Yeah, after calling him Chico, and talking about him selling tacos in Tijuana, with some tap water. Jesse, of all folk, is gonna file a slander suit for "lyin', lyin', lyin'....!"
Well 84 was his last full time active year. September was when he started having blood clots in his lungs which caused him to retire. He tried a comeback in mid 85 teaming with Savage but that eventually failed and thats when he moved to commentary. He did wrestle on and off in 86.
i luv how he called Tito Santana Chico!! the best line ever. He should have taken Chico to the People's Court. I m sure Judge Judy would have settled things!! 😅
Even by 85 Jesse was almost completely done with his in ring career and had pivoted to being the Heel color commentator. He did a handful of early 86 matches with Tito before going off to film Predator in the spring and early summer of 86. He never wrestled again upon returning to WWF programming in late summer 86
The funny thing is that Santana lost the belt to Savage right before this match took place but still defended it since the title change hadn't aired on TV yet
I was there the night you might be talking about -- in Oct. '84. Jesse was supposed to challenge the Hulkster (the previous month, Jesse had interrupted a Hogan-John Studd lumberjack match by clocking Hulk from behind) but it was announced that he couldn't make the match, and instead Hulk fought George "the Animal' Steele. Not the best match -- Hulk won in about 8 minutes. Soon after, Jesse was broadcasting. I thought '84 was his last year active, but I could be wrong on that.
0:15 actually Gene, it's Toluca, not Tocula, and you're right, it's not even close to Tijuana, it's a lot closer to Mexico City, just about 40 miles west. Toluca is basically a suburb of Mexico City.
Jesse was great but he couldn't do much in the ring at this point. He could work the crowd, get plenty heat, cut awesome promos, but he wasn't great in the ring at this time due to his health problems.
from oakland? you take 580 south to 880, takes just under an hour driving, I should know, it's my hometown, huge city, bigger than sf, more than twice the size of oakland... u can also take bart there now, they opened up the long awaited station 2 years ago, the catch is it's only one station (for now) and it's in the northeast corner of the city, but still it's better than nothing, takes about an hour to get there, comparable to driving, the next four stations will take about another 10 years give or take
If they did more backstage promos instead of live in front of a crowd, you wouldn't get that boring chants. I think backstage, you can be more creative; it's hard to do promos live.
The 20 minute promos get to be boring so I am not surprised for the chants. Guys like Ventura, Michael Hayes, Dusty Rhodes, etc...back then had two or three minutes tops. The Body shows you don’t need 15-20 minutes to make your point.
More important than the off color stuff in those days is they would break away from the sports entertainers showmanship to punctuate the personality is cray
OAKLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD! CALIFORNIA STAND THE FUCK UP!-East Oakland Roy
Chico was a liar from the beginning. Even when he became El Matador he was a liar. He told the public he will be push to become a a WWF champ but not. Chico should be charge and arrested.
@markallenkellner Hogan certainly had his limitations, but this is a fairly ridiculous statement nonetheless. Ventura was really incredibly bad in the ring, he was never even an average worker. Hogan was no Dynamite Kid, but he was at least competent (check out his Japan stuff). In addition, Ventura was a natural heel and never would have worked as the pro-America babyface...he was more an anti-hero. I'd say if anything Jesse was 15 years before his time.
...and the jealousy persists to this day. Ventura was awesome on the mic, but like others have said, he couldn't connect with the fans. Hogan had that "it" factor.
mightymacdiesal12 yeah it strikes me as odd that he is wearing that. I know there are various opinions on whether or not he has earned the right to refer to himself as a SEAL. He did complete BUDs, but he was assigned to a UDT unit and never fully completed the period of time on a Team that would make him a SEAL. On the flip side, some SEALs consider UDT and SEALs as one in the same, I personally think there is a difference. SEALs receive more ground combat training and see significantly more casualties than UDT have seen. So it’s open for debate. But good eye.
Bring this on Australia has no wrestling Team.like it did ,Larry o day, Mario malano ,OX Baker the heart punch, bruser Brody, yes other Champions....At FESTIVA HALL . now Australia has to many cooking shows.now all gay libs following Sodom . absolutely
The Body was and is the coolest heel in wrestling history.
Damn Ventura was gold on the mic.
Dutch Savage helped train Ventura on his "Mic" Skills! Jesse was Green on the Mic When he came to Portland in the 70's!
0:36 - Jesse threatening Tito with a lawsuit never fails to make me laugh. One of his best. 😁👍
Yeah, after calling him Chico, and talking about him selling tacos in Tijuana, with some tap water. Jesse, of all folk, is gonna file a slander suit for "lyin', lyin', lyin'....!"
@@thescatman5029 Jesse actually lives in Mexico today! Has an off the grid house.
Jessie "The Body" Ventura American BADASS!🔥
Now he's droppin truth bombs
CHICO'S REVENGE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm crying here!
I dont understand what is Chico's Revenge?
El Taco Burito referring to Montezuma’s Revenge
Along with some Mexican tap water 😂😂😂😂
He's so damn good wish he would have been in the WWF longer
You couldn’t cut a promo like this today. Someone would no doubt be butthurt.
People were offended in 1986, but there wasn't the internet/social media to make it known. I bet the WWF received hate mail via the USPS. lol
The Body is a legend
I love this.
He looked like such a bad ass
Jesse the Body was skilled talker on that mic.
I would love for Jesse to read a children's story.
His voice was gold !
Chico's revenge hahahahaha
I lost it at when i heard that
What is Chico's Revenge?
Jesse rockin the Trident
🤘
Fair winds & following seas🤘

Jesse has beaten all the promos from the PG era in 1 minute and 45 seconds.
Jesse was a great announcer in the wwf.
Went to many Oakland shows in the 80's including watching Wrestlemania 2 on closed circuit there. I miss those days!
Me too. And I also saw wrestlemania 2 there.
Ah, the 80s forever!🥲
Chico Santana, Ivan Paduski, and chump Hogan. Love it
Sportin his Trident on his headgear. Jesse was the greatest. Steve
His trident is on his beret!
Jesse's last match was in a house show (at the Los Angeles Sports Arena) in 25 March 1990 - he worked with Roddy Piper against The Orient Express.
i luv how he called Tito Santana Chico!! the best line ever. He should have taken Chico to the People's Court. I m sure Judge Judy would have settled things!! 😅
And now he lives in Mexico!
Not a hypocrite. Just a wrestling promo. Nothing more and nothing less.
The Baja? Eating fish tacos?
Next door to Mr. Gonzalez.
And he loves the Mexican people. As he has stated this was all wrestling buffoonery.
Even by 85 Jesse was almost completely done with his in ring career and had pivoted to being the Heel color commentator. He did a handful of early 86 matches with Tito before going off to film Predator in the spring and early summer of 86. He never wrestled again upon returning to WWF programming in late summer 86
And they say Attitude Era started in 90s
In another interview he calls him a taco salesman from Tijuana.
The funny thing is that Santana lost the belt to Savage right before this match took place but still defended it since the title change hadn't aired on TV yet
He gave the best promos😅
Rip mean gene
Chico, all you got was a fist sandwich!
The Greatest Promo Ever For Wrestling!🔥
Jesse liked litigation back in the 80’s too.
@markallenkellner I remember he was a no show at an Oakland card due to illness some time in '86 and I don't think he ever wrestled again.
I was there the night you might be talking about -- in Oct. '84. Down in the Baja!
Do you know the way to San Jose?
His that his Navy Seal trident
pin on this hat?
Even back then Jessy was litigious!
Chico Santana 😂😂😂
When chico sale those taco and 24hr later WoW ! You pay for it Mean Jean..That was funny!
Jesse wasn't only gonna kick his ass, but he was also gonna take Chico's money.
Chico Santana lol I love it
Nuts to think he was a navy seal.
You ever been down to the baja gene?
And, Jesse doesn’t like liars! You Go Jess!
He didn't kiss Vince's ass that's why Vince got rid of him, and he kicked Vince's ass.
Lol, now Jesse lives in Mexico. Or at least he did. Not sure if he still does
He's in the Baja
“That’s a SUBURB of Tijuana who cares?!?”😂😂😂😂
and now he lives in mexico for half the year lol not far from tijuana too btw xD
As far I'm concerned, Jesse Ventura should been given Hulk Hogan spot. Same ring skills, waaaaay better promos.
You're crazy. Hogan cut wayyyyy better promos than Ventura. Especially when he was in NWO.
I love Jessie but Hogan is a ten times better than Jessie. Lets face it.
@@kevin4209 eat your vitamins Hogan mike skills? LOL

they didn't know the way to San Jose!
Was he still wrestling in 86? He must've retired right between this and WM 2.
Toluca is the highest city in Mexico at 8,727 feet.
Tocula is a suburb of Tijuana 😂😂😂😂😂
Leave it to Jesse to work in a Dionne Warwick reference into his promo.
Anyone here after SNME?

@@daleva187goligo Dear Daleva: Thanks for the directions, but I would be coming down from Canada North, would the route be about the same? Greetings.
What will be your excuse THIS time, Chico?
Best promo in pro wrestling , today's fans have ruined this type of talent with boring annoying chants .
If they did more backstage promos instead of live in front of a crowd, you wouldn't get that boring chants. I think backstage, you can be more creative; it's hard to do promos live.

Chico, Tito what’s the difference when your a taco salesman from Tijuana!!!
Ah the good ole days. Nobody gave a shit about funning around with someone's race or heritage.

I beg to differ on both counts. Hogan had more in his repertoire and was far more exciting to listen to. Everyone sees it differently, though.
eat your vitamins Hulamaniacs mike skills. Hogan appeals to 8-12yr olds.
Seth Rollins kind of looks like Jesse
I wouldn't know, don't watch modern wrestling, and never will, I have heard the name, but cannot put a face to it
