Saw them do this live on their Mellon Collie tour at the height of their powers.. this is good, but I still miss those days... was always a huge Pumpkins fan but sadly couldn't get into them when Billy resurrected them after previously calling it a day. It's sad that when you look at this the only member that doesn't look like they could easily be replaced (the bassist does a really great bored, doesn't give a fuck look) is Billy. The current generation really misses out on what you could call good music.

No todos los niños han amado a sus padres ni han sido amados por ellos.
Billy Corgan fue uno de esos niños y, para expresarlo, compuso 'Disarm'.
“La razón por la cual escribí ‘Disarm’ es porque no tuve el valor de matar a mis padres, así que pensé en vengarme de ellos a través de una canción. Pude haber compuesto un tema violento y que mostrara mi enojo, pero en lugar de ello, pensé en algo hermoso que les hiciera ver la ternura en mi corazón. Consideré que era una linda forma de hacerlos sentir mal por haberme tratado como una mierda”, declaró Billy en 1993.
“Habría sido mejor que estuviesen muertos”dijo en una entrevista respecto a sus padres quien, de modo contrastante a este resentimiento, fue como un ángel protector para su hermano menor, Jesse, quien padece parálisis cerebral, síndrome de Tourette (tics transitorios y crónicos) y problemas del corazón, así como un trastorno cromosómico similar al autismo.
Cuando tenía 3 años de edad el vocalista de The Smashing Pumpkins sufrió el divorcio y posterior abandono de sus padres, lo que propició que viviera los siguientes años con una madrastra que abusó de él física y emocionalmente.
Los padres naturales de Billy vivían a una escasa hora, jamás lo visitaron e, incluso, le hicieron saber que él no era como otros niños, hecho que acrecentó el odio del chico hacia ellos.

great song, but damn they ain't got much passion going on in that performance. Seems like Billy was kind of phoning it in
SiloKybe he half assed it for sure. probably from too many performances in a limited time. add to the fact that it's hard to show emotion to song you have played ten billion times lol. Keep in mind, Billy never had vocal training like singers nowadays. he lived and practiced in a Chicago parking garage.
SiloKybe it's not 1994 anymore, I think it's the youth you are missing from their voice :) they are old now and the music will sound different. I'm sure the passion is still there, just a different form of it :)
