I honestly knew who was going to win. As powerful as an alien hybrid like Steven can be I doubt he can actually take down an interdimensional girl with magic that literally brakes the laws of physics. That alone puts her in the same level as "cartoon powers/physics" which is a term the guys from Death battle use to explain the invincibility of certain characters like the mask that have powers that kinda reach god levels because their abilities work in magical, almost cartoon character logic.
If you are curious why Steven didnt turn into a monster, remember:steven can only do it after he is corrupted. He has reached a stage that he wouldnt be able to reach after years. He even said he doesn't want to turn into a monster again so he wouldnt hurt his friends. Saying steven should go monster mode is like saying star should use time freeze even though she said she doesnt want to use it again
It is true that Steven would never want to go monster mode in a fight, he never really would. However, Death Battle typically removes such limitations for the sake of the fight, even if it’s something a character would never actually want to do. There’s also the argument that Steven couldn’t use the form on purpose, at least not by the end of the series, so I’m actually fine with it being left out. Besides, it doesn’t really change the outcome anyway.

I really think you should watch the ending explanation again without talking over it so much. It and the tabs in the top right corner of the screen really explains almost every argument you tried to make. Especially Kaiju Steven. Saying all these things that "we don't know" is exactly the point. Making pure assumption in a versus match really falter the result. You said it yourself perfectly. Pink Steven really couldn't hurt Star with a shout. They explain in one of the tabs that her magic uses the same destruction potential as her shield, so she can block any of Steven's attacks. The dimension spell was said to be performed in a instant, not over time. And remember that it's an official rule that the fight is only made for entertainment purposes. Picking apart the semantics of the fight is rather pointless. It's the research at the end that decides the winner.
You make some good points, but I wasn’t really trying to debunk the fight or the results with my discussion at the end, it was mostly just talking randomly about hypotheticals (which I did acknowledge would have no impact on the fight). Picking apart the fight itself was for more fun, not to say their analysis was incorrect in anyway. I’ll be honest, the discussion kinda spiraled into “huh, I wonder if Steven could do this?” rather than an argument on what should or should not have been taken into consideration. I still believe there are circumstances where Steven could win, but Star just has too much of an edge in other categories that give her a more consistent ratio.
@@insectplate I know you weren't. You seem pretty okay with the result. You just did miss some things they went over that would have made it a bit more clear. And definitely! Steven could land a lucky fatal blow in some circumstances. I really love both characters and it was hard to see either of them lose, but my girl Star is a tough one to beat. :)
Star was able to stop time across the entire multiverse and was stated later it was causing harm to the concept which would be a multiversal feat by definition not to mention star is stronger without her wand also star speed is actually immeasurable since she was able to go back in time and into the future with raw speed

Umm, why else would they say they are comparable in strength? That’s called scaling! There is nothing wrong about scaling unless it involved a power up of some sort
I didn't mean scaling in that way should never be used, it is one of the more valid ways of determining a characters power, but the context in which the characters are compared is important to take into account. It's the kind of thing that should be analyzed on a case by case basis, as two characters who scale to each other may not automatically be capable of identical feats within the context of their series.

In this case, Star’s wand has the energy output to destroy a universe, so her offensive and defensive spells should be able to somewhat compare to that level of strength, considering that they all use the magic wand as a source. So Star’s universal scaling shouldn’t just apply to one spell, but her magic in general. Her raw Magic’s AP is what one the fight, and Steven didn’t have any way to overpower her AP and durability. Considering her Durability should match her AP due to having tanked hits from much more powerful magic soucrs
