Hi, first thanks for the video. Second, it would be nice if you have an example of the destination at the beginning of the video ("this is what we are going to make").
Excellent job man. Sounds really great. Very clear and precise directions, I rarely had to pause or rewind. Clearly articulated narration as well. One of the better tutorial presentations I've enjoyed. Thank you!
Absolutely love this. You are really eloquent, while being efficient and concise in how you teach. This is a gift that is surprisingly rare among content creators making production videos. Liked and subscribed. I would really like to see more tutorials going over techniques to create some of the rich and warm, sometimes sweeping sounds (for lack of a better word) in 70s and 80s style pads. Emulating that analog rich sound is something of an art utilizing VSTs, and Serum is one of my favorites. Please continue to do Serum tutorials - this one was very to the point and extremely helpful.
Thanks so much for all the kind words! Really inspires me to make more. It's interesting you mention the sweeping 70s pads--that's a topic I've been wanting to cover!
Do you think you could do a video on a cleaner 80s bass sound, something with some punch but not much distortion? Something where the notes blend together smoothly? I've struggled finding tutorials on something like that. Thanks!
not a bad idea, actually. was just thinking the other day that there's a sub-breed of 80s bass, mostly used in chillwave, that has a slightly different approach. maybe i'll do something on that : )
I'd love to see that tutorial as well. Until then I might suggest keeping all the parameters in this patch the same, but try varying osc 2 to find a more "rounded" wavetable. Just a thought. Great tutorial. Liked and subbed
Depends on whether you want the LFO to modulate the filter or the amplitude (or both). If filter, drag an available LFO to the cutoff parameter, then choose a shape and speed for the LFO. If amplitude, drag the LFO to the level parameter for each oscillator.

I got into to Synthwave a few years ago and I’ve been wanting to mess with it. I’d like to see more. Very cool. This video was super helpful.
Thx Brendon! 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!
Great tutorial! I am a production novice and Mark made this way more accessible and understandable.
Thx Ben!!

Mark i hope you could do more Synthwave preset courses! this is what i need right now Thx for sharing
For sure!

Thanks Uriel!
So helpful. Thank you 👍. Is there anywhere I can hear the track you're working on in the video? It sounds class
Not at the moment, but maybe soon!

Awesome
Would be very cool if you could show how to do it in massive as well! Thanks for the content, very cool
Thanks! I use Massive a ton, so there's definitely a possibility!

@@markmaxwell That would be sweet man, looking forward to it. I'm a sound design noob, so I'm loving the tutorials.

I Love those kicks and snares! They work so well with this bass. Is there a video on how to create those in Serum?
Thanks! I usually make kicks/snares in Kick 2. It's amazing. Would recommend.
Nice will love it if you played the finished work first at the intro of the vid anyways great video for a first video
Thanks!!
There a download?
For some reason serum won't let me adjust the different bands on the multi band compressor
nvm I just hadn't updated my serum
Hmm. That's odd. So you're in the multiband option, and it won't let you move the sliders?
How do we add an LFO?
Depends on whether you want the LFO to modulate the filter or the amplitude (or both). If filter, drag an available LFO to the cutoff parameter, then choose a shape and speed for the LFO. If amplitude, drag the LFO to the level parameter for each oscillator.
