Such a great episode of heartfelt sharing and insights! Joie's segment made me tear! In general, Asian dads are men of few words but they show up through actions! Thanks Q and Nick for also articulating this dynamics. ❤

At 7:30 mins, the girl mentioned that she felt a bit distant from dad as she no longer feels that comfortable saying "i love you" to her dad.
As a father of two, I share very close relationship with my 6 years old daughter- I teach her, I play with her, I bring her out, we share secrets, and I am the person she finds to share anything. So i really encourage the female host to continue to try her best to maintain that loving bond with her dad despite what had happened. I want to share that no dad will bear grude permanently with their daughter and it's never too late to mend a distant relationship. And in the dad's eyes, our daughter will forever be our little princess and it's always a strong motivation when our daughter says i love you to us.

I personally believe that having parents who may have struggled at some point in their life cud be gud as well, after growing up,at least we wont mock those poor ppl who do odd jobs since our own parents may have done those at some point in life.

eventhough hop pod folks discuss societal issues/educational stuff as opposed to pure entertainment but they do get decent no. of views.
22:20 imo as we go to uni, live in hostel we develop our own unique interests, and thus a gap develops between our interests/hobbies vs our parents interests,so we are unable to strike a conversation.

29:35 Doesn't that look like the proverbial sweeping under the carpet thing? And then over time, for some, it becomes a psychological baggage that affects all their future relationships with others.

The mahjong thing is same with my dad. But I try to see it in a different light since it helps to keep his mind agile after retirement, and he's spending time with his friends.

I love this podcast and have been following the series for awhile. But is it just me or the male host is always trying to humblebrag. low key annoying.
but otherwise, great content as usual guys!
