exactly, world forget that ukraine used this city to shell the population of donetsk city i've seen lots of videos of the shelling in middle of the donetsk city, not just that but capturing avdivka opens the gate to 2nd line of defense and strategic loss for ukraine. Why DID russia want Avdievka so badly. Because it is the most importaint stronghold in range of Donetsk, Ukraine bombed Donetsk city from here for years, and once they had it, it was the bigger prize than all the territories they captured since Mariupol

The only way to protect the population is to move the front line far from the city. After this ukranian army moved their focus to kill civilians in Belgorod.
