Never mess with classics. They are classic for a reason. 🕉
These are my pics from seeing him live in 1981 photos.app.goo.gl/XaUz8FsSgkgYR2vw7
I’m shocked at how many live, audio only, recordings there are on here. Keeps the fires stoked.
Respect and regards,
Ken M.
50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE..that's awesome congratulations!👍👍

I'm glad I got to meet randy on several occasions..saw him play at Woodbury university in Burbank ca with quite riot ...I think it was 1978..I remember a backyard party in Burbank where randy was there watching the Greg leon band...I gotta say randy was a very nice guy...he was so mellow...very friendly..in my book randy was one of the best guitar players..miss you...RIP
Randy Lives On,Thank You.!
Kathy & Kelly I love you guys so much. Miss your mom so bad, love to see you in these videos. Ozie
Excellent show... Randy Rhodes RIP. I didn't know much about his siblings before and it's cool to get to know them better. I'd love to visit that music school and meet them. I love classical music too
Wow..Absolute stellar work. This was a great history lesson!

Lovely people. What a great family.
Kelli........, keep ur chin up, you do your brothers memory a credit. He means a lot of things,to a lot of people. Carrying on,is never easy..... best wishes..
Kelle is very jealous of Randy! Me I would be very proud! He was and sill is a legend!
He is not jealous at all, have you met him? he is extremely proud and complimentary. Randy is an all time legend
Losing Randy was a huge loss, losing what we have never heard from Randy is the greatest loss.
Randy will be remembered for ever ...…! for he gift to play, for the fans, and for the beautiful family keep supported he’s legacy
Love Kathy And Kelle Super Sweet Souls
Randy was and always will be amazing!
ANYTHING RHOADS ................. THANK YOU RANDY AND FAMILY : )
That's crazy, I would think the school will be turning people away, with all the influence that Randy Rhoads had I'm shocked! That's truly a shame!
New generation knows nothing about what happened in the early 80s
They need to advertise more on youtube or facebook.
A school is only as good as its teachers. Maybe that’s the problem, I don’t know , just speculating. If they had a top musician teaching, you would think many would want to study under them. I’ve play guitar for 40 years , and learn everyday. I need some lessons. Lol
Kelle, Kathy, and Kelley Garni are sweet. They play wonderful music.
That was beautiful. God bless you 🙏
Love Randy and his Family, just started Watching.
Bittersweet memories. And yes, I still love Dee. God Bless.
Ahh my extended family, thanks for uploading this 👍
Kathy looks just like Randy. It feels like he is still alive and embodied by her, if you know what I mean. Such a cool family. RIP RR
RIP Randy Rhoads, 41 years ago today. RIP Delores Rhoads, thank you for being so kind to us teenagers that ditched school to be there March 19th 1985.
I guess Ozzy and Sharon doesn't care about the music school. Makes wonder how close Ozzy's relationship was with Randy in real life????
fk ozzy an sharon its all about randy. anyway ozzy loved randy if you cant see that chris you havent got a brain.
I've never been to CA. But Musonia , the sisters Wine Co.,
a few other iconic spots are my 1st stops.
Before I pass i hope to visit the school of Musonia. To go into the room where Randy studied/taught would leave me speechless....
This is absolutely amazing, but kind of sad.
I wish your family & school all the best. 😥
His piano playing was so heartfelt. I wish I could hear more. Wonderful interviews.
That was a very informative and good watch. I like your interviewing style, you get the real story with the people you talk to.
Randy! Gone but never forgotten! R.I.P Randy! #1
Thank you Jimmy 💖
Kelly an Mrs Kathy. You are not forgotten I'm 55 an I wish your family well.your brother was great but listen it was your mom that had great siblings your sister and your self
Beautiful piano playing. Mega talented family.
Thanks, as always, Jimmy. You ARE the man!
I bought diary when it first came out at ten blew me away
what a phenomenal documentary
Randy had a tremendous effect on myself and my band at the time circa 1982. CLASS A player with OZZY saw him live on the Blizzard tour
blame rap what a shame the school should be a national treasure. god bless t RHOADS family.
i love you guys peace and safe travel.
@Ron Norman you’re stupidly ignorant!!!
I was able to get to the School October 20th 2009. Hugged Dee and joked around with Kelle
about putting Bunk Beds in one of the rooms Randy used to teach in. I saw Randy at the new
La Crosse Center 01/19/1982. Two Bucket List items checked off. If it wasn't for Randy, there would be
no Ozzy. IMHO.
Many thanks for sharing this, great work.
Randy Rhoads = Timelessly Inspirational
