    Hey brother, thanks for the video I’ve got a Massey 2850 and my dealer Johnson’s farm and feed over in Yulee. Florida is going to send me the new motherboard as we’ve chosen to call it. Thank you very much, sir and I’m a new subscriber.😊😊

    You helped me out a lot. My problem was a missing solonoid coil. The nut loosened and it fell off the tractor. I didn’t realize there were two of them until I watched your video. Went back to where I was using it and found it on the ground. Thanks.

    How bout ya! I've been searching and searching the forums and RUclips for an answer to this exact problem. I am new to tractors and I bought a new grapple for my used Kioti 4510. I put the grapple on hooked up the hydraulics and was excited to do some work. I pushed the button on the 3rd function switch and nothing happened. Like I said, I'm new to tractors and I didn't have a clue what was wrong. I didn't know if the hydraulic couplers on the grapple we're incompatible or what. I first got in touch with Kenny at Bolt On, LLC who is on a Tractor Time with Tim video about 3rd function valve problems. He walked me through some troubleshooting steps and had me do what you showed by pushing the right end of the cylinder in with an pair of needle nose pliers and the grapple opened. I pushed the left end in and the grapple closed. As he and you said, that told me that the valve and the couplers were ok. I took my multimeter and checked to see if I was getting power to the red wire from the battery and I am. I took off the handle on the 3rd function switch and I have no power to the switch. My WR Long valve is underneath the right side of my tractor. I pulled out the harness with the blue and yellow wires and tried to put the meter lead in the Iittle opening to test it there. I got no reading but it was hard to know if I had the lead in the right spot. I'm hoping it is the little circuit board gone bad like on yours. I see WR Long website shows the circuit board with both the red wire and the blue and yellow wires. I didn't see the board and just the red wire. Also, WR Long only sells to dealers not individuals. Can you tell me what Part Number you purchased and the contact information for Saga Motors. Thank you for this video!!

    If you disconnect the negative it will nat arc if your wrench contacts a part of the tractor that is grounded. You don’t have to touch the positive because you no longer have a complete circuit. Even if you need to work on the positive you should disconnect the negative first.

    Was the first video that came up under search..... ABSOLUTELY what I needed. Just got machine back from dealer (warranty work, beyond my scope), solenoid worked when I dropped off, didn’t when I got it back. Checked all the obvious, hydraulic lines, power supply, connections, etc. . Was running out of ideas, board replacement seems incredibly easy, luckily I didn’t have to go that far. I was not aware of manual cycling for the hydraulic, cycled that way a couple of times, and switch worked!!! Apparently, info from web forums, if not cycled regularly, or exposed to weather WR Long solenoid will “seize” up. Anyway, GREAT video, keep ‘em coming!!!

    HOW CAN I GET REPLACEMT PARTS FOR WR LONG INC GRAPPLE KIT ???

  • @nickmcalpin10
    @nickmcalpin10 2 года назад

    I see you have a connector from your joystick control to the valve control module instead of it hard wired. Mine is hard wired and is bad. It won't even jump power to the close circuit in the board. Did your original have the white connector or was it hard wired at the circuit board?

  • @donnydark3111
    @donnydark3111 Год назад

    I installed valve with Grapple. The valve works great; except the valve will not hold pressure. The grapple closes by itself when fully open. If held open and grab something it closes around object but will not apply enough pressure to pick up. What could be the problem?

    Hank, I really enjoy your video's. I'm soon to be purchasing a Mahindra also. You have made my decision easy. One tip I like to add is that I noticed your front-in loader is lifted for you to work easier. For safety purpose, always put something under your bucket to hold it up, in case something or someone hits the levers and drops the loader down. I work at a military base and you would get wrote up for not having it secured. Don't want nothing happen to you my friend. Thanks for making these videos.

    • @Hfoutdoorsyt
      @Hfoutdoorsyt  5 лет назад

      Yes good point. If you watch my other videos, where I have the bucket lifted I mention that, but you're right, I need to do it 100%of the time. It only takes a second for an accident to happen. Thanks for looking out👍I appreciate it 🙂

    Hi Hank... I know this is one of your older videos but have a quick question. I have the same WR Long valve and my issue is only part of the function works and the other does not. So my grapple will open but not close. I am trying to determine if it is the switch in the handle vs the piece you replaced. Was your grapple working at all when you replaced this part? Thanks!

    • @Hfoutdoorsyt
      @Hfoutdoorsyt  2 года назад

      If I recall correctly it was not working at all. But if only one function is working, maybe a short in the close circuit or maybe a bad connection due to rust or corrosion 🤷🏻‍♂️🔧

    How was the rest of the circuit setup if it was not the control board. How do you trouble shoot the open close switch on loader joy stick.

    • @Hfoutdoorsyt
      @Hfoutdoorsyt  5 лет назад

      I tested the circuit board by using a test light and seeing if it was getting power to board itself. It was, so that told me somehow the circuitry was bad. As far as the joystick goes, I just did a visual inspection for loose connections or corrosion, and there was none. So I assumed it was ok, which it did in fact turn out to be. I will tell you this, W.R. Long was rel helpful after the fact and was a pleasure to deal with. Really built my confidence in their products. Hope this answers your question.

    I am a bit surprised that you did not remove the ground strap on the battery before working on the positive post of the battery. A wrench contacting both the positive post of the battery and the frame of the tractor would make one heck of a spark and get hot really fast.

    • @Hfoutdoorsyt
      @Hfoutdoorsyt  5 лет назад

      Good point. Probably shouldve done that...however the wing nuts on my terminal are plastic coated so that's a little protection against the accidental contact.

    For Safety: Your loader raised to full height needs angle irons attached to lift cylinder rods. release pressure on lift - let cylinders drop against angle irons. Helps to prevent you from being hit by loader. Use wire ties to angle irons in place. Use 1 angle iron /cylinder
