Hi jake, Do you know if you can leave the UK after attending your ceremony and then applying for the british passport from abroad ? do you know people who did it?
Hi there. That would not be possible because you need to send in your current passport and your certificate of naturalisation as part of the passport application. So you have no proof of identity for travel during this period. In short you can't travel abroad. Within UK yes.

Hi there! I had to present my current BRP card and the appointment confirmation. I did bring my passport just in case but it was not checked. Just the BRP card.

@@samscott4746 Hi Sam. Can you clarify this? So you finished your ceremony and you are now applying for a British passport. At what point did you have your named changed? The name in your naturalisation certificate should coincide with the name you put in your passport application.
@@samscott4746 So the name you've written in your application, is it the same as your current name that matches with the deed poll?
If yes then all names are matching and you should apply with the same name for the passport.

How long did it take for the ceremony from start to finish? I know they aim to finish it within 1hr.

Hello Enricho. From the time you apply for the passport online, it will be between 2 to 8 weeks until you receive your passport. It may be delayed depending on current home office concerns like prioritisation of war refugees passports.

Hi Saaanbb. This is a new thing they started because of the social distancing because of COVID. It's a ceremony via video conferencing. One borough started this and others are hoping to follow to avoid spreading covid.
