love the “(jumbo) it’s the most disrespectful shot in beach volleyball”
What is a jumbo exactly? I've never heard of it lol
The 1 ball. Way more disrespectful... but the jumbo is an "elder" shot. Insert wise philosophical quote here.
The jumbo shrimp! Looks exactly what it sounds like.
@@davidvivsik6576 Deep high roll shot over the defender, rather than over the block.
Casebeer seems like such a cool guy. Would love to see him feature regularly!
Most excellent insights into what you were thinking and doing. An occasional slo-mo would be nice
More of these please! It's always good to see play by play, and the behind the scenes of the mind of pro's playing! Also, big ups to Fonoimoana! Dude is 49 and stll a beast there. shit i need to lose weight and condition better.
This is gold! I've never thought of 'regression to the mean' in the way Casebeer discusses it. I would love a video of all 4 partners discussing their perspectives.
This is my favorite content from MCKB yet! Love it
Awesome! How was that 17 minutes it felt like 9!
Great insights. Fantastic to hear.
Props to Fonoi (oldest man to ever win a match on the tour, if I remember correctly- and, I think, Jeremy picked him up late as his partner(s) were injured).
I always love watching Casebeer serve.
You and Riley deserve credit- this was a tough match.
Please have "the Lorax" back - best mustache in the game and I love his game analysis.
This was gnarly...love that you brought in a person from each squad...really shows the camaraderie among the competition of beach.
This was really cool! I think more of this would be awesome!
Reeeeally enjoying this kind of content. I like the "one rule I go by" or "Something I wish I could have told myself when I started" little tips. Keep up the good work guys!
That one dislike is Fonoimoana!
Hey Maddison! Thank you for putting this together with Jeremy. I hope you and your brother will do more of this kind of analysis. I think it’s extremely important to see how you and Jeremy in this case thought about your strategies and then during the match you were able to switch to a plan B in order to pull out the win. Looking forward to more of this type of content. I’d love to see you guys do a round table discussion with some other intellectuals~Mike Dodd, Karch, Angela Rock to name a few who not only were physically elite but also thought about the game and have a true desire to teach. Beer is on me whenever we cross paths!
fantastic video!!!! The insights are awesome - when you start losing by tapping it into the weaker player or Casebeer's serving position. Utterly great content.
Great video. Only been watching/following for a few months.. but probably my favorite y'all put out so far. Really like the mental dialog on decision making.
Great video. The insight into what is going happening with each team is very interesting.
This is FABULOUS!!! This needs to be a regular guest spot. Bring it! #StayHomeStaySafe
That was great!! Being a very low level player I wouldn't have guessed how much thought goes into every play
We need more of this!!
i love this! would love to see more like this
would love to see more breakdowns like this
Such an excellent teaching video. Entertaining and educational. Another great contribution to the volleyball community. Thanks
Great! Looking forward to more of these. This was a highlight:
Maddison: "Would you have been ready for that?"
Casebeer: "...Sure..."

@@themckibbinbrothers You bet! Thanks for making kick arse content. The KOB and 4s have been gold in these trying times. Definitely looking forward to more "Critique the Enemy".
I really liked this video I’m hoping you do some more like this one
Really cool way to do this including the mindset behind it! Maybe next time you can go over a little bit more of how you could change a certain play that maybe would have won you the point. I know you did it a few times here but like running through maybe a better play if that makes sense. Either way great vid as always fellas!
this was a great video, especially for someone like me (who's just begun to watch and play volleyball). loved hearing both of your insights and thoughts
love this! you learn more in this one video than in 20 of those betteratbeach videos (unless you're a total beginner then those might work for you)
Love the content here. I think the strategy discussion is fascinating to hear from an outside perspective.
This is awesome! Keep them coming!
@@themckibbinbrothers These kind of tactical analyses really help me see what's going on in a game, instead of just following the ball the entire game.
Love this video, need more of these! Always wanted to know what the pros are thinking and the strategy for each plays.
pls more that is such a good source of knowledge!!! Thank you
cool video, like this type of analysing real games ;) thanks
love the insight. Keep these coming. Id like to hear input with Fields, Patterson, and Crabb too! All you guys have great energy and are fun to watch
Super fun idea. Definitely love to see more of these and break downs of ur games
@@themckibbinbrothers also eat really hot wings while doing the breakdown, brand new idea, never been done before and you guys could be the first or a different really hot food.
the eye contact wit the camera from casebeer got me giggling xD
Great fun! more breakdowns!
i love this style of video. u guys should do the match against phil and nik that went to 3 sets.
Cool concept to critique each other and also look at what you were thinking
Great video guys! Thanks!
Fun and insightful... thanks guys. Casebeer, please break down your rocket over-on-one kill in the third set. lol :)
That was great! There is one thumbs down I see...Probably Fonoi's...Ha
This videos are awesome dudes, keep going! :)
Yeahhhhhh, dude! Humanizes each other a bit more on top of adding depth to how you were game planning each other. Keep em coming. Also, missed out on a Casebeer tip to perfecting the stache.
U guys are the best!!!
Really like the tutorial vids... maybe break down some of your technic (how to jumbo...haha)... what you do well, what you don't, and why... thanks great job
That was awesome
Is there a rule against bending your hat brim if you're good at volleyball?
Great content guys, Love it! Still waiting on the vision video you guys would make, anyplans for it? 😀
I'd love to see a recap of Maddison/Ty win in SF with commentary from Ty and Riley!
12:14 is gold! Just the thing I would try and pull after a freak win. 😂😂👍🏼
5:25 Was Fonoi adjusting mid-swing? That second peek at the defense is awesome, if you can pull it off.
I’ve been wondering about when mainstream volleyball broadcasts realise that the camera angles from eye-level are far superior for 10 years :D
The McKibbin Brothers I really like two angles: -for general purpose, facing the net centered from the back. -action shots: slightly further than the “batter’s box”. In both cases the mentioned eye-level is crucial. Imo much of volleyball’s attraction comes from the visual of humans flying, reaching unbelievable heights which is 100% nullified when the camera is placed higher. Thanks for the response, love your vids 🤙🏼
Awesome video guys! 😎
Don't remember if you went through this before in the serving videos but what do you two go over as mental note/thought in your head as you get ready to serve?
Thanks and stay safe y'all
Have you done a video on how to pokey? Would love to learn from y’all! Thanks for all the videos, I must have seen them all :) #volleyballlove
Can you guy do another video like this, pleeeeease???!! If a simple breakdown sounds too bland and uninteresting you can even put some of the storytelling aspect that you guy love so much! Where you also focus on the Mental, Physical and Emotional side before, during and after the game and you can even invite the opponents to bring insight about their perspective! That could challenge you from a writing, narrative and editing standpoint.
Something like SB Nation Deep Rewind, Core a Gaming videos and... Yes, wait for it... HAIKYUU!! (Just imagine: The opponent goes for an unexpected high line during a chaotic set point and as both brothers sprint towards the ball a flashback goes through your minds about the hard work putted and the power of friendship, and as Riley touches the ball a dramatic music kicks in [i recommend "Il Vento D'oro"]. It's gonna be epic! A golden experience.)
Or you can do something something simple like this. I would be extremely happy either way.
I can't believe this vid is only 3 days old....
Time goes by so slowly these days.
Talk more about servicestrategy and placement of the serve short middle line... thx
Great video, informative and chill! Looks like you have a different point system once you reach match point, so no points for side out?
@@themckibbinbrothers Thanks guys for the response! Yeah I dig the idea of that, you would need to do something more exciting than just siding out to win. And you also get rid of the anticlimactic missed serve that ends so many matches..
Love the video. Would you guys happen to know where one can find the details of the rule change you referred to at 13:00? I always thought it was against the rules to redirect an overpass/overset. May the force be with you all.
The McKibbin Brothers Roger that. Thank you for the info and hope you guys are well. Look forward to seeing you on the court in some AVP action.
Where did Jeremy get his UCLA hat? Asking as a fellow alumni :)
Brett Konold I might’ve seen it sold in Ackerman, they had a good amount of options
Ackerman indeed
Good use of down time!
Do some more of these - your best close matches . #hotstoveLeague
🔥🔥🔥
Wait they changed the rule on overpasses? Can someone clarify?
how to succeed as a shorter player??
What's the hand position for a "jumbo"?
@@themckibbinbrothers more of a roll shot? Three finger pokey? Fist? Open, flat palm?
If you skipped math class to play volleyball, you might accept that the law of averages means you are much more likely to win the next game, after playing poorly. That's like saying you are much more likely to lose the next game after playing really well. Or the next coin flip is much more likely to be heads because the last flip was tails. So let's see a video on how to win that next game after getting the snot beat out of you. Love the vids. Thanks for sharing insights. You're alright Casebeer, despite what Riley says about you.
Hi guys, I love this video, but something about it rubbed me the wrong way. Fonoi is a beach volleyball legend in my eyes. I would've liked it much better if you had properly introduced him and talked about his amazing achievements and gave him props for playing at this level at his age after being away from the game for that long. This is only for the younger generation or international younger fans who might not know much about Fonoi so they wouldn't think he is a hack or some beginner who just started playing BVB.
First
6:32 Bless you sir. 2nd *GAME!* I fucking hate that it's officially called a "set". It's so damn stupid. Volleyball already uses the term set for something!!! 😡
I am nightmare for my enemies. They critique me for returning the ball to them on 1st or 2nd strike. They claim ball is too easy for them to handle. A free ball. But if i hit where i want its instant kill. Returning heavy serve to oponents side instead to the partner, returning spikes behind the spiker down the line.
Blocker is bypassed when i hit dislkie button shot. Make a fist with thumb down. Just like dislike button. And click. Only wrist. Or like button. Hit the ball forward with fist and thumb up. Between the hands of the blocker.
I hope you feel good about blocking a 50 year old man in the third set of his third match of the day!!! Haha
@@themckibbinbrothers hell no he wouldn’t. Was just busting your balls
Casebeer never chucks it. That was a bull see it call.
This is exactly how hipsters looks like
