No avian flu flockdown this year

It's December 2023. In the previous 2 years all poultry was required by the government to be caged throughout the winter and much of the spring to avoid domesticated ducks and chickens picking up the avian flu virus from wild birds. This year there has been no outbreak. The illness devastated many wild bird colonies but it could be that they have now developed an immunity. Meanwhile, our poultry enjoy being free range.
