HELP... Do you think this is a good IA article? (Bali introduces ‘Foreign Tourist Levy’ to boost sustainability). Instead of indirect tax, its levy. But doesn't it only affect the demand curves not the supply curves, if thats the case, will that lead to a weak analysis...

Thank you for your question. Yes, that article could work for a Micro IA. Although a tax on the consumer is not on the IB syllabus, you could use that model. Essentially, the model looks like a tax on producer model, but supply does not shift, instead, the demand curve shifts in. Price for the producer will fall and the price paid by the consumer will rise (just like a tax on the producer model).
Perhaps, you could argue that excessive tourism in Bali is a negative consumption externality (as it puts pressure on hospitality services - leading to increased waste and pollution, reducing sustainability due to over consumption). And how the "tourist levy" could reduce some demand for the negative consumption.
You can then argue how the Bali government will use the tax revenue generated for sustainability purposes (positive production models - investments in hospitality to be "green" and how the provision of culture and traditions in Bali are also positive production).
I would encourage you to speak with your teacher to see if they agree. Your teacher should review and approve your article before you commit to writing your IA. So, proactively speak with your teacher about their thoughts on this article.
      Hope this helps.
      All the best,
      Domenico
