Rules:
- This is a low level run of zombero's hardtype mod: www.romhacking...
- The aim is to keep XP gain as low as possible without affecting my sanity.
- Hard mode, obviously
- No stat boosting items
- All other game mechanics are fair game!
Hardtype changes:
- HP: 8000 → 39000
- Makakaja → Cadenza (Raises magic + accuracy)
- Ziodyne → Mjolnir (Mega elec damage + high chance of shock)
- Maziodyne → Thunder Reign (Mega AoE elec damage + high chance of shock)
- Guillotine/Hell Thrust → Primal Force (Severe phys dmg, 0% crit rate)
Yes, monke is back. In fact, you may notice this entire team is reused from the first 2 Deva fights. Efficiency, baby. I had to take care not to register the Yatagarasu I made for the Noah fight so I could re-buy this one. Thor has lots of new toys but we wall him pretty well at this point. Hell, he straight up can't touch either of the birds. Still, we have to be careful as he has a decent buff removal script once the fight gets going and those focussed Primal Forces HURT Demi, even through his phys resistance. Fortunately it can't crit without a shock, and with x4 elec resistance that's not too likely either. Keep stacking Debilitate on him so his attack doesn't get too high and to reduce the odds of him using Dekaja.

Honestly there's only so much you can do with Thor in SMT/Persona games but its just "ME PHYSICAL WITH BIG HAMMER. ME SHOCKY SHOCKY. ME NUKE TOKYO!"

@@ivangordienko8081 In FES you can make Mjolnir with him and do big Elec damage for no SP (since the weapon's normal attack) with a persona that has Elec Amp (since the weapon comes with Elec Boost)

Seeing Thor repeatedly smash the birbs and monke with ineffective Primal Forces makes me wonder how much harder this game would be if the enemies actually learned about immunities - for example, Thor attacks a demon with Primal Force, sees that it's immune, and stops targeting that demon with the move for the rest of the fight.
Ok but what do they start doing when they realize you wall out all their attacks.

Thor would have just clapped Demi-Fiend with Primal Force when he realized everyone else was immune.

@@JimReaperSaysUnsubscribe Lucifer constantly spams status ailments. Her unshaken will is going to come in clutch.... if her HP is high enough to survive the hits. She's also gonna need a lot of speed in order to run first in the team and cast prayer before her teammates lose turns due to status. Or just make her fusion fodder to pass on Unshaken will to a more worthy healer. Sad, but probably necessary. I basically had something similar happen. I was using Titania as my main healer with Prayer, she was the only one who doesn't get fked over by status, but she also happened to be the slowest of the team. So in the end everyone kept losing turns/can only attack or pass, until Titania healed.
I also suggest testing out the lucifer battles through Save States/Load States. Multiple ones. Make a save state before you go fight Kagatsuchi (AND NEVER REWRITE IT), make a save state once you kill kagatsuchi and start the lucifer fight, etc.

Fun fact: The first time you fight Thor in mantra HQ, he gets the normal boss theme. But here he gets fierce battle which isn’t a boss theme but a mini boss/special encounter theme.
Thor literally is so beneath you that he has been demoted from boss to special demon encounter through music.

What's this coming from exactly, two ways of resisting elec stacking? I've never known them to do that or how much it'd add up to.
Yes, resistance modifiers are multiplicative so Masakados and Anti-Elec stack and Demi only takes 25% damage. And I believe the elec resistance multiplier resistance also affects the shock chance.
In the same spirit, a demon with a weakness and the relevant anti- passive takes 75% damage. In vanilla the enemy still get extra press turns from hitting the "weakness" which made anti- passives borderline worthless, but zombero changed this in hardtype.
@@JimReaperSaysUnsubscribe Huh, cool, I never knew they stacked but I guess it makes sense with how vanilla anti-x was designed, i.e. it wouldn't just overwrite "weak" with "resist" like in Persona or something.
@@gorp2116 resistances overwrite weaknesses in dds which came out only a few years later so it was probably a bug or didn't work like they wanted it to.
