On the 15th, I'm going in for surgery to remove an impacted wisdom tooth. Because it's an impacted tooth, it's likely going to take longer to heal and I suspect I'll be out of commission for atleast a week if not more. I'm writing this around the time that a new WF update is going to drop; it's tomorrow actually! And usually I start brainstorming a script for a new frame within just a few days. But I might have to put that off for a bit whilst I recover.
Will let you know on the 15th how everything went and how I'm feeling, but ye I just thought you lot should know

I don't even use Captura, but i still found this video very fascinating. That's the mark of a good content creator right there. Making what would normally be boring hella interesting.

@@Chalk.... yep. The playerbase has been crying out for anything to make chroma more interactive and de decided to change his passive to triple jump. To be fair they also let him.swap elements mid mission now, the problem is since his 1 and 4 are garbage the only thing swapping elements do is change your elemental ward (which you won't really be doing) so it basically just boils down to a qol buff at this point so you can build a green chroma and still use fire. That was the chroma "rework" they then told us they wouldn't be doing large changes to warframes anymore so.... they basically just middlefingered chroma players. (They did try though, the playerbase has been asking for element swapping for a long time and de added it. It's just it's not enough atm, chromas problems run much deeper)

That one bugged door in railjack is the reason I only play any missions with 2 frames. The frames that can reliably glitch through that door.
9:45 I think this issue is actually the engine working as it’s intended. What I believe DE does for the cameras is make a curve which traces through all the cameras, this prevent the shots from traveling in straight lines and causes it to be smoother. However, when two cameras are placed on top of each other the curve overshoots as it tries to smooth out the shot between the cameras following the momentum from the previous camera. A solution for DE would be to allow people to control the curve or to consider two cameras in the same position as one when generating the curve.
Plot Twist, All of these issues were fixed on Dev Client they just forgot to ship them out.

When I had 20 hours in warframe like 4 years ago I used the stug and thought it was sick but now with 2k hours idk why I liked it so much
Maybe because a max modded stug at low level is fine.
But after lv 20 its bad.
When I had 20 hours in the game, I thought the Lex was the best weapon in the game. After that, the Latron Prime. Then The Sybaris. Then- oh my god, I really miss warframe. Goddamn it, I wish I wasn’t perma banned.

I used it all the way back when I thought my Excalibur regenerating health over time was purely a bug and not an aura
I had it so long ago that I didn’t even have the slightest clue how the star map worked (because back then any planet you didn’t have unlocked wasn’t even visible on the “starmap” which had a interface like the mandochord in the orbiter and no indication of how to unlock other planets

Wow the record actors part would allow so much to be done creatively in Warframe, hopefully DE eventually implements it.
I think the slingshot effect is a "feature" because you could not get circling motions without this inertia. Like, if you create 4 cameras : one at 12 o'clock, one at 3 o'clock, one at 6 o'clock, and one at 9 o'clock, all pointed towards the center, it would "rotate" in a square instead of smoothly rotating in a circle. I have not used Captura in that fashion, but I assume that's the intent.
What it would be like to ride a k-drive in an enclosed space... A few months later and Yareli's got us covered on that front now

so, it sounds like a lot of captura scenes basically use Discord light theme with how much flashbang brightness there is in them.

I have an idea as to the origin of the problem with the problem of the 2 cameras on top of each other causing a slingshot motion. Forwarning: I don't code and this is all spectulation on my part, but it seems to make sense to me. Here goes: In the clip shown in the video of the camera moving, it didn't move from point A to B in a straight line, but rather a curve, which is probably done purely because that is more pleasing to the eye that way. I way I suspect this is done in code basically notes the "momentum" of the camera once it reaches a point and then "pulls" at the camera with the exact force required to let it reach the next point given the current speed of the camera. If you place 2 points on top of each other as done in the video, the camera has a momentum when it reaches the first of those points and thus "overshoots" the second point, since that "momentum" needs to go somewhere. As to how to solve the problem maybe build in a detection of two points being virtually on top of each other and treat them as one point for the purpose of camera movement. Disclaimer: I could be totally wrong about this, but the idea makes sense to me. If anybody wants to point out a flaw in my line of thinking, I look forward to it.
The movement capture idea is definitly doable. Blinx did it all the way back on the original xbox. And blinx 2. So they have no excuse.
If I had to guess, the lighting issue is probably a side effect of all the custom lighting options.

I'd bet the camera tracking positions generate either a spline or smoothed interpolation between points with some sort of easing function between them. When tracking to two stacked cameras B and C from a different position A the ease function makes a small curve from points B to C relative to the positions from A to B. This would make things like tight turns possible but making same point camera act weirdly. Some kind of ease toggle option could let you choose to disable that smoothing.

Hey, good video as usual buddy! All of these are so true, I hadn't even noticed the stacked camera tracking thingy. Not that I use captura anyway(shhh)
9:50 the best explanation (I'm pretty sure somebody explained this) is likely that the camera uses some mathematic equations (AKA: CODE!) to produce momentum (Don't ask me about the specific equations, they're most likely 2nd Degree functions in a 3D vector space so I can't tell just by looking at them). This is to likely help produce the curving motions between cameras to appear more natural when changing from the camera to camera (as if you suddenly pulling the camera backward after pulling it to the left for so long). If this code didn't exist in the system, then there would be a lot more setup, from the user, in order to have smooth-looking curves when transitioning from one camera position to another. You can see this is built into the system since the red line (indicating the camera's movement) will extend past 2's position in order to get back to 3.
Just to note: I've never used Captura's multiple camera features before so this is purely based off what I see.
The best solution for DE to implement (I know how stupid this is likely to happen) is to have a feature where you can disable camera momentum.

Have you considered using VR set body tracking to make the 'animated' segments? It's an investment yeah, but it seems like it'ed be worth it and save you a lot of headache.
I just got a idea that could make captura user happy
By
1. triburos idea (aka copying player movement)
2. More enemy limit like 20 or more
3. Let us able to use the copying player movement to enemy by letting us control them (example the new war grinner or corpus)

A lot of warframe is a buggy, unfinished and forgotten mess, we can all agree on that
While I am no expert of Warframe coding and I don't use captura at all... I think I know what the problem with the lighting is.
Way back when, Steve was talking about doing in engine lighting and swap overs and redoing it a few time, its possible that something got off from what went in game and it just never updated for captura to turn down the fog and lightning, so its working off the earlier lighting code/builds vs what spawns in game.

9:35 It looks like camera movement was coded to follow a C-curve for smooth movement. If that's the case, settings wouldn't fix it. Programmers would have to code in a couple lines to check the location of the next camera. If it's in the same place (or close), then either change the graph for movement from C-curve to linear or just don't move the camera.
What would be better would be to allow the player to control the movement curve in the settings.
This is just a guess based on what I see and what I would do though.
